Even as a child Eukleides had been special, he could summon fire to his feet on a whim and bring the storm into his eyes just as easily. His herd had taken special care of him, and not just because he was the only son of their leader. He had been a foal when he had been taken.
The humans had seen him wrapped in lightning and blazing with fire and had seen his value. He had been more than willing to go with them. It had only taken a few apples to lure him away and it only took a few more to keep him. He had all the luxuries he could ask for, even if the humans couldn’t speak with him he could still show them what he wanted. They brought him fresh food, clean water, blankets and cushions, and they even brought him other foals to play with. He stopped asking about his family, he was having too much fun in this new place. Before long he had forgotten where he had come from.

As an adult Eukleides was as happy as he could be. He lounged in private groves, kept safe by human hunters. The only creatures allowed inside were his follow soquili or humans coming to offer him tribute in the form of food. Occasionally the humans brought strange soquili in with them and it pleased Eukleides to see their awestruck faces when the new horses caught a glimpse of him in his full glory. It was a peaceful, rewarding existence and he got to enjoy it simply for being himself. He never had to go anywhere and never had to worry about anything.
