Her head was back in the brick yard picturing all the things she could do. It was even better that Aloiki seemed behind the idea and even offered them a room. Rolling with it, Alma didn't so much as hesitate when she accepted, "That would be awesome!!" This whole thing was awesome, between the building, seeing the baby alpaca and spending more time with Chal.
There were details she really should have considered, such as the fact she'd be sharing a room with Chal. However, those were the small details of life nothing to be bothered with. Everything was a new adventure, sharing this one with Chal was just going to be better!
Considering for a moment, the closet thing to a pause she's had in a while Alma spoke up again, "We'll have to head back to our homes first. Momma might like to know where I've gone. Chal's probably the same?" There was a slight question but it all seemed reasonable. Can't have their families thinking they'd vanished while they were off having fun on the ranch.
Thrilled with the outcome, Aloiki nodded his head and stated, "Thats fine, let me just show you to the house. You can meet my mom and see the house. Other than us, my dad and two sisters live here as well. Not sure if they are around at the moment or not. Oh if you see a small pink cat-thing, stay as far away from it as you can." Small pink cat didn't sound scary but that thing was creepy as heck. Fit his older sister, he thought with a suppressed snicker.
Headed to show them the house and introduce them to Zofie, the young male kicked up his pace a bit to try and not have Alma outrace him, again.

Aloiki chuckled at the notion that the cria were less shy, "They are softer and far more cuddly then the adults. Even more so if you have a bottle they'll pretty much lay in your lap for it." If there was ever an alpaca that would get used to the ever eventful Alma, it would be one of them. Once they got the mother distracted of course. For that, they were going to need more carrots.
Getting closer to the house, he had to school the disappointment off his face. To be fair, he'd never dream of leaving home. Between his mother and the alpaca, it just didn't seem right to just leave and never come back. They were being reasonable for that he had to give them credit, "Certainly, just have dinner first then hurry on back, we'd love to have you!" Alma's ability added with more hands on the ranch could not be passed up.
Chal hit a particular problem right on the head. With a nervous laugh he rubbed the back on his head before answering, "Pretty much. Mom and Dad built this place up with the help of someone else. I don't know where that person went off to but it left mom, dad and us kids. Corazon, my older sister, takes care of the donkeys and helps with the house. Myself and Kara mainly take care of the herd as well as helping dad with upkeep. Mom handles making people feel at home and the cotton fields." He motioned to the bushy green plants. The rows weren't as extensive as they had been in the past as Zofie was too busy to take on more then she felt she could. It still worked out for them, they had plenty to grow and trade for what they didn't have.
Everyone had a job on the ranch, how on earth his parents managed it on their own for so long was a mystery. "There is always something to do, but we manage by working together. It really isn't as bad as it sounds." He laughed warmly at that, for all the work life was pretty great. Opening the door to the house, he was not surprised to see Zofie standing there with a large smile and open arms.
"You are in good hands," He told them with all confidence before telling his mother what had transpired and then leaving them in her capable hands.
New faces were always welcome, and what a handsome couple those two made! She was so proud of her family, her little brother turned adopted son had done the whole ranch proud. Hospitality was always the first thing she preached to them and he'd taken it to heart. Making new friends that even wanted to stay would be great. While she was reluctant allow anyone to use Kurt's room, it was well past time to turn it into a guest room.
The angle her adopted father was gone, that she had made peace with so long ago. Even so she had held on to the room even when her daughters grew and got into tiffs over space. This was probably just the sign she needed to welcome new life into the ranch. "Welcome home, I have food ready for you. Please eat before you make the trip back. I am Zofie and so happy to have you both join us for as long as you'd like." Wide smile and characteristic warmth welcomed the couple.
On the table sat a carved roast with potatoes, green beans and sliced mango. She added a selection of cooled juices; pineapple, orange and sweet lemonade. Standing by the door she gestured them in, glancing around for the shock of pink that was certainly not coming in with them.
Alma was mostly distracted looking at everything there was to see. It wasn't all idle cloud gazing, she was also planing and getting a sense of what was needed. There was more to it, she was sure. Planning the where something should go was not in her skill set but surely those that lived on the ranch would have a better sense. Just point her in the direction and she'll run with it, just the way it worked.
Names and details went flying from their host and while she listened, she trusted Chal to guide her forward. Her eyes were every which way looking here and there as Aloiki mentioned animals as well as people. Shouldn't all the adults have their own space with the main house being the communal gathering place? Maybe it worked better with everyone together? The house itself was pretty well made, she noted.
Then the door opened and a really pretty angel welcomed them in. Smiling back Alma proudly responded, "Thank you! I am Alma and this is Chal! Glad to be here!" The house smelt amazing after she opened the door. A house full of good smells, now that made her feel at home. It was missing the smell of fish.
Wolfs Heart Happy Mother's Day Momma Wolfie hope it was a great one! Its up to you but at this point I think we can fast forward some of this

Just like that, they were on the road again. The meal had been delicious, but Chal had spent most of it with his mind buzzing about their hasty decision. It was hard for him to believe that in one date, his life had completely changed. At least, things were set into motion that we're going to change things. "Did you have a good time?" Chal asked Alma as they walked. Their date had been a bit more business than pleasure, however, he had been more than happy to be in her company while she discussed building things.
His eyes wandered slowly to their held hands, it made him feel so at ease (and much less uptight) when he was anchored to her. A smile creeped into his cheeks. "We're going to have plenty of time to get the alpaca used to us." He smiled, that had been the whole reason for their outing, and they had hardly seen them. That was going to be Chal's special project though, though he hardly knew if it was possible, but he wanted Alma to be able to be herself around the alpaca, to have them love her like... Like he did. A blush rose in Chal's face.

Chal's head tilted to the side, confused from not being able to hear her internal thoughts. What would be awesome? In Alma's usual fashion she had already answered him before he could even begin to form words. Chal smiled at first, just because she was who she was, and he loved every bit of her personality. Then the actual words that she had spoken sunk into his head. A house for them?
All this time he was dragging his feet about a silly kiss, and she was already a hundred steps ahead of him, or at least so it seemed. But he was ready! He would gladly breeze through every step of life with her, just the first step was always the hardest, and that was the one he was forever stuck on.
Chal answered her next question rather quickly, "How about two days?" He was certain that was enough time to say parting words with his parents, but wasn't sure if it was too soon. On the other hand, she had said soon.
"I... Um..." No more holding back, if he was stuck on this one thing forever it was going to kill him. Chal stopped in his tracks, tugging on Alma's hand. "Alma... You probably already know this, but I'm crazy about you, and I think you feel the same way?" His confidence began to dwindle, but he wasn't about to let that happen. "I love you." He said firmly. It wasn't a kiss, and while he had never experienced a kiss with anyone but his family before, he was certain that saying this felt a thousand times better.

Two days sounded just fine to her, give her time to say her good byes to her mother and pack up some of her tools. What did she need to bring? While they were there she wasn't taking stock of what they had and didn't have. The trip hadn't been too terribly long so maybe if there was something she needed she could easily come home. A coconut was a given as to what had to be brought. Food would be great too, she considered, as they were being taken in even it if was a labor exchange. "Perfect!" She confidently answered throwing a fist up in the air as she practically cheered out her response. Everything was set and ready to move along and that was a great feeling.
Not too terribly in-tune with others, Alma hadn't noticed his struggles and wasn't phased when he started to speak then paused. Off in a million mental directions the nymph may have just kept going if he hadn't stopped and tugged on her to stop as as well. Pausing now she turned on one foot to look at him with her head tilted ever so slightly to the right. She was naturally confused unable to truly decode the non verbal clues he was giving off.
He was asking a question she just took as a given which only served to confuse her more. "Of cours-" There was a pause then as she worked her head around what he was saying. The ducks of thought were out of the pond somewhere and she had to get them back. It was very much a situation of someone telling her a house had to have a minimum of four walls, of course it did it was something she took for granted. It was something that just was without needing more thought.
How she had grown to feel about Chal was the same, it just was. As the ducks filled back into the mental pond of thought, she considered that she should learn to read him better, what counted as 'just was' in her world might not count the same in his. Clearly this deserved a clear demonstration, and there was only one way she felt could convey it properly. "I love you to, Chal!" Before even giving him a moment to which a normal pae would digest that information, she threw herself at him without hesitation throwing herself into her first real kiss with the same easy passion she showed for all things in life.

Telling Alma that he loved her had taken a huge weight off Chal's chest, it was something that he had been aware of in their time apart that he had spent pining for her, and he had become more and more certain of it has today had gone on. He felt so free now, like he could do anything. There was no better feeling in the world than this... Until... She said it back. How was it even possible to feel so happy, he was used to happy, but this was unreal. He wondered if this was how Alma felt all the time.
This was perfect, and just when he thought there was nothing better in the world, she kissed him. Of course, he returned the kiss, and Chal's buzzing mind went silent for the length of it. "Perfect." He breathed in response to all of it, moving his free hand to her cheek, as their mouths parted from each other for a likely brief moment.
