Hello there...
I've got more than a few things swimming around my head, so I'll try and sort them into some kind of order.
*Watched Star Wars: A New Hope this morning. First time I've watched it in a long time. I think it's actually been over a year. I rarely watch any of the Star Wars movies anymore, but my love for it still remains strong by the fans I interact with and the games I play. (Much love to Battlefront II.)
I was struck by how much less I enjoyed watching it. The last time I had returned to the movie after a long period of drought I had found it invigorating and even surprising on some levels. This time I was actually a little bored at certain points in the movie. Is there something wrong with me, was I just in a weird mood, or am I just not as enthusiastic about it as I used to be?
I enjoyed reliving much of it, though. Especially when observing the nuances of the acting. Each character was performed admirably, from Tarkin to Luke, and for some reason I noticed a lot of little details that I had somehow missed before. Or I may have just forgotten...
*Question: Did Lucas cut scenes or part of scenes for the digitally remastered version? I noticed some transitions that weren't as smooth as they should have been...
*Has anyone written a book about Biggs Darklighter? That could be an awesome book about his tragic story...
*Still no comments on my Golden Compass blog. I even copied it over to my Blogger site, but still no luck. Seems to be a whole lot of wasted effort at this point...
*Currently playing Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 on my PS2. The wrestling games are good, but they keep making the same one over and over again. WWE in general has been losing its competitive edge ever since the Monday Night Wars ended. The same could be said about America after the Cold War...
*Met a pretty lass in my Geology class. She's 22, has a car, is a gamer, and plays D&D with her roommates. I think I'm in love...
Did I mention she was a gamer? biggrin
*Loving my Ethics class. All we basically do is argue and debate for an hour and a half. My teacher turns everything we say against us, and does it well. I've been able to stump him a few times, though, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Got into a good debate with him in my last class over whether or not Football is a mindless sport. I took the position that its not, and he took the position that it is.
The class is starting to mess with my others though. I caught myself trying to instigate a philosophical argument in Geology, and had to remember that it wasn't exactly the right place and time.
*My speech class is fun as well, and I'm actually learning a lot. My teacher looks like a thinner version of Drew Carey, used to be in the Army, and used to be a baseball Minor League umpire. Great guy and very good at his job. My second favorite class, but my favorite teacher.
*Glad my life is back on track, but a little depressed that it took so long to get back on my feet. I'll be twenty in a week or so, and I am nowhere near where I wanted to be at this point. (Whether it's possible for me to be there is beside the point...)
God Bless,
May the Force be with you, always...
