For the week of: Jan. 23
Captain Ara's Nestegg, Fallen Wish, Gimpi, Infernal Spirit, Jinxi's Charm, Nano-C
Captain Ara's Nestegg: I'm left wishing I had more than one, is my first thought. I love the peg leg and the hook. The waistcoats are gorgeous, I especially like the black one. I can't imagine how they could have done the island background any better and the beards just top things off. I'm not one for the bird spirits, but I do think they are nicely done. I like the colors and the style and I'm curious where they'll go from here.
Fallen Wish: The dragon is still so cute. I love the addition of the wings, and while I'm hoping we see them get a bit bigger, I'm not holding my breath. The garb is really pretty and I think it is a wonderful addition to the item. I like wearables and it is nothing like we've gotten that I can think of. The dagger on the other hand, as other have mentioned, looks an awful like the spider dagger. While not entirely a bad thing, because I like the design, I do wish it had been a sword instead.
Gimpi: What to say about the Gimpi. I love it! I was thrilled to get the skin and the eyes. The academy clothes are amazing and I really like the star background. While not normally a fan of "you are ..." poses, I think the Gimpi was done really well. He looks awesome. I also like the date poses. They're cute and funny and well done. Granted, I may not use them as much as the other poses, but I'm not unhappy that they are there.
Infernal Spirit: Need more Spirits! With every evolution of this item lately, I've wanted more than the one I have. I want to piece together that sweet armor.
Jinxi's Spirit: The dark tone the Jinxi has taken on has me all excited. I'm really wondering what will come next. As usual the items are well done and look great on the avatars. Mostly with this evolution, it just leaves me waiting on the edge of my seat to see what happens next.
Nano-C: I am pleased to see that things are less bulky with this evolution. While I'm still not one for tech, the shield is a nice addition. I'm sure those who are into tech are really happy with the direction this item is heading. I thought that the poses for the grenade launcher were really well done too. Who knows, maybe this item will encourage me to make my first tech based avi.
All in all this was a great week for EI's and had a truly entertaining report. I love it when there is a lot of story included in them. I think Timmy is one of Gaia's most favorite evolving items.
Changeling Babies, Coocoon, Fremere's Guard, Wingding Shirt
Changeling Babies: Well, the item went from me liking something, back to meh... I appreciate that it's following a story, but the horns are ridiculous now, and I've no use for the tails or ears. I'm sure others will and that's great, but this evolution isn't for me.
Coocoon: There weren't any surprises here. We got just about what I expected we would. I know one thing is for sure, I can make a sweet hippie type avid now!
Fremere's Guard: Okay, I really don't think I've had such high hopes for an EI since the Inari's Beads. We still don't know who's doing it, but I do have my suspicions and it's always fun to speculate. I'll just say that I'll be incredibly pleased if I am right. As for what it may evolve into, I have no idea, but I'm sure as heck enjoying it's initial poses!
Wingding Shirt: Well, I'm certainly surprised. I really can't argue with bigger boobs. The shirt doesn't look too bad and who knows, I may even use it! I wonder what else will come out of this (so far) surprising item.
Anima Adamantea, Fallen Wish, Infernal Spirit, Jinxi's Charm, Nano-C, Titan's Legacy
Anima Adamantea: The first evolution of the Anima is promising. The metal egg on the ground for some reason reminds me of a mechanical penguin. I don't care much for the forehead crest, mostly because my hair style hides it. The collar is alright, if a little bulky, but I really like the belt. I can't wait to see where this item goes.
Fallen Wish: So cute! The forehead gem, wrap, and earring are alright, but I really love the look of the dragon. From its tiny little legs to its tiny little blue wings. It's just so adorable. I can't wait for him to get even bigger.
Infernal Spirit: Wow! This is my favorite item this evolution. Now that I know the theme of the item, it makes it all that much better. (Thanks again, Suitor). I really like the cloak. I think that's my favorite pose, although the chest piece and the shoulders alone are really awesome too. The loin cloth is great and I like the crowns too.
Jinxi's Charm: The mask, aura, and overall color scheme are great with this evolution. I think the mask alone is my favorite pose this time. I have ideas for a nice avi using this item, but I want to wait to see what else comes from it.
Nano-C: I'm still not one for tech, but I actually like the aerial booster pose. I have no use for the gun or the omnidefense thing, but I am determined to find a use for the aerial booster!
Titan's Legacy: I'm extremely surprised by the newest change in the Legacy. Despite the broken pose for the fruit, it's a good set of poses. I like the staff, but I adore the cloak! It's absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to make a fairy/nature avi with it. Over all this evolution was great. All the items had something I was happy with! Huzzah for good evos!
Captain Ara's Nestegg, Dander, and Wingding.
Captain Ara's Nestegg: I seem to remember people wanting a drowned skin with the Kelp, so it's kind of nice to have gotten it with the Nestegg. I think it might fit better here with the nestegg. I also like eyepatches and the gouged out eyes. The Kraken and Davy Jones are really nice too.
Dander: We can make a kick a** Pigpen avi with this item. I do really like the way it turned out. And the fact that we got a lot of the poses suggested is icing on the cake.
Wingding: It's nice to have a cheap EI, but I don't know that I have much hope for it. We'll see.
Carol of Ol' Ebenezer, Carol of Ol' Nick, Changeling Babies, Fallen Wish, Gimpi, Infernal Spirit, Jinxi's Charm, and Nano-C.
Carol of Ol' Ebenezer: I'm really pleased with both of the carols. I think the collaboration between reapersun and pepper-tea really led to a wonderful set of items. They are beautiful and really give us a nice story and they are perfect for a holiday themed EI. I was really surprised that the musket wasn't a staff. I was totally expecting it to be, so getting the musket was the biggest surprise and I really like the design of it.
Carol of Ol' Nick: Like I said, I'm happy with the way both of these items turned out. The surprise for me here was the guitar. That was definitely not what I was expecting. A great set of EIs!
Changeling Babies: I honestly didn't expect to get anything from the babies that I would use, but I find myself in love with the horns. I am eager to see what they do now, rather than forgetting that I have them.
Fallen Wish: I'm in love with the Fallen Wish this time around. It looks like our little dragon will be an oriental style and he is adorable! I really like the goggles in the up pose and the eyes are cute, even if we have the same ones in a different color. I like the soft blue better than the yellow. I also like the subtle little halo.
Gimpi: The gimpi is another one that I love this time around too. The scarves are cute and I need to hug the unhappy teen gimpi. I adore that we can sit on the bike. Probably my favorite pose, though, is the Stripped Scarf Attack.
Infernal Spirit: I like this evolution for the most part, but the top armor piece is a little bulky for my tastes. I really like the bottom part and the first mask pose and the flaming tendrils are pretty cool too.
Jinxi's Charm: I am really happy that the Jinxi has been so consistent in following its theme. I like the item designs in this evolution, but I can't see a time when I personally will use them. They look terrific though and the colors on the commencement chant are gorgeous.
Nano-C: Maybe the Nano-C just isn't for me, because none of the evolutions so far have had anything that I will use. I do favor a fantasy flair more than a high tech one, but that's not to say that I wouldn't like any tech. I guess I was just expecting something more sleek and less bulky. Maybe something in the future will catch my interest.
Carol of Ol' Ebenezer, Carol of Ol' Nick, Changeling Babies, Gimpi, and Fallen Wish.
Carol of Ol' Ebenezer: The Copper Twopence gives us a hard choice in having to choose between the two carols as each were beautiful. The starting poses with the COE were awesome. The cigar smoke was really neat and I love the horn. Now that it's evolved once, I miss the smoke, but I am really liking the reminder of the past pose. I just adore the detail on the ornament. The ghost of Xmas past is cute and the hat is elegant, but I'm not sure I really like the style all that much. The way it layers with my hair is funny to me, a tiny pixel of hair sticks out the back.
Carol of Ol' Nick: The other option of the twopence is just as beautiful. I loved the cinnamon stick poses and I couldn't be happier that the hand poses remain when it evolved. The ghost of Xmas past on the CON is cute and we get another elegant, gorgeous ornament and another fragment pose as well. The hat here layers a bit better with my hair, but I'm still not sure I like the style. I hope we continue to get clothing from the pictures of the two carols that was shown when we made our choice.
Changeling Babies: Okay, so now the babies have a unibrow and pointed ears. Hmm, troll? Possibly, might still be too early to tell. I still don't care for this item. The pacifier poses make me think about the days when that was the style for middle school kids and I shudder. The only redeeming pose for this item is where you dangle the babies. It's hilarious and I could even see myself using it. I wouldn't be surprised to see an upcoming arena entry of a Micheal Jackson avi dangling a baby.
Gimpi: Ah, to the poor little gimpi. Now, while I don't care for the child pose, I rather like everything else. The side bags with the wings are cute, and I hope they turn into backpacks.
Fallen Wish: The mini's body has gotten a bit longer. It looks more and more like it will be a dragon. The horns are a bit more well defined and now it seems to have a tail. People seem to be convinced that it will be a eastern style dragon, but it still could actually be either one and I retain hope that it will be western, if only for the possibility of getting fantasy esque half dragon poses if it is. That would be my wish! The chuu pose for the mini is adorable and I like the design for the shoulder wrap. The ear drop is cute as well, I hope we do end up getting a mini evolution this coming Friday.
EI Poses Fix: I was happy to see that they have fixed it so that we have all the poses back from those massive EI's. The biggest surprise, though, was the Urn. Who would have thought we were missing end poses! I think the new poses revealed here were more exciting to me than all the other items that actually evolved this week! It makes the urn that much more gorgeous. The shield, the shoes, the new top, and the pants, not to mention the crest. They're all beautiful and elegant and now we have a bottle of white wine too! All in all, I'm happy they came up with a fix.
Captain Ara's Nestegg, Coocoon, Dander, Fallen Wish, Padmavati's Lotus.
Captain Ara's Nestegg: For the second evolution of the egg, I'm really happy with the poses, especially the clothes! This item will allow some really cool pirate avis and I think I may have to get another one or two.
Coocoon: I really like the fact that we continue to get each pose in the three different color schemes. I like all three. I think I was just as happy with this evolution as I was the last. I really like the gloves and stockings and even the shirt, while a bit odd, looks kind of cool. The moth fairy is neat looking too. I'm looking forward to seeing what we get in the future from the coocoon.
Dander: Something I'm not sure that anyone else noticed, if you click on the first pose, the dander itself, you get dust on your hands. Interesting. The caplets and the beret are quite cute and the big buddy is pretty cute too. Still not necessarily an item I will get a lot of use out of, but it is cute.
Fallen Wish: It is becoming plausible to me now that the Fallen Wish could indeed become a dragon. The two points of the star on its "head" could easily become horns. I am hoping if it does become a dragon, it will be a western (fantasy) type dragon. I have a few ideas I'd definitely like to see if it followed a fantasy type dragon. As for the face plate and shoulder drape, they're alright, but not exactly my cup of tea.
Padmavati's Lotus: I don't care much for the naga heads, but I love the naga tails. I think this was a wonderful way to end the item. I can't wait to make a naga avatar! For an item that I was originally unsure of, this has become one of my favorite EIs.
Fallen Wish, Infernal Spirit, Padmavati's Lotus, Picolitrosso's Urn, Trick or Treat Tote.
Fallen Wish: Out of this stage, the only pose I really like is the Blanket. He's a cute little star. I don't like the bandanas. They never seem to look right on my avatar. I'm really hoping for a good mini-evolution this Friday.
Infernal Spirit: Being late on my feedback this time turned out to be a good thing. Our newest EI. I like the ball of flame, it looks really cool and I'm liking the parchment too. The item makes me think of either demon summoning or Indiana Jones (but I think that's just because of the avatar's outfit on the announcement XD). I have high hopes for this one. And on a side note, I like how they're including who is doing the item. I think they realize that we will dig until we find out.
Padmavati's Lotus: Holy skins batman! I actually like the variety of skins. I don't have much use for the rebirth pose, but the serpent's prana pose is kinda cool. I'm stuck on the skins though. I like them a lot. I forsee many brightly colored avatars in my future.
Picolitrosso's Urn: I can't say that I'm surprised by the amazing end to the Urn. Pepper tea does such elegant work and I love the new additions. My favorites are the glowing white coat and the crescendo and finally the glowing lanterns. I also really like the sword. The recolors may have confused people, but I like that they are there. A lot of my favorite poses were brought back, but I still want to see all the poses. I do really wish there was some sort of news on a solution or timeline for Gaia to fix the pose limit issue. I am glad that pepper tea thought to ask our opinion on what we'd like to keep and what we'd like to lose though.
Trick or Treat Tote: The Tote went a completely different direction than I had originally expected. I do like it, but the dentist stuff creeps me out. I have a fear of dentists, so I'm not to ecstatic with this ending. I do really like the marshmallow earmuffs and handmuff. I like the cavity cloak and the cavity king himself. I just wish the creepy dentist didn't have to be there.
Captain Ara's Nestegg, Dander, Death Whisper, Enchanted Book, Fallen Wish, Jinxi's Charm, Trick or Treat Tote, Yama no Tamago.
Captain Ara's Nestegg: I think the only poses I will use from the first evolution of the nestegg are the bandanas. They would be good for a nice pirate outfit. Other than that, I really don't have a use for the baby birds and the earring is huge. I understand why, I just don't think I'll use it. It kind of reminds me of Sinbad. I think as the birds grow (as I'm sure they will) I will like them more.
Dander: This evolution for the Dander is cute and has some poses that I could see myself using. I like the slippers and the hand warmer. The boots are even cute. I don't know that I'll ever use the neck warmer, but it, too, is cute. I think I'm going to end up liking the Dander more than I originally thought.
Death Whisper: Hooray for this evolution of the Whisper! I love it. I think the Awakened pose is my favorite, but the power, caster, and death wraith wings are all great. The Death Wraith cloak and the Death Wraith itself are spiffy too. I think all in all, this stage is the best the Whisper has had in a while.
Enchanted Book: The book finished up this week and I can honestly say I was a little sad to see it go. For an item that had slow start, it finished spectacularly! Personally, I'm not too fond of the person poses, but I like the rest of the new poses. The hair is a little crazy, but I like it. The dress is pretty and I love the palace backgrounds. Perhaps my favorite pose though, is the toes cut off. I was ecstatic to see a pose throwing back to the original Grimm Brothers tale of Cinderella rather than just Disney.
Fallen Wish: While not a full evolution, it does appear as thought the Fallen Wish will be giving us mini-volutions. This weeks were amusing. A lot of people seemed to be a bit upset by the new poses, but I just find them funny and I'm actually a bit fond of the cloud junk and cloud bra. The stars not so much, but they are still funny.
Jinxi's Charm: A new EI and I rather like it so far. It's cute and I like the stitched heart pose. I'm eager to see where it goes.
Trick or Treat Tote: I'm probably still in the minority here, but I like the Tote. The Cavity goblin and the Marshmallow ghosts are cute. The bloody hospital gown is good and I'm loving the string of teeth. The toothless mouth pose just tops it all off. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's following the theme nicely.
Yama no Tamago: The final evolution of the Yama was fitting. I really like the Hakaba background and seeing the Tachi made me really happy. I expected the Tengu skins and was not disappointed and the hakama and the fans are really nice. The only downside to this is that I find myself wishing I had more than one.
Fallen Wish, Gimpi, Gro-gain, Padmavati's Lotus, Picolitrosso's Urn, Titan's Legacy, Trick or Treat Tote
Fallen Wish: While cute, I don't really have much use for any of the poses in this evolution. I also think the headphones pose is a bit random. I hope that it does have mini evolutions like the Urn. I'd rather like that not to be a one time thing.
Gimpi: I like the hat and the skull collar pin with and without the tie. The little gimpi remains cute. I have high hopes for what this EI will do.
Gro-gain: The gro-gain is really sticking with it's theme and I love it. It's really funny. Granted, there hasn't been really anything I'd use, but I still like the item. The new eyebrows layer really strangely with my hair, they go under and come out the back. It made me grin a bit. I can't wait to see what grows out of this EI next.
Padmavati's Lotus: This item has kept me guessing with each stage. I've really liked some of them and been really disappointed with others. For me, this stage is another win! I love the garuda bottom poses and I think I'll be using them quite a bit.
Picolitrosso's Urn: The urn continues to be one of the most gorgeous items. I love the subtle colors on the ethereal flame poses for Picolit and Rosso. The helmet mask is amazing and I really like the feathered mask. The cape might force me to have a reverse avatar. And the sash is beautiful. I'm really pleased with this evolution and now I'm eager to see what the mini-volution will give us.
Titan's Legacy: There really isn't much to comment on yet pose wise. I am really happy that it won't have generations though. I was hoping that was how they would work this item. As for the new pose, all I can really say is that it reminds me of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Trick or Treat Tote: I think my favorite pose this time around is the candy graveyard, followed by the breezy gown. I'm really liking this EI. Candy getting revenge!
For the week of: Oct. 10
Coocoon, Death Whisper, Holy S#17, Kelp o'th' Loch, Picolitrosso's Urn, Trick or Treat Tote
Coocoon: I'm rather pleased with the latest evolution of the Coocoon. The large moths, while not something I will use often, are really pretty and I like the masks and the sashes. I continue to be completely enamored with the black and purple motif and I think that is what really wins me over.
Death Whisper: A lot of people really seem to like the new sword the Death Whisper gave us. It's kind of neat, but not my cup of tea. There wasn't really anything in this evolution that wowed me, but there hasn't been in quite some time. I think the out cry of people wanting a weapon EI took over this item. It doesn't really seem to have a really cohesive story to it and that is what gives me a lot of enjoyment with the EIs.
Holy S#17: I'm not really sure what to say about this one. It is hilarious and will work on a joke avatar, but not something I will use on a regular basis yet.
Kelp o'th' Loch: The Kelp started out as an item that had no poses that I would use. Then with the last couple of evolutions, I've been really impressed. It finished off wonderfully with the monster tails that look so similar to an edit Yorugami did. I was happy to see those and I liked the completely random add of the celtic cross. Overall, this item really surprised me and I'm happy I did buy one.
Picolitrosso's Urn: I have to say that I look forward to the mini-volutions of the urn as much as I do the full evolutions. The ear cuff is cute and the head wrap made me raise my eyebrows a bit, but the wrap itself is gorgeous and a wonderful addition to the poses we have. I remain hopeful that Gaia fixes the issue with the number of poses allowed before the urn ends, because I'd really rather not lose any of them.
Trick or Treat Tote: I still love the tote, even though it didn't go in the direction that I thought it would. I love the little candy corn guys still and I'm wondering how they will change next. I'm very happy that we continue to get mouth poses and I hope that continues. The pepto pose was hilarious and I really like the sweet shower pose.
Dander, Fallen Wish, Padmavati's Lotus, Picolitrosso's Urn, Trick or Treat Tote
Dander: The dust bunnies are super cute. I don't forsee them as something I will use that often, but they are adorable. It was what everyone was speculating and now I'm kinda wondering what else likes in store for this item.
Fallen Wish: I really like all three poses for the Fallen Wish. The shooting star pose was something I expected when I bought the item and I was surprised that it wasn't in the first set of poses. I really like the circlet and the hair band is something I can see myself using quite a bit.
Padmavati's Lotus: I am really interested in the Hindu religions and legends, but I'm not sure how well it's working out as an EI. There have been a couple of poses that I've really liked, but this latest one leaves me wishing for something more. Something I would use. The cosmic snake thing is kind of cool, but nothing that I would use.
Picolitrosso's Urn: This is the best out of all the items that evolved this week, IMO. I absolutely love each and every pose and I wish I had more urns! I love the flame mask and the opulent mask the best. I can't rank anything else because I just love them all. I've seen some beautiful avi's made with the new poses already and I can't wait to see what lies in store for this elegant and beautiful item!
Trick or Treat Tote: I was actually expecting the tote to evolve today, so I was happy and excited when it did. I find the candy corn guys cute and the corns and corn piece are hilarious. The yumyum mouth is great. I even like the jumper. I am hoping now that each evolution includes some sort of pose for the mouth and I do hope that it includes more Halloween traditions than just the candy corn. Maybe Pumpkin, Black cat, etc. I can't wait to see next weeks evolution for this one!
Captain Ara's Nestegg, Death Whisper, Enchanted Book, Gimpi, Inari's Beads, Picolitrosso's Urn, Titan's Legacy (Seed), Trick or Treat Tote, Yama no Tamago
Captain Ara's Nestegg: I try not to be too judgemental or hopeful when a new EI comes out, but I have to say that I have hope for this item. Do I sense pirate items? I love pirate stuff! Don't let me down Captain Ara! I rather like the hairpins, although I don't really have much use for the egg poses. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed on this item to yield some really cool poses.
Death Whisper: I haven't been truly impressed with the Death Whisper in a long time. It's disappointing because I loved the starting poses and those still remain my favorite. I guess from its original description I expected something different. This latest evolution I do like better than the last few. The whip has its merits, but that's really all I have a use for right now. I hope that it gets better before it finishes.
Enchanted Book: I was a little worried about the book for a while. Personally I liked something out of each evolution and was looking forward to happily accepting the one Kresnik thought he didn't want. That all changed this week. It got even better and now he's going to keep his.
Gimpi: I wasn't really into the first evolution of the Gimpi, but with this newest one, I'm sure I was one of many who was forced to "aww" at the cuteness of the poor little gimpi. I love those little guys and the star hanger was really nifty. I can't wait to see what happens next with it!
Inari's Beads: My favorite EI so far had to finish at some point I guess. While I'm sad that they did end, I'm really excited to have the new poses. I love the ears and tails, even though they're not exactly as I imagined. I can't wait for my other gens to finish up to be able to put on a set. I wish they hadn't have had to get rid of any of the old poses and I hope gaia updates their system soon to fix that. I don't like that the artists have to limit their creativity because of software limitations. Lets upgrade people!
Picolitrosso's Urn: First I have to say that I adore the mini-volutions that are unique to the urn. With that, this week's mini-volution is really awesome. I love the blue bicorne and I can only imagine the sweet outfit that can be made with the jester's hat. My only gripe is a common one, I need like 50 (exaggeration) urns!
I'm also a bit worried about the pose limitation with this item too. While I'm hoping it's not yet ready to finish, I don't want it to have to eliminate poses either.Titan's Legacy (Seed): I'm not sure what to expect or even quite what to think of this item. The only way to get it is from the Aquarium overseer or to buy it from the marketplace. I don't know how it will evolve, if it has to do with the health of your tank or if it will evolve normally. There seems to be some speculation on whether or not it even is an evolving item, but being that is included in the tags on the marketplace I think it's safe to say it is. Lets hope it yields something cool (and evolves normally and not based on your tank).
Trick or Treat Tote: I love Halloween so I was a sucker for this item. The bag poses are kinda meh. The candy corn hair pin is alright, but I LOVE the grin. It works so well with so many of the oculus poses! I have high hopes for this item too. Lets hope there are a fair number of both tricks and treats in that bag!
Yama no Tamago: This has to be the best evolution ever for the Yama! The Tengu is getting ever older. I adore the background and I love the addition of a wakazashi. Out of the animal poses, I like the hawk poses the best. Drinky is doing a fantabulous job on this item, but being Tengu is in her name, I didn't really expect anything different!
