The splash of the surf ebbed and flowed across the shore as a young highblood made her way along the beach. A pail filled with various shells clapped against her leg as she carried it alongside her. Her normal overalls had been swapped out for dungarees in her signature purple. Today was the first day in a while that RatDad had allowed her to take a break from training and she was determined to make the most of it. She ran along the shoreline excitedly, her bare feet kicking sand up without a care of who might be in the “splash-zone.” She turned ‘round towards her lusus, tongue sticking out and pulling her lower eyelid down in a teasing expression. The verminbeast sat off the beach, perched on a fence just on the perimeter. He wasn’t interested in cleaning the wet sand from his fur, but conceded he’d have to do at least a little bit of damage control in that regard once it came time to bring his charge home from her day off.
”C’mon, what’re you afraid of!? The water won’t hurt ya, ya big nerd!! Quit bugg’n and have some fun for once!!”
Ratdad stoically held up a single paw that Makkah couldn’t decide was a wave or a refusal of her request. Probably both.
”Suit yourself ya big weenie!”
As she tromped away she spotted one. A a shiny black shell with a ton of grooves in it. She took charging off after it, jumping as she neared to land next to it with her hands outstretched.
”DIIIIIIIIIIIBS!!!”

Sorry for the wait! The beach day begins!! biggrin
It was Dillys's turn to have a day off and Connie had convinced him to go to the beach. Her compelling argument for him to leave the hive and go outside instead of being lazy all day was to find new shells and sea glass for work. Sometimes Dillys didn't give his sister enough credit in her manipulation talents. The redblood walked along the edge on the beach, letting the water come up to his shins. His pants were rolled up to his knees and his sleeves were rolled to his elbows. He was having a good relaxing walk until he turned his attention to another troll on the beach. She was still pretty far away.
Anxiety plagued Dillys as she started walking closer. It was then he felt the large withdraw from the sea; burying his feet in the sand. He whipped his head around to see a huge wave. Crap. He couldn't move his feet! Crush! The wave nailed him and pulled him out a bit. Luckily he could swim.
Just as he was about to make it to shore, a swell pulled him back. He was in the wave, looking at the troll in front of him. She had no idea the wave was coming; she was so focused on the shell. Dillys tried to call out to her but his head emerged underwater.... the next thing he felt was him colliding into the other troll.
