On The Line In Between Reality
Genius and Insanity
More roleplay intros. Yeah, I know, you're bored with 'em. I honestly just wanted to post them here so if my computer crashes, I still have them. Heh heh...

“You’re nothing but trouble, you.” growled a deep, gruff voice, the sound a bit muffled through the warehouse walls.

A few moments later, the doors flew open to reveal two figures, their forms blocking out the light from outside. Their long shadows stretched across the floor before them and vanished as the door slammed shut behind them.
-c-

The two were quite different, one being a rather large man and the other being a slim, but not very well taken care of girl. The man pulled off his sunglasses and shoved them roughly in his coat pocket, his eyes traveling across the scene before him, searching for someone in charge. He gave an equally rough, but much harder shove to the girl and she stumbled forward.
-c-

They made their way to a small man counting money. He looked up, putting down the money on the makeshift desk, surprise fluttering across his face.

“I have a mutant.” The man said gruffly, tugging on the chain the connected to the bindings on the girl’s wrists. “Don’t want her anymore. Heard you were selling them here.”
-c-

“Ah.” The salesman said, standing to get a better view. “Yes, I suppose I could take her off your hands.”

As he said this, his eyes drifted to the girl. She was tall, he would guess around 5”8, and quite slim. Her hourglass figure was that of a model, not a slave. Her long, silky black hair fell down to her bottom in straight strands. A-bit-too-long black bangs fell into her mesmerizing onyx eyes.
-c-

She wore a low-cut white shirt, the three-inch long sleeves hugging what they could of her long arms. A black mini skirt hung on her hips, leaving the rest of her long legs – and feet – bare.

“Um,” the salesman said, coming back to himself for he had been caught in her stare. “What can she do?”

“Controls shadows.” The man said grimly, handing him the chain-made leash. “I wouldn’t take those off,” he said, nodding to her bindings. “She might destroy the place.”
-c-

At that, the man nodded to the stuttering salesman who was now in possession of the dangerous girl. His eyes flickered to the girl, who did not return his gaze, and left. Composing himself, the salesman pulled her over to an empty cage.

“You look more like a porcelain doll,” he muttered, pushing her in and locking the door. “A bit dirtied, but a doll none the less. Name?”

“Rin.” She stated softly. “My name’s Rin.”

On… off… on… off…

A street lamp flickered on and off, flooding the area around it with light, just before plunging it into darkness, again and again.

From the glare of the unreliable light source, you could barely make out a girl, somewhere in her high teens, sitting on the ground in a nearby alleyway, her back leaning against the brick wall.
-c-

She seemed absorbed in the flickering light of the street lamp, not noticing the pitter-patter beginnings of a downpour until it was too late.

She shifted into a position to make it easier for her to get up, then fluidly rose into a standing position. She pulled her eyes away from the lamp, looking up at the sky. Angry, gray clouds had crowded the night sky, the obvious source of the rain.
-c-

Now emerging from the deep shadows of the alleyway, the girl could be clearly seen. A low cut, white shirt clung to her slim, hourglass figure, the three-inch sleeves covering what they could of her long arms. A black mini skirt hung comfortably on her hips and skinny black boots came up to her knees.
-c-

Her somewhat pale face was sharp featured, but beautiful in its own way. Long, silky black hair fell in straight strands down to her bottom and a-bit-too-long bangs hung lightly in her hauntingly mesmerizing onyx eyes.

She was now uncomfortably wet, but could do nothing about it except carefully search for some cover. Why carefully, you ask? Well, that’s an explanation all to itself.
-c-

This girl was a gifted, a mutant, a freak. The cold, cold world was quite un-accepting to her kind as she had recently discovered. The government had ordered their capture and maybe even extinction.

So she was on the run. She being on the run, as many bored kids at home would think, was not as fun or cool as it sounded.
-c-

She controlled darkness, had the ability to manipulate shadows, bend them to her will. It was a unique ‘gift’ that most, if not all, feared.

So this girl, betrayed by her family, hunted by her country’s government, and hated by the cruel world she lived in had one thing in mind.

‘Stay free and alive,’ Rin thought to herself as the cold rain chilled her to the bone. ‘Stay free and alive.’
