Introduction

Hello! As some of you may have noticed, LOLTERNATIVE and I have been blessed with three beautiful boys. After very little thought we decided we wanted to make a contest to let our friends fight it out to the death compete in a safe, friendly environment.

Without too much ado, here we go!

First off, The Family you're getting into:

The Father:



Name: Manannan Mac Lir
Personality: Mac Lir is a confident stallion who is very, very aware of how handsome he is. He loves nothing more than being admired by the ladies- and admiring them in return. Outside of his flirtations he enjoys travelling and exploring the world. He's often in the company of his friend Asli, and the two have become adept hunters. Asli is the sly feline on the ground and Mac Lir is death from above. Lately though Asli has been spending more time with his mate and Mac Lir finds himself wandering alone.
Involvement as a parent: He will be the primary caretaker in the lives of the foals. Morrigan will also be around, probably causing more trouble than helping. Asli will pop in now and again to check on them and make sure everything is fine.
More info: Mac Lir was always an independant stallions, often wandering off on his own. As soon as he was old enough he left home and after a time he came upon the Kawani lands and began making his rounds amongst teh elligible ladies. He has an appreciation of beauty and an attitude of "free love" - at least until the point e found himself and expecting father.

The news was distressing, particularly since the mare, Foxglove, would prove unfit and unwilling to mother them and Mac Lir would have to raise them himself. He returned to his homelands to seek advice and comfort from his parents, but they were nowhere to be found.

Instead, he found a basket that immediately opened to reveal what was obviously his younger sister. Unable to find their parents and not knowing what else to do, he takes the girl Morrigan back to the Kawani to raise her along with his own children.

She proves a handful, but he manages as best he can and she seems happy enough. Once his own baskets arrive and Foxglove leaves, as is her family's custom. Morrigan attempts to "help" raise the boys, but is more likely to encourage them to misbehave and cause trouble for Mac Lir.

The influence of raising his sister as well as becoming a father in his own right changes Mac Lir, causing him to calm his philandering ways. Foxglove will remain his friend, and at some point she will return and the two will breed again.





















The Mother:



Name: Foxglove Boneblossom
Personality: Foxglove is a weirdo - and that is meant with the utmost affection and the highest regard. She's obsessed with the macabre; monsters and death, creepy rumours and the like. If there's a haunted area; she's there. Seen a dead body? Point her in the direction. It's not that death makes her happy - she mourns just the same as others. But she knows it's a part of life and there's nothing that can prevent it. To die you first must live and that is something that should be celebrated.

her weirdness aside, she's a very happy mare and out going. while initially she will come off strong - she wants to be everyone's friend - she will adjust to her situation depending on who she is interacting with (this includes talk of her interests. Some aren't comfortable with it and that's fine with her)
Involvement as a parent: Foxglove will leave once the kids can fend for themselves. Whether they follow her or not is up to them. Her leaving is not a sign of any ill will - it's just in her family's nature to leave foals to their own (as her mother left her) and if any of the kids follow her she won't send them away





















The Aunt




Name: Morrigan Nic Lir
Personality: She's a very loving and flirtacious young mare who very much takes after her brother, except she tends to go for the wrong types of stallions.

Involvement: She will be very prominent in these foals lives and will act like a big sister to them almost since she was raised by her brother and just recently grew herself. She will likely take them on wild adventures while her brother isn't looking and cause all sorts of mischief. She truly does mean well though.

Other influences:




Name: Asli Belrose
Personality: He's inherited Alayna's free spirit and adventurous tendencies. Shortly after reaching "adulthood" he slipped away from the family unit without a word, off on a grand adventure to see what he might. He feels a small pang of regret that he didn't leave word with someone before leaving, but he wasn't one for tearful goodbyes, and there was certainly going to be tears from someone.

He's grown to understand on some level that their family is very different, and he perhaps most of all. There is some sort of stigma against those with paws, something he didn't really understand. He'd heard the whispered word "skinwalker" before, but he has no idea really what sort of creature that might be. He is sometimes met with fear, where his other family members might only be met with curiosity or disdain. Part of the reason he left home was to explore this part of himself, to see what it meant to be pawed instead of having hooves, and to find out what a skinwalker might be.

He still enjoys to challenge societal norms or tend towards the quirky and strange. He finds those who are different stare less and are a little more accepting to him and his family unit. He is defiant of rules in a lot of cases, though not in anyway that might bring harm to others, at least not on purpose. He still has a good heart and a general desire to be good, if mischievous.

He has a very romantic view of love. Having heard about and seen what his parents did to be together and the subsequent miracle of his and his siblings' birth he believes that love is absolutely sacred. He hopes to one day find the sort of love that would defy all convention or resistance like his mothers' love. He sees having children as an act of miracle, regardless how they came to be, naturally or by the magic of wishing stars. Life is precious, and love is not to be trivialized.
Involvement: He's basically "Uncle Asli", who comes around just to make sure Manannan has them fed and sheltered. He'll play games with the kids and teach them different hunting techniques.

Personality: "Wee Baby Seamus" is the youngest of the three, but not lacking in maturity. He's serious and gruff, and only allows his family to call him "Wee Seamus."

Personality: Most definitely a weirdo who thinks he can see ghosts

He remembers his mother and tried to follow her when she left but he was unstable on his paws being only a few days old, he lost sight of her and fell behind. He returned to his father and enjoyed learning from him and being with his brothers. When he met his aunt he took a liking to her and she quickly became his favourite. Personality: Deep down, Cadeyrn wishes he was had some of the oddness his mother and Midir shared; wishes that he could enjoy the attention given to him by others, much like his father. Some may consider Cadeyrn to be the black sheep when it comes to personality, for he is serious, calculating and always focused on ensuring the family is safe. If he is not the eldest of the siblings, he is often mistaken to be for he is the first to voice against bad ideas and speak of consequences. This personality quirk often has him labeled as a destroyer of potential fun and could potentially bring some negative feelings from his siblings. As he grows, he will continue to walk a 'straight' path, always thinking of the results to his actions and how it will impact his family and himself.

Plot Ideas: Born within the world Upon leaving their baskets, Cadeyrn quickly finds that the is not as free going and 'weird' as the rest of his family. He will spend time with his brothers and often be the mind of reason or at least voicing things that bother him about their 'adventures'. Still young, he will want to explore and live the life of a young foal but with a sense of practicality within it. Later, as the foals continue to play and grow, I would like Cadeyrn to instead focus his energy on a practical lifestyle; ie training to be a hunter or a protector.

Death is my mother Cadeyrn will spend time with his mother before she inevitably leaves. During this time, he learns of her fascination with death and also finds himself learning to respect it. In fact, this is one of the few things that he inherited from his mother aside her physical attributes. However, where she is obsessed with the macabre, her son will merely accept all facts of it and show it the consideration it deserves. He does not seek it out actively, nor will he attempt to find spirits or hauntings, but he will provide the proper ceremony to be given upon the dead if needed. When his mother ultimately leaves, he will stay behind with his father.

My Peacock Father Although he shares the attractive features of his sire, Cadeyrn has little interest of the attention it brings from the opposite gender. In fact, he actually finds the attention almost irksome and often tries to brush it away. So when he perceives how his father not only enjoys it but encourages it, the young foal can do nothing but wrinkle his nose in annoyance. Despite this personality trait of his father Cadeyrn still wishes to be clsoe to his father. He will be interested in learning to hunt, asking for his father to train and teach him and if his father does not, then he will seek Asli's assistance.

Sometimes caution can go to the wind Cadeyrn will enjoy his aunts company and even find himself able to relax around her. There is something calming about her to his more uptight nature. With time, he will slowly allow her to convince him to go on wild adventures with his siblings and even allow himself to have normal fun. This could span over many roleplays, but I would like for at least one roleplay where something -bad- happens. Maybe a broken wing for Cadeyrn or an injury. This will instill once more that though he can have adventures and fun that sometimes these things can still be dangerous. Ultimately, his aunt will be a huge influence in his life, allowing him to come out of his shell a bit more.

Teach me to Hunt from below Despite Cadeyrn can learn to hunt from the sky with the aid of his wings, he wants to also know the secrets in which Asli uses to hunt from below. He enjoys the company of his uncle and will be quite interested in hearing his stories; especially upon the concept that pawed Soquili are feared and often mistaken for something called a 'Skinwalker'.

Protect the Family I'd like to have a plot where a Skinwalker has moved it's territory close to their family's and with it bringing fear and death. At this time, Cadeyrn will be an adult, trained to hunt and protect those he loves. He will go after the Skinwalker, naive of how deadly they truly are and unsure of anything about them aside of what he has learned from Asli. The results can vary depending on the Skinwalker; perhaps Cadeyrn fails and is captured for some time, maybe he is seriously injured, or even succeeds and forces the Skinwalker to move away from their territory.

Love is a grand adventure Despite he may have a fling now and then as an adult, I would like for him to eventually find a mare (or stallion) that truly captures his attention. So much so that he he finds himself throwing his caution to the wind and risking everything for that individual. He will act almost foolish for this Soquili in the beginning as love captures him, trying to impress and flatter them. Should he bond and mate with them, he will want to give them all of himself and provide his new family with not only protection but his wisdom. However, should the match not go well, he will be heartbroken and after time far more guarded before giving his heart away again.

Personality: OKAY SO. I dunno if you know, but elderberries were used in a very common type of booze in the days of yore. ( Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries = your mother was a constantly-breeding rodent and your father was a drunk. XD )
So I'mma just go ahead and work that into his personality, okay? Okay.
Jan is a happy drunk-type personality, but he doesn't need alcohol to achieve it. He's loving, loud, and often makes a fool of himself without a care in the world.
Plot Ideas:
Should I Stay or Should I Go
IF I GO THERE WILL BE TROUBLEEEEEEE, IF I STAY THERE WILL BE DOUBLEEEEE.
Jan will choose to toddle along after his mother when she leaves, sad at the idea of her being all alone. He'll pick up some of her morbid curiosities, but probably won't be as blatant about them.
STARFISH LOVE ME LOVE ME
Jannon will become rather clingy to his mum. Momma's boy to the max. I'm thinking that she, while being a kind and loving mare, may get sick of such behavior and try to ditch him. Inevitably, he'll find his way back to her and cling some more, before she tells him to shove off (in the nicest way possible, of course).

At being rejected by his mother, Jan will use his knowledge of her fascination with death to try to win her back. He'll begin killing things - small at first - and leaving them for her to find. When he is paid no mind still, his his kills will grow larger and more gruesome. Perhaps if you'd like to plot, he could go after the object of his affection itself - his mother. Dun dun duuuuuuun. (Obviously no harm would come to her buuut, y'know.)

I gave you all
After his brush with insanity involving his mother, Jan will seek out a new object of his affection. His kind, charming personality ought not make it too difficult to find someone, to the dismay of whoever he finds. XD In time, they'd realize that he's pretty crazy and mentally unstable, and try to leave, but he would end up keeping them against their will anyway, at least until he got bored. IF he got bored. He'd likely continue this chain with each new love he finds, stalking and capturing them. Oh my god am I plotting a serial killer right now? XD

Personality: Kieron is a flirt through and through. He will hit on anything that walks, talks, and breathes. Nobody is too beneath him. And his desire to love and to be loved knows no bounds. After all, everybody deserves to experience love at least once in their life. Who better to give it than himself?

Kieron’s free love mentality makes him easy to get along with. He wishes to hurt no one and will strive to make everyone happy in any way he can. There are times when this desire of his stretches him very thin, to the point of mental and emotional exhaustion. It is during such moments that his own insecurities plague him.

However, he actively seeks to silence these insecurities through his expression of love. Kieron feels that the mere act of loving another can provide comfort and meaning. That they would see him differently than he sees himself and bolster him up, something he could do in kind.
Plot Ideas:
I See You- Kieron is a quiet and reserved foal. He does not want to get in the way of his family, but he wishes to learn so much from them. So he watches and he listens. The young foal keeps his distance yet is never far away. He sees his family for who they are, studying them intricately as he tries to sort out who he is as well. What does he learn? And how does he fit in to this family unit?

Unworthy- After a particularly dismal summer, Kieron is struggling with his self-esteem. Both of his siblings have grown exponentially it seems while he remains small and clumsy. Whatever he attempts, his body rebels against him to cause some sort of mishap. Gathering herbs? He trips and spills his basket. Crossing a river? His legs slip from underneath to cause him to fall in. Whereas his other family members have no trouble whatsoever. Kieron is the screw-up and thus feels himself unworthy of his family. What will he do? Can his family members make him realize that he so much more than he believes?

So This Is Love- Still struggling with his self-esteem, Kieron decides that it is time he go on an adventure. Perhaps he could learn more about himself through his travels. Little does he know that he will learn more about himself than he ever thought possible. All it takes is one chance meeting for a whole new world to open. Who does he meet? In what way do they shape his view of love?

Precious- Kieron has just become a father for the first time. He is completely out of his element here. His own foalhood feels so distant and he is drawing an absolute blank on what they may need. His mate(s) assures him that he will be a great father, but Kieron isn’t so certain. What if he screws up somehow? He certainly could not be cut out for fatherhood. As old insecurities arise, Kieron finds himself fleeing from the area. He just needs a little time to clear his head. That’s all. However, life has a funny way of tossing unexpected events into the mix. Baskets and mate(s) are soon in trouble! Will he realize his mistake before it’s too late? Or will he be left with nothing but a memory of what could have been?

More Than You Seem- Simply put, Kieron must realize that he is more than a klutz, more than an odd-ball. He is a father, a lover, a brother, and friend. But above all, he is kind and understanding. He is a teacher. There are others in the world who possess the same issues as himself. They are in as much need for understanding as he once was, and it will be his purpose to guide and to teach. Should Kieron accept this new role? Is he truly ready?
Anything else?: Some fun facts about Kieron: 1) He believes in ghosts and loves the macabre like some of his other family members. 2) He is really exceptional at creating stories, particularly ghost stories. 3) He is pansexual, but adheres to “he” for himself. 4) He maintains a small garden of the deadliest and prettiest flowers for no other reason than he respects the beauty in death.

Name: Faolan "Hollyhock" Boneblossom

Personality:
Faolan is one of those strange people who truly cannot be classified as either good or evil. He sits on the fence, directly centered in that mysterious gray area. While he would never actively participate in harming another, he is not inclined to help someone in trouble either. Faolan can find equal beauty in a glorious sunset or a grisly slaughter, show appreciation for both the boundless mysteries of the ocean and the final breath of a drowning victim and always with an eerily disturbing enthusiasm that many find hard to stomach. He enjoys collecting 'beauty', which can really mean anything from a shiny piece of rock, to a bloodsmeared weapon, to another soquili. When it comes to the latter its not so much that he will capture and hold a soqili against their will so much as he will simply decide they are his friend whether they are willing or no, and proceed to follow them around and treat them as though they are the best of friends regardless of their desires, deaf to any protests. Faolan is quite confident of his good looks and charm, any soquili who he would deign to bestow his friendship on will come around eventually, he is sure, he just needs to practice patience and persistence to wear them down to his thinking.

Plot Ideas:

-Faolan has no real concept of ownership unless someone is actually holding something, its fair game. If he sees something he wants, he will take it. If someone is holding it, he will follow them around until they put it down, then he will take it.

-Faolan playing keep away with something he's claimed from another soquili that can't fly. He hops from tree to tree leading them on a wild chase.

-Faolan comes across an injured soquili and refuses to help them, but follows them around as they search for help making a nuisance of himself and driving to poor injured person mad with his weirdness.

-Faolan following various soquili around being a pest because he's decided they are best friends and won't accept their polite requests to BACK OFF. He pops up at the most embarrassing and infuriating times.

-Faolan decides to be friends with a skinwalker or another violent meat eater, he drives it absolutely insane with a desire to destroy him, but it can't get up trees fast enough to catch him (Faolan has wisely decided to perch in the branches over its' head for his own safety and simply leaps from tree to tree to follow the 'walker).

Name: Beathan "Yggdrasil" Boneblossom

Personality: Beathan is quite odd like his mother only opposite. Instead of being obsessed with death he is obsessed with life. Watching a mare give birth or a flower grow from a tiny seed would interest him more than old grave sites. The former would get him into more trouble of course, who wants a strange stallion hanging around in the bushes during this beautiful moment? They say that death is an adventure but Beathan believes that the greatest adventure is in life.

Plot Ideas:
Dealing With Death: Beathan is in love with life so death is a hard concept for him to grasp. He would probably end up befriending some woodland creatures that would eventually come to their demise. It would force him to rethink his values and beliefs as he had never dealt with actual death before. It had always just been on the outskirts of his thoughts because of his mother's fascination with it.

Fear of Death; Because of this new experience Beathan develops a great fear of death or anything deathy. Such as grave sites, bones, etc etc. Eventually it would get to the point where he would rarely go outside. If his friend could die so easily who was to say he couldn't set a hoof outside and have the same happen.

Facing Death (Catching on a theme here? I sure am.): Eventually things could go two ways, a family member draws him out of his funk or a stranger who takes pity upon his poor state of affairs helps him out and reignites his love for life again. Reassuring him that death is just a normal process and he can't go on living his life in fear of it all the time anymore. That its no way to live. emotion_awesome

Anything else?: I'm a dork so don't mind my dumb plots. Everything is always up in the air for me anyhow and it could go way different of course.
