[Brief synopsis]
: Eir had eating hallucinogenic mushrooms and now the two of them are quite lost and turned around. They were gathering herbs and such before hand. I got a little carried away here XD

User ImageUser ImageNimble legs quivered slightly as the young pronghorn huddled herself tightly against the still form of the white equine at her side. The mare had been asleep for some time now and Chimera had grown concern but hadn't left her side. Maybe she was just exhausted, they had traveled a great deal and chimera wasn't familiar with anything around them. Smokey tendrils danced across her body as she leaned against the mare and then she backed up, tail flicking wildly as her companion finally began to stir.

White wings unfurled in a long stretch as the mare opened her eyes and allowed herself a moment to reacquaint herself with the surrounding area. Resting her wings at her side once more she lifted her head and gazed around. Chimera's face was the only thing that was familiar to her, the rest of the area was a complete mystery.

Giving herself a moment to process everything she focused her gaze on the small prong. "How long was I.... asleep." She wasn't sure about a lot of things but she clearly had been sleeping at some point. She wasn't aware of what all had been a dream and what all had been reality so now she was just going to accept the one thing she did know. She had been asleep at some point so she was going to chalk it up to that. And the wild mushrooms. Shaking her head at the reminder she forced herself to stand. "I'm not sure, a long while. It's already almost dark." She said looking towards the sky nervously. It was true, dusk was upon them and they were in lands unknown to both, with know clear way of getting back. She wasn't even sure which direction to take. She wasn't going to let Chimera know she was worried, at least the pronghorn had her to look after her. Not that it was going to do her much good at this point.

Flicking her bushy tail behind her as she thought she figured they could at least seek out shelter. "Come, let us find somewhere safe to sleep for the evening." She said to her softly. At least it would put their minds to focus on something other than their current situation. With a deep breath and a sigh she set forth with Chimera in tow to find them a place for the evening, perhaps they'd run into someone who could make heads or tails of where they were. Honestly she was thankful that nothing had happened to Chimera while she wasn't in her right state of mind, she just hoped that her lack of logical thoughts for the time that was lost to her hadn't gotten them into something far worse than being lost.

Kittredge grinned to herself as she pawed at the strange pile of objects before her. She had found them this morning by a human’s fire and hadn’t a clue what they were. The humans had been looking at them intently as though they held some strange secrets that only the humans could see. She certainly couldn’t. They looked like thin pieces of tree bark but they were bound in thick leather. She could smell the leather; she knew the scent of hide well no matter where it came from. Why they used it to wrap up bits of thin tree was beyond her, and what were the weird black marks all over the bark?

She batted one of the set with a paw and marveled when pages scattered out of it. She did it again and was rewarded with more pages. Kit’s grin widened until it threatened to consume her entire face.

“Treacle, Cream Puff, I know what these are now!” She declared boldly to the mouse and rabbit who were both busy with cleaning up Kit’s teapot and cups. They glanced at her but did nothing to indicate that they were particularly interested in what she said. “These are toys!” She shouted before knocking the entire pile over with great exuberance.

The books scattered in every direction and Kit followed after them batting them with her paws and knocking them into the air to snap at them with eager jaws. She tittered happily at her new game. She would have to share these marvelous things with her sisters; they would be most thrilled by them.

She had only been playing for a few minutes when she suddenly froze and stared out into the darkening area. Her oversized ears twitched this way and that as her pupils dilated. She scented the air just to be certain before bursting into laughter. Something was heading her way. Oh the day was not yet done and there was still plenty of fun to be had.

“Stop!” She shouted at her companions. “We have guests coming! They must have tea!” The overgrown Cheshire darted back to her makeshift table -a large stump- and started setting things up for another tea party forgetting that she had already drank all the tea.

“Now we must make them feel welcome so that they will stay and play and then leave and bring us back many cakes to say ‘thank you!’” Kittredge said settling into her place at the head of the stump. “Now, with your best singing voices!”

Kittredge cleared her throat and began singing one of her favorite tunes, “Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe!” She was enjoying the song so much that she scarcely noticed that she was the only one singing. It would be a pleasant welcome for their guest regardless.

Essentially they were lost in a dreamworld, a place where everything was just a mirage, an illusion. None of it was real, but it felt so. Flicking her tail as the pair walked along she wondered if perhaps she just needed to see herself being home and it would happen. Oneiroi had chosen them, each of them and she had faith that in the end it would all make itself clear to her. As the pair continued along she caught the sound of voices on the wind. Stepping in front of the pronghorn her wing shield her from stepping any further until Eir was certain they could continue onward. Ushering Chimera close to her she moved forward, listening to the voice. Where they imaging things? "Who do you think it is?" Chimera asked looking up at her as the two of them walked forward slowly. "I don't know...." She said as they finally came into view of a very curious sight indeed. None if made sense to her and she couldn't make heads or tails of any of it. The scenery, the items, any of it. She must be truly dreaming. "Hello." It was clear to her by the signing alone this apparition could in fact speak.

Kittredge continued her merry singing until a real beauty strolled into view. She was as white as a dinner dish with long golden flight feathers.

The Cheshire cat grinned wider and purred, “Hello Birdy!” With a flick of her tail and no hesitation she bounded over the tree stump that was her table and wound her way over to their guest. She had no need to wind her way anywhere, there were no obstacles in the way but since when did a Cheshire need to make sense in the way they moved? “You are just in time for tea! Take a place at my table and I will continue regaling you with my song!” It was only proper that guests receive the best of care and entertainment while in her care.

“Where was I?” Kittredge paused as she tried to remember where she had left off. It had been somewhere nearing the end. “Ah yes! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe! All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe!
” She concluded her song with a short bow and an ear to ear smile.

Birdy? Did she mean her? She looked around a moment and concluded the creature must be referring to her but she wasn't a bird. Unless she was making the comment because of her wings, which was likely. But still, this creature was strange. While there were members in her herd with paws or claws this creature was a little different but nothing unlike any she had encountered in her herd. Perhaps these dream creatures were figments of their own likeness but shaped into something a little less similar so as to not confuse one's self with their self. She shook her head at the thought for it seemed almost confusing, but who was she to judge what the dream world held? Everything here looked real enough, the tea the mare motioned towards sitting upon the stump. "Thank you." She said not sure of what to say in return to the mare. Chimera looked up towards Eir and stuck close to her side. "What are you singing? It's nothing I'm familiar with." She said curious to know what in the heavens she was going on about. This was so strange to her. Perhaps she was still having side effects from the fungi she had eaten earlier.

“You aren’t?” Kittredge asked with a curious tilt of her head. “Shall I sing it again? You’ll know it much better the second time through!” She didn’t immediately start singing again; it would be impolite to repeat the song without invitation. If she started an entirely new song that would be a different story altogether! While she waited for her invitation, which she was certain would come the song was a very entertaining one, she set about pouring the tea.

Taking the teapot clumsily in both paws she turned it over to pour tea out of the spout. Ordinarily this awkward motion resulted in tea going absolutely everywhere. Today the tea didn’t go anywhere. She stared at the pot expectantly but nothing came out of it no matter how she turned it. Confused and concerned she set the pot back down and swatted the lid off. Peeking in through the top she saw nothing but the bottom.

“Oh dear. It seems the tea has run away.” She said regretfully. “I don’t suppose it went past you on its way out?”

She shook her head and gave a shift of her wing. "Oh, that's not necessary. It was quiet the interesting tune though." She said keeping Chimera close as the Mare attempted to do something with a strange object. It was foreign to her, much like this place. She had to be dreaming. Tea was something she was familiar with she had always brewed it in a different manner than whatever this object was. It seemed similar but she was still so confused about things. "Unfortunately I did not see it." She moved a tad closer to the female and her peculiarity but did her best to make sure she wasn't staring. "Is there water nearby? Water would be just fine." She suggested.

Kittredge's grin vanished from her face in an instant at the other mare's suggestion. "W-water?" Her jaw slackened rather like she had just been struck across the face. "You can't have water at a tea party! You must have TEA!" She eased her front paws off the stump and padded her way closer to the other mare. "Otherwise it would be called a Water Party would it not? How wrong!" The young Cheshire's tail was coiling and uncoiling like a bizarre corkscrew and different sections of it seemed to be fading in and out of sight at any given moment.

"You, tiny shadow!" She said directing her attention to the white eyed pronghorn for the first time. "I know you must not want to be seen, being shadow, but please tell Ms. Birdy that a Water Party sounds dreadful! She may listen to us both better than one of me!"

"Well, we must still have water in order to make tea." She replied in response to the mares statement about not having water at a Tea party. "I actually have some herbs in my pouch, we could make some more Tea?" She suggested towards her. Chimera stared towards the mare when she called towards her. Her tail flicked nervously behind her and she looked up towards Eir and then back towards Kit. She wasn't sure to agree or not but the logic behind what she said was fairly true in her young mind and she gave a nod of her head. "I don't think a Water Party would be very fun." She honestly didn't like that it sounded like everyone would get wet. Tea Party just sounded fun in her mind.

Kittredge stared at the white mare unblinking for an unprecedented amount of time before her face split into the widest grin it could manage. It stretched from ear to ear almost literally, such grins were Cheshire specialties and only a Cheshire could pull it off half as well as she did if she were to say so herself.

"We CAN make tea!" She exclaimed passionately. Kittredge didn't know what kind of magical pouch this mare had that she just happened to have tea leaves with her but she was pleased by the development. "Does your dear pouch also have water in it? Walking to get the water would be as much fun as a Water Party." The grin on her face didn't falter even though her voice took on a sour note. She hadn't brought any ingredients with her to make the tea itself. She had simply brought the ready made tea with her from the human's fire. If one were to be technical about it she had stolen the human's tea from them and only placed it in her own pot. The humans hadn't been around to care about her taking their weird things so they also wouldn't have cared about her taking their drink.

"We can always send your shadow to get us water while we set the places. Then we won't have to walk anywhere. It detaches right?"

She couldn't help but find the mare quite curious. Where all dream creatures like her? She almost wanted to ask how wide her mouth could open but refrained from doing so. Her mouth seemed so much wider than usual but she didn't want to be rude, even if it was a dream creature. "My pouch does not hold water, just the herbs." She said in answer to the question pertaining water. Though she was fairly certain she could get some help to fashion a pouch that could carry water. Or even a tightly woven basket, but that would require the help of something with paws. Well, tinier paws.

She looked over towards Chimera. "Where is this water location? Is it far from here?" She wouldn't send the fawn anywhere that was a great distance away, she was still too young to be out on her own for long periods. Plus if something happened to her she'd never forgive herself. "Yes, she detaches, but she's still very young." She said to her, since she wasn't sure if she could gather that about the young fawn at first glance. She was tall for her age.

Kit's lips twitched slightly. It seemed the magical production of the tea herbs would be the only good news. "It is far." Kittredge sighed leaning herself against a tree in a dramatic fashion. Her grin was slowly shrinking but the natural curve would never vanish entirely. She had never heard of a shadow being too young to go far away before. Though she had also never seen a shadow take on a physical form before now. Perhaps shadows made real had different rules than the shadows that stayed on the ground.

"I suppose we must get our own water. Unless Creampuff wants to get it." Kittredge glanced hopefully at her waistcoat wearing rabbit. He turned away dutifully pretending not to hear his mistress. Kit wasn't really used to having to do her own chores yet having once been considered royalty. A lack of servants had left her needing to do more and more simple tasks. She missed the days of being spoiled rotten and only getting to do things she enjoyed, like eating cake and fighting the soldiers.

"Fine." She huffed taking her weight off the tree and taking up her tea pot. "You and Treacle better have the table set when we come back though." She turned to the other mare and her shadow. "The water is this way." Her words were garbled around the handle but she didn't seem to care. She just paced off into the woods swiftly and daintily as cats are known to do.

If it was that far then there was no way she'd send Chimera on her own. So it would appear tea was off the menu for now. Her gaze turned towards the rabbit nearby and it seemed to be that he wasn't going to be going anywhere. "Chimera can probably stay here and help them out." She was fairly certain she'd be alright with the rabbit, plus she could dig through her herb pouch for tea leaves. Handing her the pouch she reassured the fawn she'd be safe here and then followed after the strange pawed mare.

"It's quite gloomy today, don't you think?" It had seemed rather foggy to her and it was making finding landmarks near impossible, but she was fairly certain she was still no where near her herd. SO she was essentially lost in a world foreign to her. At least this strange mare seemed alright. Despite being a little strange, but perhaps all dream creatures were strange. "Where did you get that fascinating container?" She motioned to the tea pot.
