You can add a bit of milk or cold water to help bring the temperature of the hot cocoa down enough that you can drink it. That's what our local burger joint did for me the other day when I ordered hot chocolate and due to it being almost closing time for them, we had to take our dinner to go; they were kind enough to add some milk to my drink to cool it down for me, so I could drink it during our drive back home.
