Emilie part2 (sorry it took so long guys)
Falling against a tree the pain of the memories shook my body and I started to sob. I turned 18 today and I was all alone without my mum the most wonderful woman in the history of mankind. “Oh mum, oh mum I miss you so much” I sobbed quietly to myself. I cried under the tree until I was exhausted then dragged myself up the tree to a sturdy branch and fell asleep exhausted. When I awoke it was night and I scrambled down starving, I ate another one of my granola bars and stretched out to get the sleep and tiredness from my limbs. Looking up I saw the moon was full and sighed happily “Tonight will be a safe and happy travel” I said quietly to myself. I hitched my bag up onto my shoulders and took a swig of the purified water, stretching out unto my toes I started to walk leaving the morning of sadness at the site and headed silently into the woods. The walking left me with hours everyday of quiet thought and meditation, and increased my love of the wild every second I saw it. Thankfully it was spring and I could work for a good coat over the months as well as my needed supplies. The slight gentle breeze of the night caressed my face and I reached out trying to feel the air, it mostly seemed at those little moments that my mum was right there with me and not in the ground.
I couldn’t remember the last time I had even been into the state with her grave, I traveled all over to where my feet took me and where woods ended and the human world began. I never understood the human world for its cruelness, lust, and greed filled horrors. I started to hum the melody that my mum sung when we were together baking or taking a walk in the woods. It was comforting and haunting something that one will never forget. The melody helped when I remembered the regular world and saddened at the thought of what I lost and what I wished for again sometimes. I ran because of the horror of being moved place to place without a real home and a woman trying to take place of my mother. I trekked on in the woods mapping my way and smiling as the moon started to fade and the sun started to peak its head from the hills bringing on new warmth, love, and life into the world of spring. Days could pass by with me walking and sleeping under a tree, I ate a meal usually only twice a day to keep my energy alive and refilled my water supply as much as I could. I always tried to escape from the real world in these woods to live free and unrestricted by the rules that were senseless and just there to keep teenagers out of the way.
I walked on and heard a slight whimpering stopping I looked around to see where the sound came from. A small wolf pup came out of the woods and padded up to me limping. My eyes softened and I bent down quickly to see what the matter was. The animals of the wild almost always came to me when something was wrong. It seemed they were drawn to me for some reason and I never knew why but kept helping them. Leaning down I lifted up the small pups head and saw loss and pain in its small eyes. “What happened little pup, did something go wrong in the pack?” I asked in a gentle tone. The pup whimpered and fell over on it side, I quickly reacted and did a quick run through glancing around in the woods for any other predators that weren’t so kind to small pups. The pup had a wound in its leg like it had been bitten and I dressed the wound quickly cleaning it out with water and wrapping it with a piece of my sleeve. It whimpered and I calmed it by looking in its eyes. “It’s going to be ok little one my mums watching over both of us now” I picked it up and set it near me giving it a piece of salted meat and some water. Its ears had picked up and it stretched out and yawned falling quickly asleep as little ones usually do. Smiling slightly I went scouting for its family looking around to see if I could spot where they went. Noticing some birds overhead I headed that direction until I could see what was in sight, I gasped and covered my mouth leaning against a tree. There was a whole pack of wolves torn to shreds.
