Gender Roles in Death Note
Death Note is a great show, don't get me wrong, but it seems that all of the women in DN are kinda stupid, easily fooled, or used simply because of their gender, while the guys are smart, clever, and crafty.
Now, what do I have to say about our dear little whore Misa? She's the textbook definition of dumb blonde. She only likes Light because he's Kira and he killed some dude that murdered her parents or something. She has so many stars in her eyes that she can't see that Light is only using her, and is trying to kill her. The only reason the silly slut survived as long as she did was that Rem saw straight through Light, and threatened to kill him if anything happened to Misa. More on Rem later, but now, back to Misa. She only did one useful thing in her time on the show, and that was coming up with and executing the plan to get proof that Higuchi was Kira on her own. Due to her low intellect, she is used and manipulated by Light fairly often.
It was a shame how Rem died. I mean, you save a stone-dumb plastic serial killer from certain death or exposure as Kira several times, and what do you get for it all? You get stuck in a position where it's certain death for either you or said stone-dumb plastic serial killer, and you choose to give up your life for that ******** Misa (and your efforts to spare her life are all in vain because she eventually dies. On Valentine's Day too. B'awww. How tragic). It just doesn't add up! And to think that Rem's untimely death could have been avoided quite easily by never telling anybody how to kill a shinigami. *sigh* 'S a pity.
Naomi Misora and Kiyomi Takada were too easily fooled. Takada was a haughty nutjob. Misora let her guard down.
