Why do I love you?
I truly don’t know.
Maybe your smile,
Or your dancing, graceful as the snow.
Maybe your hair,
Flowing gently in the breeze,
Or the way you manage to glance lovingly at me.
Maybe the writings that flow from your hands,
Or the artwork created from loving strokes of a pen.
Maybe it’s your eyes,
Glistening orbs to which no beauty can hope to compare.
Or maybe it’s your heart,
Caring for all and never hesitant to share.
Maybe it could be your lips,
Always willing to meet with mine,
Or the way your arms hold me tight,
Protection from the tolls of time.
Maybe it’s your gentle caresses,
Love reverberating never pain,
Or maybe even the way you kiss me,
With love in sunshine or in rain.
Maybe it’s the way you love me,
Neverending in your care,
Or maybe it’s the way you make me happy,
Just with a simple touch to my hair.
Maybe it’s your tender hands,
Willing to harm and to protect,
Or the way you guide my hand,
Willing to teach but not to correct.
Why do I love you?
I truly don’t know,
But it will always be true,
It isn’t just for show.
My love for you will never die,
Neverending like the big, blue sea,
Nothing will ever get in the way,
You officially own every part of me.
