Another discovery I've made is that there are most bugs out at every 3 and 9 o'clock, respectively (sunrise and sunset). as it gets closer to the 12 spots te bugs become unreasonably scarce...though the realism of these statistics does strike me. Alas, I digress... (to the MPT, likely...)
