Deep Into the Forest
We wandered in the forest for many hours before I saw scuff mark on the ground from a horse stopping suddenly.
"Come look at this" I said thinking it could have been from the Night Rider I saw that night.
"That could 'ave been from any old horse, c'mon lets keep movin' "
"No... I have a feeling..." I turned toward the woods in the direction I had went down the night before and saw some bark ripped of the tree. "Yeah this is it"
"Whatever you say, afterall you should know better than I as to where you lost her"
I began to go down the hill slowly and carefully as Karatos follwed. After going down for awhile Karatos suddenly stopped and turned around going up "Where are you going?" I asked.
"Sorry, but I don't wish for death, she's a goner man... just forget her."
"What do you mean?"
"Everyone knows what is down here if you go down to far." he continued going up.
"Wait! Do you mean that there are beasts of some sort?"
"I wish... they say that it's the forest that will tournment ya, drain yer energy, take away all yer hopes and prey on yer fears... it's makes ya go insane, you forget where you be.... most kill themselves, and the others never get sanity back. I suggest ya turn around 'ere friend."
"I don't care, I have to find her... besides that's probably just a myth anyway"
"Well I guess it is your choice... but yer makin' a mistake. Wait, maybe I can still offer some help, what did you say 'er name was?"
"Lucia" he pulled out his flute and said "Lucia of The Forest of Rivendale" then he began to play a song, not as soft as the one he heard last night, and it wasn't as beautiful as the one that made them teleport, as the song finished I still had it playing through my head.
"There you go, you should be able to hear her, and you can go in her direction from that, good luck."
I went deeper into the forest as Karatos disappeared from sight. Things began to grow darker and the trees seemed as if they were moving, but I could still hear Lucia's calls and I continued in her direction, but as I went deeper the trees moved even more slapping against me as I tried to move them out of the way, and Lucia's calls began to happen more often. I figured that I was getting close until I began to hear them from all directions, growing louder and softer... it was all in my head now, the forest was messing with my mind. My vision went hazy and I was swaying uncontrolably, I turned and there was a red colored snake in front of me with the dark mark all over its body. I turned and ran stumbling over roots, and began to tumble down the hill, the snake was attached to my arm, and the dark mark was spreading all over my body, I began to scream, still rolling hitting twigs and trees were knocking me around as I hit them until, I hit my head against a rock and all was gone it was just black.
