Memories
It was a typical morning on the Starship.......Butch. Everyone got up at exactly half past Five o' clock... Okay, so they all got up at different times.
But they weren't aloud to eat until the captian got up at nine something.
And when they did, they all got together and ate cereal. Now the cereal was nothing special, and the conversation was even worse. So normally they contented themselves with just eating in quite.
But on one particular day they passed through a veil. No one knew what the veil was, what real lasting effect it might've had, or even if it was there, but ut made them all think.

First, Kiron thought. He thought about his childhood, he had a particular memory come to mind and, for a moment, he went back to that time. Just to watch, nothing more.
He saw himself in kindergarten painting with the other students. Another student nearby was bugging him while he was painting a tree. It was an Autum tree with orange, dying leaves, at least that's what it was supposed to be.
He couldn't concentrate with this kid nearby, so he took of his head. The kids blood flew everywhere, getting all over the teacher, and the other students paintings... But he was inspired. He imedietly took some of the blood and painted the rest of the tree. Now the colors would fade like the real leaves of fall.
The memory ended... Kiron put his spoon down, disgusted, and wondered if he ever really did something like that. Or maybe it was just a dream.

Next, it hit Ricky.....
Ricky was in a dream-like state, going back in time to a point in time he'd almost forgotten. It was a point where his mom was thinking of running off with another guy, when Ricky was just starting middle school. He'd run away from home in protest and was crying in the woods...alone. The cold, lonely feeling inside, the shiver running through his entire body, the painful feeling that he just wanted it all to go away. It was getting dark, the allyway was deserted, no sign of food or shelter in the biting wind. A man passed by, and he cried out for help. But the man walked past him, as if he was a stray dog.
Back in reality....
Ricky could still feel the cold of the memory, and it made him sick to his stomach. He let out a small nervous laugh. Surely HE had never been that pitiful.

Third down the line it hit Reiya....
Reiya was chomping down on her Toasty-O's, when she also went into a dream like state. Everything was dark, the sound of rain could be heard. Then, flashes...flashes in the dark. It was never enough to tell what it was, but you could almost see the people just clear enough to identify...
"Me?" She thought to herself.
A person was doing...something in the dark. This dark, strange...was it rain? She wasn't sure what it was, or even who it was. She tried to move in closer to it, but she got popped right back into reality. She stared blankly into her Toasty-O's, feeling lost. AS if she'd just been dumped on the opposite side of the earth from her destination. Was it a dream? A...memory?

The next to catch it was Mia....
Mia closed her eyes to blink, but when she opened them she found herself in her old appartment. She looked around, confused. The window drapes where hanging loose, as always, giving a dark feeling to the place she once called home. Suddenly, her eyes went wide and her breath drew short. She saw her mother lying on the couch, bruises all over. A frightened look came on her face as she looked her over. This was her mother? The one that had left when she was so young.
Then, out of the other room tottled a much smaller Mia. The young girl had heard her mother moaning in pain and came to investigate. The mother immediatly popped the child away, knocking her down on the ground.

Mia looked shocked. What was this? She didn't remember this.
Then, the mother started yelling at the child, blaming her for all her misfortune. Mia backed up in horror as the small child was beat in the dark. She crouched down, closed her eyes, and covered her ears.
When she opened them looked again she was at the breakfast table.
She looked around, seeing if anyone had seen her strange behaviour. But everyone looked preocupied with something else. Even Riku looked a little dazed....

Because he was about to go into the dream-scene himself.
He dozed off into his own mind, and when he awoke he found himself in the shop he ran as a kid. In fact, he was a kid. This whole flash-back thing had him playing the role himself.
".....Wha?"
He got out from behind the counter, and looked himself up and down. He looked about 8 years old.
"...Is this what they call time travel?" He threw his hands into the air disappointed. "They could'a at least thrown me back more then six years or so. Or maybe into the future, I might be able to cheat at the races that way."

He stepped outside of "his" shop and came face to face with a chocobo(?)
"Kwe?"
"Uh!" He looked at it, startled. "Uh, hi...Laila." He walked slowly around the large bird, keeping his face to it. "Exuse me."
He rushed passed the bird before any real conversation could go on.
But right after he bumped into his dad.
"Oof." They say at roughly the same time.
"Riku?" His dad looked confused, and suprisingly tall for some reason. "What are you doing here? I thought you where running your shop."
"Uuuuuh." Riku thought quick, but nothing came. "Wwwwwalking?" A big grin sprouted on his face. "Yyyes, that's it. Walking. I was taking a walk. So, bye now. Bye!" He started to walk off again, releived to have escaped so easily.
"Riku?"
Riku looked back nervously at his dad, who look concerned.
"Are you...feeling alright."
"Just...peachy."

Riku decided to jet before any more could happen. He hoped he hadn't messed up the space/time contiuom. Riku looked up at the sky and saw something fly over head. He couldn't tell what it was, a bird, a ship... He did know that he'd felt this feeling before, this was the exact feeling... No, the exact moment that made him wanna fly, wanna go to other places.
He didn't feel it as strong now as he did then, but the awe and wonder, and the exciting feeling.
His eyes widened, everything went white, and he found himself in the breakfast room again.

They all looked around, dazed. Wether it was a dream, some forgotten memory, or some twisted reality....it was there, and so were they.
