It's interesting to see the science behind serving yourself at the expense of others, when in reality, cooperation would mean gaining even more, but you don't do that because of the perceived risks of everyone else doing the same thing of working towards their own ends instead.

That's exactly the reason we have a lot of a tension where none should exist.
