In an interview with MTV, Toby Jones, who voiced Dobby in 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, said that his character has been cut from the upcoming Order of the Phoenix movie, raising questions about how several plot points will be handled in the film, such as the original discovery of the Room of Requirement as well as Umbridge's uncovering of it.

Jones said, "I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer — there's so much to include in them."
