My Gaiaversary!
That's right! icon_heart.gif I first joined Gaia February 7, 2004, making (yesterday) my Four-year Gaiaversary!!! icon_biggrin.gif I meant to do something cool for it, but I totally forgot.

My first account, Secret Agent Empy, was created on 02/07/2004. Felara was the one who introduced me to Go-Gaia; I was used to chatrooms like IRC and it took me a very long time to get acquainted to the Forums. BBCode was an alien language to me - I was much more familiar with HTML and the little codes for mIRC.

It took me a very long time for me to adapt to the forums, something I would say I haven't really done until just recently. I remember my very first donation items - March 2004 letters. I also remember making a banner to sell my Penguin slippers because I really, really wanted Pilot's Goggles. And I did end up selling them and getting my goggles - and I have that very same item to this day on this account. icon_heart.gif

I also remember my first quest thread - trying to obtain all the Scarves. At the time, there was just one set, and in about five colors. Once I got my Pilot's goggles, it became my goal to have all the colored scarves, and they all represented something different to me. The light blue scarf, like the color of the Sky I'd sail in; and the Red like the sun on the horizon of a new day. Ah, those were the days. icon_heart.gif

Of course, now, I know way more about the Forums. BBCode is way more familiar to me, to the point where I can't remember how to display images in my livejournal sometimes. XD I've also gotten better as an artist, but even though I did have a small auction I haven't tried to host any shops or anything. My net worth in items has gone way up over the years, too. If I sold everything in my inventory, I could probably afford something like a Devil Tail. XD But I have too much fun playing dress-up with my avatar, so it would be boring that way.

I've also met a lot of really interesting people in my time on Gaia. I've come to realize that the person behind the computer screen is not always perfect or "normal", and it's ridiculous to expect them to be. I've learned not to judge people by the way they type. Yep, no more being a grammar nazi for me. Has my grip on the English language slipped a little over the years because of that? Very likely so. But I've met so many new people because of it, grammar and spelling hardly seems important. icon_3nodding.gif

Most of all, probably the coolest thing I've experienced here at Gaia over the years is being accepted as a Beta tester recently... icon_heart.gif And I'm not allowed to say much about that, save that all the other Beta-ers I've met have been totally awesome, and I've had a blast with them.

Well, I'm gonna stop rambling on about my Gaian Good Ol' Days... XD I'm planning something special for my friends for everybody's favorite holiday, Valentine's Day. icon_heart.gif But it might wait until the Gaia Anniversary Ball (there will be one this year, right? ) if I do it at all. I'm notoriously lazy and bad at following through with things, which is one thing that's not changed over the years, unfortunately. But we'll see! :3
