He pulls her through the portal, and across its dark boundries into an enormous vaulted cavern.
Pure white light shines from the enormous stone orbs suspended from the ceiling. Countless other lights come from numerous floating flames postioned around the room. No smoke nor heat comes from them, and there is no apparent fuel that causes it to burn. The room itself has been changed from the original form. Wooden paneling forms walls around the room and serveral small fireplaces are placed at intervalls, their chimenys heading off into the rock make the room warm and cozy. The floor for the most part remained rock, but it had been leveled and smoothed to provide a flat working surface. Several stone pillars extend high into the ceiling providing additional support just incase. If you look closely at them you can see wood grain, showing that these pillars were not always stone.
Rows of tables lined one portion of the room, their tops strewn with expirements and glassware of all shapes and sizes bubbling away. Another section seems to be devoted to the mechanical and the like, gears and cogs are scattered across the table tops. And a Final section seems devoted to the arcane. Rare minerals and strange pieces lie in half completed states. All around the room there lie cabinates filled with tools of all sorts, caldrens and pots and pans, measuring devices of all types, for all substances. Open tomes rest in various places, their pages marked with ribbons.
In one corner of the room a small library lies on bookselves and in piles on the floor. Opposite of it lies cabinates and shelves full of various materials required for his expirements. Vials and test tubes, condensing coils, stoppers and their like lie in bins. A smaller section is devoted to the mechanical workings, its bins filled with cogs and gears, screws and bolts, rivets, nails, and other connecters, And pieces in all shapes, sizes and compositions. To the side the wall is covered with possible supplies needed for magical work, the standard components used in the daily spell use, various focuses, and the more obscure components are all gathered here.
The floor in one section is open, the reason is clear, a small tray of chalk is lying near by a circle marked into the floor, of to the side of that a more permanent circle is carved into the floor, light pulses at random intervals from the markings around the parimeter. Around it all a circle is marked in paint providing a semi permanent barrier for others in the workshop. A small portable forge lies at the edge of the largest circel, close to one corner of the room. It is clearly used in additional work for possible enchanted objects. Small piles of books lie scattered about in it, and tomes lie open to diagrams facing the circles . The Workshope has numerous offshoots though. One leads to a long dark hall way. Another, a small side room filled with the smaller expirements. Yet another glows with a warm ruddy light, heat wafts from it, making the light warp and the shadows dance. A small wooden sign is hung from the overhang, letters burned into its surface. It leads to the forge.
The forge room is set up so that there are always more than one project possible at a time. To the right, a kiln for pottery is in one corner, its contents baking away, all moisture driven from its core. A forge for metal work and the like lie farther in. To the left, a glass kiln were silicates are melted and glass is formed, Glass blowing pipes line the wall. Around it all a barrier is set. a small circle preventing a majority of the heat from being lost as well as having other effects. All about the room supplies needed are left where they are easyily accessable. Hammers, mallets, mauls and sledges of all composition hang in cabinates near the anvil. A pair of tongs rest near a leather appron and gloves.
Opposite and to the side of the forge area, there lies a room where the floor is covered in saw dust. Various wooden artifacts are being built here and the tables are covered with the supplies neeeded. hammers, nails, saws and levels. Lathes and chisels, all this and more lie in the tool chests.
An offshoot far to the side that leads to a vent opening to the side is reserved for leather work, various hides lies stretched and curring on the walls.
And there is more. More off shoots, more projects, more, more, more. It is a large and bustling place. Filled with light and noise, and people. Dwarves and elves rub shoulders with humans and the more obscure beings as they all work on His projects and their own. They yell across the room at each other, offering advice and laughter and comments all around. All told however, they number less than fifteen, despite the ruckuss that they create. (The Dwarves could have filled the room with their presence alone) They nod when they see their friend and employer walk in.
"Kageryu" gestures for his guest to follow him out into the quieter hallway.
