First real journal entry. 
Review; Bleach (the anime)
Bleach and i have a history, like many histories sometimes it's a good and loyal friend and sometimes it's a hated enemy. it's a very immersive anime and if you let it take you in you'll be chomping at the bit for next episode week to week. but it also has this bad tendency to write itself into corners and then instead of fighting it's way out in a interesting way it just kinda opens a window and jumps out. it's falling into the same mired blackhole that DBZ did. for every new enemy the main character gets stronger and then in turn an even stronger enemy is produced. first it was the captains then the Vizards then the arrancar then the espada. but i let it do that because like naruto i watch it for the side characters.
ichigo is a shallow character who wears everything on the outside. he has no other motivations then the one he spouts off during the fight and any imposed restrictions on his powers are thrown away as soon as a challenge appears. But like i siad i watch for side characters who are deep and interesting and although archtypes have a purpose. Hitsugaya is a child prodigy trying to live up to expectations while fighting demons of his past and throwing off the child image of himself. Sado is a giant with a gentle heart and silent resolve, however he has failings that he is constantly trying overcome. Some are shallower than other(ie kenpachi, matsumoto, kyoraku) but many of them haven't been explored enough to really tell whats going on with them. and although on a week to week basis the writing seems kinda poor overall it takes shocking and unexpected twists and turns.
overall it's a good anime even though it tends to drag between main plot points.

Sakura Haruno vs Tifa LockHart
superstrong girls who excell in close combat. both have full array of materia and jutsus they would normally have for a fight. Versions i'm using are Tifa during Dead Fantasy and sakura during her fight with Sasori.
