Even with some organized chaos about (not to mention Shmothma flapping into walls and across the slick floors), it was clear that Panili had spent hours fussing over her hive before her guests had arrived. In her earlier panic she had whipped through her own living space, nearly tossing all of her papers, philosophy and research alike, on the ground. Books had to be re-alphabetized! Dishes had to be put away! And gog knew when the last time Shmothma had bathed herself – she would have to attend to that, too. Hours later, running on fumes and the adrenaline remaining from sponging off her fidgety lusus, Panili finally had a chance to recollect herself.

She sat at a sizeable table she had brought from the narrow visiting block – she had also propped her writing desk up to it for more room. She didn’t expect too many people to visit (though heavens, she did send out a lot of invitations, didn’t she?) but she had pulled every chair and stool from her hive into the small space. The designated meeting area was the epitome of humble. Charm or not, this was a lowblood’s abode.

Panili scooted her papers towards her and organized them – then reorganized them. She was as antsy as Shmothma was, she realized with a start. Perhaps she should calm down… Putting on a nice kettle of tea was in order.

--

You find yourself following Panili’s instructions, making your way up the steep and winding hills of Busthind. Her mountaintop hive is easy to spot once you pass the layer of misty clouds that obscure the lands below. It’s a tall abode with a geodesic glass fixture on top, something like a lighthouse, but inviting all the same.

Everybody who has interacted with Panili
If your troll has interacted with Panili in a positive, non-Leeroi kind of way, they received an invitation! They are welcome to bring a friend if they would like. Please post your intros soon, as Panili's schpiel will be going up on the 14th.

Sephos Arbola

Sephos grumbled things about mountains and rocks and something about how nothing needed to be this ******** steep, but he kept going anyway. Though he had started out from the Busthind station with a backpack and bags, Maku had taken up his burdens at some point, leaving his charge with all four limbs to traverse the misery that was Busthind's slopes. Sephos rested on a rock, gasping in the thin air as Maku murmured noises of patient encouragement.

Sephos glowered up at his lusus, cloud condensation dripping down his bangs. "Are we there yet?!" he muttered. Well, of course not. But he'd take close. Maku haroomed. His head was misted by clouds, but he was sure that it was not much longer! Maku, however, was not phased at all. Although not accustomed to the Busthind ecosystems, it was well within what the treebeast could manage... indeed, he was enjoying the interesting romp out of his forested home.

Sephos muttered, but he stretched, stood, and kept going. When Panili's hive was revealed out of the mists, he moved his tired legs faster towards it. Finally inside, he set down the basket of fruit and tomatos and other stuff that he'd brought from his garden and greenhouse... and the messy pie he'd baked... and took a warm, soothing cup of tea for himself.

Now that he was here, it wasn't so bad, was it...

Rastin Morden

Rastin wasn't sure what to make of the invitation, even before he opened it. He'd never been invited somewhere before, espescially to someone else's hive. He didn't know what to think, or what to do. So, as was his nature, he let the letter sit on his bedside table for a while, like a teacup steeping on a counter. He went about his chores, had a cup of tea, and gave CatDad a brush. However, the longer that invitation seemed to linger in his peripheral vision, the more he felt curious about it. Thus the teen, seemingly resigned to some inner desire, grabbed the invitation and saddled CatDad for a ride to Busthind.

He remembered the way up the mountainside from the trip he'd taken up as a child, but the turns he had to take to Panili's hive were different. It seemed to go ever upward, through mist and crags he'd never seen before. But with the comforting sound of CatDad's chuffs, all worry of falling back down were set aside. They'd make it there alright, if the mountain didn't crumble around them, that is.

The appearance of the hive was the most soothing part of the journey, and looking down to the world below made him feel a sense of security he didn't think was possible. Shrouded, away, safe. He managed a small smile, before turning back to CatDad.

"Alright, I'll only be a couple of hours at most, hopefully." He explained, undoing the pouches he'd brought from CatDad's sides. "Don't wander too far. I want to see you here when I come back."

CatDad gave a reassuring purr and nuzzled his charge, before nudging him toward Panili's hive. It was a gentle push, nothing more, but Rastin couldn't help but pout. He understood what it meant.

Go be social, I'll be fine. Make some friends. Be nice.

The troll took a breath, straightened himself out, and walked forward. But, before he could reach the door, a familiar voice caught his attention.

"Sephos?" He questioned, turning toward his... friend. "It's good to see you... Unexpected, as it is. How are you?"

"Rastin." Sephos nodded, his face not registering the surprise he felt. It wasn't a bad sort of surprise, exactly. "Hey." Maku moaned a greeting to his cat friend and the purpleblooded troll - it was nice to see them. "I'm okay. You?" Really, Sephos was exhausted but he couldn't really complain (too much).

When they were let inside, Sephos silently set aside a cup of tea for Rastin before drinking his own, and offered him a fruit. He looked like he needed it - Sephos sure did. What do you think is going on?, he wanted to ask, Tall mountain, huh. he wanted to comment. Instead, he drank his tea in companionable silence.

"Good to see you, too." He said eventually.

User Image Chiara was standing some ways away from the hive. She had spotted a sour looking purpleblood she knew, and was not keen on his company. What a prude, the blueblood thought to herself. Rastin was the annoying troll who was so chicken about a little fighting that he had "banned" her from his booth. She thought him weak, and would rather avoid any sort of interaction with the highblood. Chiara was tempted to turn around and leave, but a weird feeling was nagging at her to go inside the hive.

Chiara walked up to the hive, the purpleblood and some kid were already inside. With a sigh the blueblood knocked on the door, and entered without waiting for a response. She walked up to the orangeblood child, and grinned as warmly as a blueblood could. "So," Chiara started, holding up the letter, "Whats this about? Or are you going to wait until more people arrive?" The blueblood waited for a response, presuming that she would have to wait, and sat down on a chair far away from the purpleblood and greenblood child. Chiara pulled out a small handheld device and proceeded to stare at it.

Unfortunate circumstances. Hemera felt downplaying how absolutely alarming she found the letter to be was better than letting her show her feelings of panic. She remembered the spaceship crash...one of the crew members being lost during the ball...was it all connected? Was there some doom with space, including efforts to build up to it?

She was putting a lot into Panili's words, but she didn't have any reason to distrust the kind troll. It was possible to have powers of clairvoyance, wasn't it? And even if it somehow didn't happen, it may be best to be prepared.

The trek was a short one, compared to trolls outside of Busthind. Mera realized she would need to invite Panili over sometime, since they lived rather close. How pleasant that would be!

But for now, she entered the hive with concern. Mera was a little surprised that she wasn't the first one there. Two teens, a child...somewhat familiar facts. One of those teenagers very familiar. Chiara? Admittedly unexpected. Perhaps Panili could make friends with anyone. A good skill to have. In the mean time, Hemera elected to just give a curt nod before keeping to herself to collect her thoughts.

Panili slipped into her nutritionblock when her first guests arrived. She had made it clear that casual arrivals were warranted, and felt grateful that she wouldn’t have to rush back and forth to open the door (or goodness forbid try to flag some wayward invitees up from the base of the mountains to find her hive). She swiftly fumbled with the squealing kettle of hot water, Panili produced hand-stitched bags of tea and cups and flitted into the main room. “Do you want some?” Negative.

“I’m sorry for the wait!” Panili chirped. She appraised the trolls already piling into the humble room. First, there was Sephos. She flushed vaguely orange as she saw what he had brought. He was such a gentleman! Here was a troll who she remembered so, so fondly from her booth. Resistant, somewhat sour, but a lovely soul under it all. A sort of curmudgeonly air about him, which was certainly fine considering the influence of the rest of society. As Panili knew, isolating one’s self lead to a unique perspective. “Oh gosh. Sephos! Thank you! It’s wonderful to see you.” She had slipped close to him and offered him a side hug, her other hand still fumbling with her supplies before she happily appraised him taking a cup of tea for himself.

Rastin was next, well acquainted with the first arrival. Another troll of a similar strain, with interests so specific that Panili couldn’t be convinced their connection wasn’t fate. “Lovely to see you, Rastin! Thank you for coming.” Thankful relief drew over her face. Her first two arrivals seemed the serious sort, the kind she could connect with. Her mission would have some weight.

Calling in next was the blueblood. Panili wasn’t as sure about this young woman, but she greeted her cheerily all the same. “Ah! Welcome, yes. We’ll get started when it seems we’re settled… In the meantime, please help yourself to some tea! I didn’t have time to prepare much to eat… But if you’re hungry I could rustle something up! Please let me know.” She rattled. The troll gave her a sincere, polite bow of her head, noted that she was then pre-occupied with her handheld device, and rushed back into the nutritionblock to prepare more tea.

When she came back, there was Hemera. “Ah!!” Thankful, a troll she wanted to see with a good mind on her shoulders. “Hello hello! Hemera! I’m glad you found the place! Don’t mind me, I’m just – getting ready!” She sniffed and appraised the space in the room. Four trolls so far, with only a few seats left. One side of her hoped that her RSVPs wouldn’t all be met, considering the compact space of her home… But on the other, this was important. She was nearly ready to give her case, and the more trolls in her cause, the better.

"Don't worry about food." A voice called from the door. A familiar greenblood stood carrying not one but two picnic baskets. He grinned sheepishly at how his group had gone overboard in preparations but Nucleo'd felt it only right to bring something to this meeting. He was bringing a lot of guests so it would have been wrong to show up empty handed. That's why before coming, he'd invited his friends to come by The Nightly Grind early to make some sandwiches, pack some drinks, and bake a few cookies. It wasn't anything fancy but this was not a potluck to show off for!

"Hope there's enough room for all of us." He didn't mind close quarters, it just meant they'd be cozy! But that didn't mean the other trolls would like it. There wasn't much that could be done about it so they'd have to make it work. Shuffling in, he placed the baskets down in the back of the room, not wanting to distract from Panili's meeting. They'd serve everyone afterwards or whenever she gave a signal.

"Your hive is lovely, Panili!" He added, impressed by how clean and presentable it looked. It was clear she'd made an effort even with limited time. The orangeblood always seemed so organized, he wondered if her place was always so neat and tidy.

"Wow! It's like a Bloodfest booth reunion!" The teen noted, realizing everyone attending had been in charge of running a booth at the recent Bloodfest. They were all a bunch of ambitious trolls!

Quoting Nucleo's guests and those he directly spoke to but he is open to all character interaction! Just thought quoting the entire thread might be a bit much for an intro!

Eilidh was actually a little confused about the whole space race thing and had planned to avoid it as it seemed to attract many trolls. However, when Nucleo invited her to Panili's hive, the tealblood couldn't refuse. It certainly helped her decision that Xavier had agreed to go as well. Her shy demeanor had her quiet as she looked around the hive the group had just entered. Nucleo certainly seemed to know most these trolls whereas Eili didn't. She slipped her hand into Xavier's in hopes of finding a little more confidence. "O-Oh yes, your hive is lovely." She agreed with her fellow troll friend. "T-thank you for having us. I made some cookies for everyone." She announced quietly, her face flushing a dark teal color as she nibbled her lip.

Xavier had been more than willing to attend any sort of meeting his friends had invited him too. The rumors all around Busthind about the Great Space Race was all abound. It's all anyone seemed to be able to talk about. Really he was here to support his local neighbours and fellow trolls.

"Is this the place...? The directions were fairly clear.. Oh! Yeah look." He gestured to the hive, and upon further inspection the various inhabitants inside. Xavier's brows furrowed slightly. Nucleo had been the one to do the inviting. Hearing they'd have a small horde of like minded trolls potentially only encouraged the jadeblood to go along to see what all the fuss was about. More so, he was concerned and wanted to make sure everything was alright. He'd brought a few seeds to give over to Panili from his garden he and his lusus tended as a small gift, but that could wait until later.

For now they had business to attend too. "Yuh..I hope it's not too crowded.." Xavier agreed in a soft tone, peeking around him and Amonee, both of whom had gone through growth spurts of their own right. The group had all filed in together, in a sort of small cluster of trolls intent on joining the meeting. Whatever was going on..Xavier was worried. No stressed over possibly impending doom if anything.

Anu had settled down just outside the orangebloods hive, not wanting to try and fit her horns inside or shuffle about. Instead the Mothergrub curled up resting her head over her folded claws..alert but not particularly worried about her child with him surrounded by those he told her often enough were his Friends.

As they entered, Xavier felt his eyes scan around the well tended hive. It looked inviting, and even if there was a large gathering...it wouldn't be much different than working in the coffee shop. He felt himself worrying at his bottom lip. That was until his hand became occupied by a certain small tealblood. His fanged smile lightened his worried expression as he gently squeezed her hand, fingers lacing with the smaller trolls fingers. Squeezing, he tried to offer her some form of comfort as he murmured something to her. "It's okay...we're all in good company." Or so Xavier assumed anyway.

His other free hand briefly bump against Amonee's palm..more out of habit from all their walks they'd taken across Busthind together. It was mostly a quick measure of comfort for the jadeblood if anything much like how he stood near his two older greenblood companions.

"Ah! Hello again Panili...I hope yuh don't mind Mum coming along she was curious what all the fuss was about. They aren't wrong, it's cozy in here." He smiled a bit sheepishly as he waved with his free hand to the other troll. The freckled troll pursed his lips slightly, wondering what the warm scent in the air was..it might have been some sort of tea, he wasn't exactly sure as he was no expert on the matter. He'd grown an extreme fondness for coffee working at the Nightly Grind, but even he had to admit it added to the atmosphere the orangebloods hive provided without question.

Others are welcome to interact with Xavier even if he's feeling a bit overwhelmed c: he's friendly enough and wont bite promise lol

"Panili, please don't worry yourself too much, your home is lovely..." Hemera trailed off, smiling in kind before another group of trolls barged in. She turned, personally unfamiliar with the lot, though wondering if she might have seen one or another at Bloodfest. There were a lot of faces at that, whether or not they interacted...

And they had brought food. Well. Mera felt like a mooch in comparison. She should have brought something as well! But didn't. The tealblood would definitely have to make up for that sometime.

"Impressive," she commented to the greenblood who announced his presence first. "And very kind of you. Do you have much experience carrying food through Busthind?" Mera, as per usual, was sincere. "And while it's on my mind, your hair is excellent."

But, there was someone else who needed her attention. One of the children who came in. A tealblood, like herself. This one had the mind to bake cookies. "I'm sure everyone is thankful for cookies during a time like this. Thank you for your efforts." If there was any place a troll shouldn't be nervous, it was here, as far as Hemera wasn't concerned.

At least, not until Panili shared what she had to say.

It had been difficult to remain calm ever since receiving Panili's letter. He'd rushed to the Nightly Grind to pace around inside while ranting to his friend the possibilities of what it might mean until the barista set him to work busing tables. Eventually they had realized it'd be helpful to bring something to the meeting to ease Panili's load and had recruited a handful of their good friends to start Operation The Skyelevator Is Falling. They'd left to trek up the mountain and arrived on the scene.

"Oh my Gog, Paniliiiiii! There you are!" As soon as he was in the door, the jadeblood barreled into the room at the orangeblood. There were a couple of other trolls that he remembered from Bloodfest but he would talk with them later. Taking her hands into his, he looked at her with flustered concern and worry.

"Are you okay? Are we doomed? I've been so worried!" He was the kind of troll that got easily worked up without someone more sensible around to calm his frenzies. He'd been alright during the walk here because Xavier had held his hand and led him around but now he was at the mysterious meeting and his pump biscuit was beating fast.

"I'm sorry, I haven't been able to think straight since I got your note." He let go of one of her hands to rub the side of his face but the distress did not leave his oh so dramatic eyes.

“Ah! Thank you so much, Hemera. It took a lot of cleaning!” She chuckled, gave her a small wave as additional thanks and excused herself.

In Panili’s vision, trolls began to pour into her hive. She retreated momentarily into the kitchen, halfway-between resolution and hyperventilation. “Y’all right?” Yes. She was. Panili adjusted herself. She ran a hand up her scarf and repositioned it, then bunched up her hair and tossed it behind her head. Tonight it had a mind of its own. She was getting a little bit sweaty, after all, from working with the steamy tea and the sudden unexpected crowding of trolls in her hive!

She re-emerged and was happy to spot Xavier. She craned her neck to barely see the crack of Anu before the door closed, and gave him a confident nod. It was wonderful to have the Mother Grub on her side. Her existence – not to mention Xavier’s (not to mention Amonee’s!) was an incredible miracle. He’d brought along a friend as well, and she had brought cookies. Panili could have teared up then and there. Nucleo’s incredible platter and now this! This was truly an assortment of very special trolls. It was hard to believe they were on Alternia, with the hospitality that was being spread.

“Thank you Nucleo! Xavier! And, I didn’t get your name! I’m Panili. It’s wonderful to meet you, thank you for coming.” Panili smiled and looked fondly at Eilidh’s hand curving into Xavier’s. “Go ahead and set them on the table – it looks like we have a potluck now!”

She went to go fetch more chairs. One, two… How many were there now? Seven? Eight? Her hive was almost to half-capacity, it seemed! She was impressed with how well her hive could handle it, but Shmothma was… Not. Screeching and squishing around the base of the hive, Panili rushed over to her and gave her a quick jab. “Shmothma! For the guests, please… Do – something else!” She pleaded impatiently. The creature simply rolled about until Panili increased her momentum in the door-ward direction. Perhaps she could converse with Anu.

But, meeting her at the door was yet another jadeblood. The elegant Amonee Brycer nearly toppled into her as he rushed through the door. “Oh my!” Panili yelped. He suddenly had her hands, and it was then she realized how much he’d grown. And, how small she was. Could she really do this? She was only one small creature. She looked into his fearful eyes and gulped down a knot in her throat. “A-Amonee! It’s good to see you… Yes, I’ll be explaining soon. Don’t worry, I’m sure – I’m sure together we can work something out! You’re such a sweetheart, thank you, thank you.” She was utterly flustered, but it was the best she could do. Panili squeezed her eyes shut in a reassuring smile. “Nucleo is here! And many others. We have food, please relax and take a seat.”

My God basically everyone
Panili flops around and gets overwhelmed in groups of people as always

Adamaz was already leery of this space elevator hullabulloo. How would it even work? Were there floors in space? What floor would the moon be on? Clearly no one was thinking this through. Besides, he'd been burned by definitely-not-mandatory government activities before.

But if his friend Panili had something to say about it, he'd certainly hear it.

The climb was no trouble. He'd made the climb by accident once, and he was younger then. It's amazing what slightly-longer limbs does for scaling a mountain. His sweatshirt was zipped and his hood over his poofy 'do and it's resident roachy passenger.

He was, despite knowing the way, a little late. There were a number of lusii standing outside Panili's little hive, and he mused at how odd it must be to not have your lusus always at hand like he did. Or was it the other way around, that he was the odd one? Whatever.

The hive was packed. He slipped into a corner, wanting to cause Panili to fuss as little as he could by being invisible. He was fortunate in this decision - among the strangers, he soon saw someone he hadn't seen in a long, long time. Chiara. She had gotten considerably taller since he'd last seen her, and he knew with her around, he wouldn't stay invisible for long. How did Chiara know Panili anyway? Why was it always her? He glowered, and mused that she'd probably feel his eyes on her in moments.

Chiara's eyes had been darting to each new face that entered, her fingers tapping on her handheld electronic device. Every now and then the troll would look up from her device and subtly point the device at the new troll. Finally the blueblood pocketed the device and stood up. Chiara heard Hemera's voice. Of course the tealblood would be here. Hemera always seemed to know where to go for information. Chiara grinned, she should stick around that troll more.

"Hey there Hemera!" The blueblood drawled. She sauntered over to where the older troll was talking to some kid. It was a tealblood kid. Chiara could not stand other bluebloods, why on Alternia was Hemera seeking out another of her blood color. Weird tealbloods. The blueblood pulled out the letter she had stolen form someone's mail bucket and twiddled it between her fingers. "Well don't you just know all the places to be. We should go out to the city some night, i bet we will just find all sorts or stuff with you around." Chiara reached an arm around Hemera and gave the teen a half hug, the blueblood then leaned in to whisper. "Why are you here Hemera? This doesn't look like the place a royalist would really go." Chiara stepped back from the hug and caught the eye of an orangeblood who could not go unnoticed, no matter how hard he tried to. She winked at Adamaz and quirked her head at Hemera, including herself in whatever conversation they were engaged in.
