If you had told Savannah that coming into conflict with her familiar, calling her a pig, watching the goat storm off and then proceeding to sulk would lead her to the love of her life, she would have laughed in your face. And then probably would have asked if you were hinting at something, proceed to start flirting with you (assuming you were her type) and never recall what the original conversation had been about.

But it had happened exactly like that and now Savannah was looking out at the snow covered plains and thinking that maybe not all parts of winter might not be as bad as she previously thought. With that, she turned her gaze back onto Tove, who had just said something ridiculously cliche that caused Savannah to tilt her head back and give a bellowing laugh. The beauty of her companion was breathtaking. The way her hooves never seemed to touch the ground (even if it was because Savannah couldn't actually see them.) The way her coat shimmered under the pale winter sun, casting all manner of pretty colors on her pelt. The way Tove's altogetherness seemed to glow whenever Savannah complimented her in some manner. Savannah made a mental note to absolutely bathe the mare in compliments from this day forward and she grinned at the reactions she may get from the other mare.

Savannah had never felt so strongly connected to someone before. The feelings she got with other ponies weren't nearly so intense. When she flirted with stallions, she was sly and there was always some form of excitement that came with stringing them along, but that was all she ever did. With mares, there was always the allure of chasing them, wanting to see them flock to her and fawn over her gloriousness, for clearly that's what Savannah was: glorious. (And humble, of course.)

But this... Savannah wanted to bask in the light that Tove produced just from her smiles. She wanted to spend each waking and sleeping moment with this mare. She wanted to become Tove's protector, her confidant, her... Oh my.

She knew immediately what she felt, she had fallen head over heels in love with this mare that she had only just met, but for whatever reason, it felt right. Is this what meeting your soul mate felt like? Whatever the case, she was in love and felt more than anything else that she had to tell her companion immediately. Well, maybe not immediately, but soon. Very soon. The next chance she got in fact.

She was on to great things, she realized happily and she followed her white mare, Ace running after them.
"Indeed, my love!" She said with a grin. "Let us depart to cloud nine together, eh?" There, that was a good enough admittance and she winked at the mare (who looked a wee bit starstruck) and then nudged her back and took off. Upon reflection, Savannah thought, she really did like the winter after all.
