Daddy why did you leave me?
Did I do something wrong?
Wait, Daddy! Hear my plea!
Did you not love me?

You left late one November night,
I was sure you would come back,
that it was just another silly fight.
But I never saw you again.

Daddy, for weeks, I cried so hard!
I rarely left my room.
On the inside, you left me badly scarred.
If I had tears, I would still be crying.

I have nightmares every night,
of different ways you could be hurt.
Now there is no one to tell me it's alright,
Because mom is always working while I sleep.

Daddy, I guess you must hate me,
but I wish you would still come home.
Why did you leave when I loved you so much, daddy?
I just want you to know... You were my hero.
