Training wasn't exactly Cain's strong suit, this much showed as he attempted to fight the dummy. But help wasn't exactly an option since as it was not to many people on the island would consider him a friend. Cain sighed, took a step back from the dummy and leaned against his weapon. Things seemed so weird lately, much more after his return from an outside base awhile ago.



The mocking tone in mind was drowned out in favor of taking another lung at the dummy. Cain couldn't believe how bad he was at this, even he could tell his form sucked when holding the weapon. But to be fair he had only used it a couple of times.

It was monotonous, continuously swinging at the dummy almost wishing it would make some sort of attempt to attack in return. It was probably too much to ask for it to even make an attempt to put up some sort of a fight. At least it was almost over according to the time left on his watch, he could head back to the room shower and stretch out on his bed and take a nap before his next shift.

The only bright side was that Matt’s skill with the spear had vastly improved in the last two years, it had for the most part even surprised himself how much easier it had been to defend and attack the more he practice. One more hit and then the watch beeped that he was free to head back, heading to the bench where he had left his things Matt spotted a somewhat familiar face. Standing there he took a few minutes to debate before heading over.

“Hey did you want a sparring partner?”

A voice caught attention and he turned to look for it. Catching on a familiar face and staring for a moment. This was, Cain took a moment to recall the name and only came back with the first half. Matt something. Didn't matter though.

On a nod he turned and leaned against his weapon for a moment to catch his breath. "....Sounds good to me. " The reply was stiff much like the mans posture but there was little he could do about it, he was trying, kind of.
