Rain trickled down her arms and she shifted backwards, further into the cove.
Was it today? Or tomorrow? It wasn't like Flydra to get her appointments mixed up but lately her mind hadn't been quite right. The aftermath of the tower falling, the condition of Austri's arms, Scorpa running off to spend time with that blueblood... It was emotionally taxing on the tealblood. She'd asked to meet with Lorata to spoil her princess as a way to relax the both of them, just two girls having a pleasant night on the town but now she was here, waiting by the cove that the sirens tended to use as a meeting place and Lorata wasn't. Had she come a night early? Or worse, late?
'Such a fool. What's wrong with me these days?' Disappointed in herself, the pigtailed doctor rose from her seat and meandered back to the soft sands of the beach. It'd been an hour of waiting by now. It was clear that whatever mix up Flydra had made, Lorata was not coming. The rain continued to fall and she frowned at it in irritation. Not only was she sad and lonely but also wet and cold. This sucked, it was-
The sounds of someone talking drifted in the air, pausing Flydra's thoughts. What was someone else doing out in this storm? It didn't sound like Lorata unfortunately. Stepping closer, she crouched behind a huge piece of driftwood to watch.
It was always interesting to watch what trolls did when they thought they were alone.
KitsuneAura Flydra is gonna spy for one post and then pop out in my next one!

Tzofia had always loved the rain, not even the accident could take that away from her. The moment she'd heard the first pattering of raindrops on the roof of her hive, she'd grabbed her bag for collecting sea glass, slipped on her sandals, and hurried out onto the beach. It was cold at first, but that discomfort lasted only a moment, blown away by the blessings of an empty beach and refreshing petrichor.
"Peapop, come on!" Maybe she should have been afraid of the storm, of the dark clouds periodically threatening to blot out the moonlight, but for once it was easy not to think too much on fear. Of course her lusus noticed, and maybe he thought it meant she was getting better, because their chatter as they moved down the beach was easier than it had been in a long time. They didn't find much glass, but that had only really been an excuse to go out anyway.
Instead somewhere along the way, there'd been a joking challenge, a sort of a 'but can you move like this?' Tzofia laughed as her lusus' feathers lifted and fanned out, the display the most important beginning of any dance, he'd always told her. She dropped her bag a safe distance from the oncoming waves and tugged free a fan she'd only just barely remembered to bring along, then slid it open with one hand.
She was still laughing as she spun, her fan slicing through raindrops.

Tzofia stopped dancing the moment she heard the rock's clattering, but her momentum carried her through a stumble before she could freeze entirely. Her heart pounded as she mentally scolded herself for daring to let her guard down even here where no one should have come, and it took her a long moment to work up the willpower to turn and face who or what had found her.
In the rain, it was almost hard at first to recognize the troll. But the teal she wore and the sound of her voice were familiar. Tzofia straightened, fan snapping closed in her hand. She rolled it in her hand anxiously as she worked up a nervous smile. Flydra had been her name, she remembered. But why was she here? Had she decided she was angry about the burn after all? Had she come to collect her blood now that her hand was healed? How had she known where Tzofia would be?
"Oh." Peapop was at her side, clearly basking under praise he'd decided must include him as well. Even if he didn't seem alarmed, it was reassuring to have him close at hand. "Um, thank you! I...I didn't know anyone was watching." That was obvious, though, what else to say? "It's nice to see you too. Did you, um, get caught in the storm?"
