BS.
I'm officially fed up with work. icon_neutral.gif

People say that this time of year is the most "wonderful" time of the year, or the "happiest" time of the year. I don't experience that side of Christmas. I get the side that allows me no time with my family and forces me to work long, shitty hours with ungrateful customers who b***h at me because their damn coupons don't work with doorbusters. Work has officially ruined my Christmas.

And what the ******** else is wrong with it? My boyfriend's getting his wisdom teeth out on Thursday and the oral surgeon told him that somebody would need to take care of him the first few days after the surgery, so I requested to take those days off of work more than a month ago, and now my new ASM tells me that just because she didn't need anyone to take care of her the days after she got her wisdom teeth out, I can't have those days off. She also gave me some BS about how "we all chose to work in retail and we all know that the week before Christmas is the busiest week of the year," so apparently I'm supposed to expect to work those days, even if the doctor says my boyfriend needs somebody to take care of him. Hmmm, let's think about that for a moment...

Oh. Right. Boyfriend's health > work, last time I checked. And I don't care what she needed after she had her wisdom teeth out. I'm listening to what the doctor says that my boyfriend needs, not what my manager at work thinks he doesn't need. icon_neutral.gif

Additionally, she has me scheduled to work on Friday (one of the days I requested to have off) from 7 PM to 12:30 AM, and then on the VERY NEXT DAY she has me scheduled to work 5:45 AM to 2:45 PM. What the ******** was she thinking? I'd might as well not go to sleep that night if she expects me to work those hours! But I'm probably not going to work those days, in any case. We're going to call the oral surgeon tomorrow and see exactly how long he'll need somebody to take care of him, and I'll try talking to my ASM again. icon_neutral.gif But even if he didn't need somebody those days, I'm still not going to work those hours.

I'm thinking about calling in sick on all of those days even if the surgeon says I don't need to take them all off, just because I asked for those days and I deserve those days.
