Appearance:
Siegfried stands at six feet, clad in ornamental Paladin armor. His shield is bent from repeated use, but still shines with glory. He wields a tritium straight sword, without a single crack or chip. His tabard is filled with various holy symbols, and the same adorns his shield.
He shimmers in and out of existence, his state of being is rather haphazard. His soul is constantly trying to move on, and he remains there by a sheer force of will. The only constant part of his body that is ethereal is his feet and shins. As a result, he makes no sound as he walks. Otherwise, he can, or cannot be there at any given moment.
There is a bloody hole directly where his heart once was, an eternal symbol of how he died, and the torment he must endure.
Personality:
Siegfried is an honorable man, his life, or undeath, beset by tragedy. He is no longer happy, but has an air of grave determination, steadfast to do whatever it takes to avenge his family and to find peace.
He's been having to make choices, as of late, to decide whether to stay by his Paladin beliefs or to do what is necessary to give himself peace. It troubles him greatly, and his mind is full of strife.
Biography:
Born the Siegmund and Sieglinde von Lichtenstein, Siegfried was raised a noble, and trained to be a knight and paladin from a young age. He did well in his combat training, and also in his military tactics and strategy. When he was eighteen, he was knighted, and soon after, at twenty one, he was named a Paladin. He was the youngest in his family to be named a Holy Warrior, and as such, the pride of his line.
His first mission as a Paladin, was to go against a band of bandits that were terrorizing the country side. He succeeded, and rescued one of their prisoners, a beautiful woman by the name of Heidi Schön, who had barely escaped being ravaged by her captors. He invited her to stay at his family's castle, and later married her. They had a single son, named Siegschwert, when Siegfried was twenty five.
He was away from home frequently, doing honorable deeds in the name of honor, god, and country. He never failed to come home to his wife, however, and spend time alone with both her and their son. At age thirty, his father died, and he inherited the estate, and title as Lord of Lichtenstein. As such, he was bound to stay at home more often, but he frequently rebelled on account of dangers on the borders.
As a result, his uncle was able to gain power and influence while he was away, and finally, killed his wife and child in an act of aggression, and as Siegfried came home, had him assassinated.
He swore vengeance, and ten days later, out of a sheer force of will, broke free from the afterlife and returned to the mortal plane, seeking the death of his murderous uncle and his cohorts.

Shame that his family was murdered. He seemed to have a good life.
I like the fact that you include that wound in the heart. It both tells how he dies and is symbolistic.
By being murdered in the heart, its kind of like a pain he took for losing his wife and son. ((Haha, I might be wrong about that last part))
