Well, this is obviously an incomplete guide, since I haven't been on the site to experience the full swing of events, but I'll keep this updated as the events occur.
This guide is being made only to serve to give newer Gaians an idea of what they can expect throughout the year  Please note, though ~ from what I know, the types of events sometimes vary, so some of them aren't annually celebrated
What: Water Balloon Festival/War / SummerFest
When: End of August-First week of September, 2007
Annual? Unknown
Where: mainly Forums, also towns
How: The main objective of the festival took place in the event forums~ people chose which town to base themselves in (Gambino, Durem, Aekea, Barton), and then each town built up points by clicking in the forums: in your hometown, clicking on fellow team members pumped water for your team's super blasto water cannon, clicking in other team's forums threw water balloons at them which gave both people points. The object of the event was for your town/team to have the highest number of points by the end of the event.
In "towns", water balloons could be thrown at other members, homes, or basically anything you wanted to, though this didn't raise any team points it was just for fun. Pools were also placed in the center of towns, where you could actually go swimming with your friends.
Items Given Out During the Event:
To the winning team/town (Durem): Gold Water Balloon Trophy 
To all other teams/towns: Silver Water Balloon Trophy 
Water Festival Shirts (depending which town you were supporting): Aekea  , Barton  , Durem  , and Gambino

Where: Forums, towns, shops

How: The main objective took place in the event forums ~ you could choose to fight as either a human or a vampire, and then you would build up points by clicking the opposing team's buttons in the forums. The more points you got, the more items you received.
In towns & shops, Trick-or-Treating was available. Each time you would go to a house in towns or a shop in the market, a piece of candy was awarded to you. Certain amounts of candy (amounts differed between towns & shops) would give you a "grab bag" with an event item inside.
