[PRP] Meeting (Jordan & Melody)

Jordan ducked out of the medical tent absentmindedly, more focused on the familiar and comforting sensation of the bandages regenerating Ferros's shield than on watching where he was going. They'd head back out to scout once they found someone to partner up with.

We should find a Moon, Ferros suggested. The tone of his thought was less an immediate imperative than a repetition of a conversation they had from time to time.

We should, Jordan agreed with a slight wistful edge, just as he managed to bump into someone passing by, jostling their shoulder.  

[Saliru]

Melody was on her way to restock on some supplies when she walked right into a brick wall person. She backed up and held her shoulder with a slightly exaggerated wince, ignoring the cause until she was absolutely sure she was still in one piece.

Whisper grumbled something about rude boys which finally drew her attention to Jordan.

He seemed familiar but they most certainly had never met... in person.
Apparently even her timing is fashionable. Being a moon and all. Dat crescent mark.

"Sorry," Jordan apologized automatically, focusing on the rather short person currently rubbing her shoulder. "My fault, I wasn't paying attention. Are you okay?"

You certainly found a Moon, Ferros said.

Melody pouted her bottom lip at Jordan just a little and bobbed her head, "I'm okay."
Whisper seemed satisfied by this and simply reminded Melody to act like the proper lady she was, not a child.

She promptly withdrew her lip and offered her hand to Jordan, "Melody Bell."

"Oh, good. If I'd caused permanent harm I wouldn't have been able to live with myself," Jordan said with a quirk of a smile. He shook her hand. "Jordan Miller. Nice to meet you. I really am sorry about that."  

[Saliru]

She didn't shake back, her hand limp as she seemed a little surprised by the gesture. Still, she smiled not to be too rude. "A pleasure meeting your acquaintance."

Her perfectly tended eyebrows suddenly furrowed with concern. "Where were you off to in such a hurry?" She gestured at the bandages wrapped around his arm, "Especially in that condition..."

"I was headed out to scout," Jordan answered, his eyebrows going up in surprise. He glanced at his bandaged arm and shrugged one shoulder. "No permanent damage done, we didn't break our shield or anything."  

[Saliru]

Melody gasped theatrically in response. "No, that simply wont do," she tutted him. "You should be at one-hundred-percent before scouting." She glanced him over and then shook her head, "especially alone. Didn't you hear?" She leaned in conspiratorially, "The horsemen are kidnapping people."

"We'll be at full in a moment, we weren't planning on leaving before we're fully recharged," Jordan assured Melody, looking somewhat startled. The second part of her statement made him frown, though. "Kidnapping people? Has someone been captured?" He sounded worried, an intense note in his voice.

"Thankfully they were recovered," her tone softened to something less rigid. "But nobody wants an act two of something like that." She smiled in a way she hoped was at least a little comforting. "So don't go off alone. Even if you are mended."  

[prolixity]

"Good." The sudden tension in Jordan's shoulders relaxed somewhat. "You're right, nobody wants a repeat of that." It was all too easy to imagine someone else subjected to the horsemen's tender mercies, and he was relieved to hear that the captive had been recovered. "I was looking for someone to partner up with, actually. I don't have a regular Moon partner."  

[Saliru]

"Really? Well, you are in luck. At least for now." Melody spun around to flaunt the back side of her coat, posing as if she were on some sort of runway. "I happen to be a Moon." She suddenly cleared her throat, "depending on who you ask." Cough! Cough! "Excuse me. Must be all this malaria in the air."

The dramatic flourish made Jordan smile, slightly wry. He couldn't help wondering how much combat Melody had seen; there was a somewhat naive enthusiasm to her proud posing that made him think that she might still be pretty inexperienced. Nevertheless, he wasn't going to turn down the offer of help, and it'd be safer for the trainee to go out with a full hunter.

"Watch that cough," he advised, straight-faced. "Your weapon should be able to see to that." A quick grin. "You feel up to escorting me?"

Jordan would be absolutely correct, as exhibited by the fire in her eyes as he accepted her not-so-subtle offer. A fire not yet snuffed down by the true horrors of battle. "Absolutely, though shouldn't it be you escorting me?" She fluttered her lashes at him, clearly teasing with the over-the-top mannerisms.

Jordan laughed and swept a dramatic bow in response, playing along. "I suppose it should, my lady," he said, eyes sparkling with humor. He offered his elbow courteously for her to take.
