Amazing Literature of the Finest Quality... Kind've. Kind've as in not really.
My first hand-experience into the Literary World of the AB/DL community. I aim for hyper-realism and original characters that most likely the average internet-goer won't be able to relate to since they're usually part of higher-standard society (Such as a popular prep of high school).

Inspired and based off of The Devil and Tom Walker, this story will ALSO include:
-Diapered female
-No furries. Don't do that kind've thing, to break all your hearts.
-Awesome material.

Just read, jeez.

To Leave Behind for Happiness - Prologue

“… And if you add a quart of theorems into the surplus state, you get… Well, we’ll find out…”

Suzanne lazily hung her head a few inches off the front of her school desk, her back bent at an uncomfortable angle and her arms resting parallel to each other on the wooden surface in front of her, one hand rolling her pencil up and down in habitual repetition.

One of her classmates noticed her dull impression, noted the state of her face, and gently leaned over ever-so-slightly to tap her on the shoulder, “Uh… Suzy, you’re drooling…”

Suzanne’s brown eyes opened by a fraction of an inch at her neighbor's statement before feeling something slickly fall out of her mouth. Her previously-sleepy eyes jolted open at the fact that she was drooling during her quick nap, and any notion of fatigue quickly evaporated as she took one of her sugar-white sweater-sleeves and wiped the saliva from her lips, dragging a string of her light brunette hair with it while trying to act like nothing had happened. Luckily for her the teacher didn’t seem to notice.

“Now class, I’d like you to add the substance of what we’ve been working on to the trinitrogen dichloride liquid I gave you this morning.” The teacher’s droning voice felt like a light buzz in Suzanne’s ears, further proving why she felt so noxious so soon after class had started. A quick scan of the room revealed that it had had the same effect on nearly everyone else in the class, with every other student lightly snoring to the rhythm of the teacher’s twenty-minute sermon, “Remember to only add a little of the chemical to the beaker; you don’t want to upset the chemical’s feelings…”

Did he really say the chemical’s feelings? Suzanne wasn’t sure if she was still in her previous daydream or not; it seemed like people were saying things that weren't really said in reality. Oh well, it didn’t matter. Her partner sitting next to her seemed to have a good idea of what to do.

“What’d I miss?...” the brunette’s tired voice addressed the petite girl, who was gracious enough to wipe away Suzanne's slobber that had fallen onto the oak-desk.

“Nothing from what we did yesterday,” she answered simply, flipping open her chemistry book to the page that detailed what their teacher had been telling them to do for the lab, only in much more simpler words and easier-to-understand print than the scribbled mess that rested on the chalkboard. She took a beaker of the thinly-clear liquid that they had slowly added to and analyzed for the past week through her thin fingers, holding it away from the larger glass cup that was filled to the brim with the strange, light-blue creamy substance that the teacher had handed to them earlier.

Suzanne noticed that her partner’s fingers were shivering a bit despite the warm air inside the classroom, although their motion slowed as their owner spoke again, “We just need to add this to that stuff…” Her head nudged towards the azure chemical that rested between the two.

Suzanne nodded, “Sounds simple enough…” However, when she went to reach for the beaker in her partner’s hands, the girl simply moved it farther away, “Uh… Do you wanna’ do it?...”

The skinnier girl gently shook her head, scattering the small threads of her short blonde hair, although she kept her focus on the glass cup below, “No, it’s just that… You did pay attention to Mr. Nathaniel’s directions yesterday and added all of the right stuff, right?”

Suzanne blinked, thinking about what the blonde had just asked her. Since the beginning of this week, she had paid only minimal attention to the lectures; enough to keep her eyes open during any lessons and add whatever colored chemical that looked similar enough to what the teacher was holding up at the time. She followed the girl’s gaze to the glass cup and shared her vision, “Uh… Yeah, of course…”

It was obvious that her partner didn’t believe her, but she probably had the sense that it was too late to redo any mistakes that Suzanne had made in the previous days; they would simply have to throw in what they had and hoped for the best. Sighing, her petite partner handed her the beaker, “Well, add it and see what grade it’s gonna’ get us.” If their chemical was going to kill everyone in the room, at least the blame would be on Suzanne, the girl who added the killing substance.

Taking the beaker from her partner's slender fingers, Suzanne fiddled with it between her own digits, observing the swirling colors of gas and liquid that pressed against the surface. “I really, really don’t want to do this…” she nervously spoke, which garnered a quick giggle from her partner. The chuckle didn’t last long due to the seriousness of what they were about to do.

Suzanne twisted her head to get another look at the entire class, only to see a few people actually having the courage to begin the lab. Gulping down the lump that had suddenly formed in her throat, she moved the beaker towards the cupped chemical, her mouth contorting in a frown mixed with anxiety.

“Alright Katie, cross your fingers…” she nearly choked on her own words due to how close the beaker was to tipping. The skinny girl named Katie followed her instructions twice-fold.

Suzanne’s heart skipped a beat as the peculiar liquid in the vial slowly crawled down the length of the tube, reaching the tip of the beaker after what seemed to be an antagonizing second. The young brunette’s heart nearly stopped as a small droplet began forming, before breaking off from the rest of the liquid and falling down to the concoction below.

Drip. One bubble appeared. Drip drip. Several more followed the first, and in no time flat, the chemical began to change. The light blue chemical started to fizz at the top, while the interior began to form long streaks of a purple haze against the sides of the cup, like rushing blood veins.

Katie’s heart had all but dropped to the pit of her stomach, and she wasn’t completely sure if Suzanne was still breathing. Her fingers tightened around each other as the chemical change went underway, praying to whichever god that decided to inhabit the classroom at that hour, oh god, oh god, oh my God, oh God, please work, oh my god…

As if called on by her request for divine intervention, the concoction slowly began to end its churning colors and textures, and as quick as the chemicals reacted, they rested to a complete stop in just the same way.

Suzanne stared with blank eyes, waiting for it to betray her hopes and explode in a fiery gas. Several more seconds passed, and her lips curled into a slight smile, thanking her apparent luck, well, that wasn’t too bad…

Only to hear an even sleepier student’s quickly shouted obscenity due to proceeding with the lab half asleep and adding way too much of their vialed liquid at once, resulting in a sudden explosion of white gas that triumphed the room.

~~~
Review or else. Oh, and just to let you know; no, the chemical bath doesn't cause the main character to lose her continence. I need to get that out of the way first. The main prologue being set in a chemistry room is merely to represent the main character's behavior and daily manerism.
    I never was good at chemistry. ^^; Not to mention I had a habit of dozing off in class too, but since we had our own individual cubical desks, half the time the teachers didn't notice unless they came by and prodded me. ^^;
    If it were not for the fact that I was reading this on gaia I would have thought someone professional wrote this. I can't wait to see what other stuff you come up with. I would really like to find out what happens to Suzanne.
    Where's the ka-boom? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering ka-boom!
    ... oh wait, sorry, channeled Marvin the Martian there for a second. XD
    I like this story, you're off to a pretty good start far as I can tell. ^^ Hope your momentum continues, and we get to see more of this before too long! biggrin
