I am going to use this journal entry to rant about the stupidity in the Simpsons over use of advertising. Why on earth would the longest running sitcom ever think they needed to spend more than $200 on advertise there first movie is beyond me. All that needed to be done was at the end of one of their sunday night episodes was for Matt to come on screen and say we have a movie coming out such and such at date here is our website. Website just a page reiterating the same info. The Simpsons three billion rabid fans would take it from there. We live in a day and age that if you have something funny, absurd, talented or original, all you have to do is put it on youtube and the world will find you. I am fully turned of by anything that is over hyped, or over advertised. It make me think that "the man" is trying to convince me it will be good when in fact it will be crap. I want to see Evan Almighty, but by the week before it opened I had seen so many commecials, TV interviews and movie clip and previews that i was pretty sure I had already seen the whole movie. Now with the simpsons I am sure they aren't paying for the majority of the advertising. Companies world wide, I am sure were clamoring to do cross promtionals. But really, why to we have to saturate everthing. The movie I want to see is the one where I see the commercial and have no idea what the movie is about. If you can break the entire plot down into a 60 second clip, how great can the movie be.
Okay I am done know. %^_^%
