Flying high above the barren winter trees, Nezza scanned the sky as far as his eyes could reach. Besides him, there was barely even a bird in the sky. It was too cold. He was kept somewhat warm by the heat that radiated from his scarf and his flaming wheels, but he was almost shivering despite it. He'd much rather be huddled under a blanket, or even better, in a tent, right now. He would be too, if it wasn't for Keiko.
He couldn't find her. She was his familiar, his companion, his dog. She flew on wings like him and he'd hoped to catch sight of her flying around, yipping at clouds. So far, nothing. He'd been looking all day to no avail. He was a naturally cheery person, but felt a morose sigh creeping out of him. He was more worried about her than he liked to admit.
He wheeled around in another direction and then blinked as he spotted something. There was someone else in the air that hadn't been there a moment before. It was another soquili! Without hesitation, he began flapping his way towards her, instinctively galloping his legs beneath himself, making it look as if he was running through the sky.

It had been some time since Yao Feng had last fed. Her stomach rumbled. She could almost hear a voice in her head whispering "Meat... meat..." So far it was only that. Sometimes the voice came out of her head and she was no longer able to control herself. Fortunately, she still had time.
She beat her wings and climbed upward into the cold sky above. She herself was better suited for a warmer climate. Her fur was thin compared to the shaggy winter coats of the locals. However, it could be worse. Her fur, while thin, was dark. Up here with nothing between her and the sun, her dark color drew in the light and heated her. With her long tail whipping behind her and her wings catching the breeze, she almost found herself in a decent mood. That's when she spotted him, a garishly colored stallion swiftly moving towards her. She readied herself, then saw that it was not with aggression that he came. It looked like he wanted to talk with her. She almost would have preferred to fight.
Grudgingly, she slowed her pace. She locked her wings in place, letting herself just drift upon the air.
"What do you want?" she asked, eying him as he came closer.
