Alifax wasn't upset by the return to silence, at all. (Well, 'silence': the buzzing of insects hummed all around them, and the squish of the mud beneath their feet and occasional splashes of water made for an uneventful backdrop to the sounds of their weapons hitting flesh) In fact, he was a lot more comfortable now that they'd returned to quietness.

Even though she kept hitting him. Was she just extremely skilled with that tiny-looking thing, or was it forged to never miss when you used it for a purpose other than the intended one? Or perhaps it was just that it was extra sharp.

Well, it wasn't like he was going to ask, clearly. (He made a note to remember to practice when he'd returned home from this extended trip.) Instead he bore down on her, swinging his heavy meteors in her direction.

There was never more a time that Athene had wished an enemy would miss in battle. Or that she would actually gain the chance to dodge an attack instead of getting hit straight on constantly. Maybe that was her problem she thought as she took a blow straight to her hip, air going out in a rush as she felt the pain from her injury before radiate there. That ******** hurt. She obviously needed more practice.

But there wasn't any time for her to slow down either and she attacked him again, grip on her handle tight. It was something of a blessing that the attacks using these were simple and not just for strangulation. Although honestly, she needed better handles to hit with. But that was for later, when she wasn't fighting.

HP: ******** - she'd hit him with the stupidly sharp wire side, again. That stung, and the way his blood bloomed immediately against his skin was growing strangely familiar. He hesitated - he hadn't expected this greenblood to be so good at this. She'd looked a little impractical and silly when he'd first spotted her.

Well, there was no time like the present. He readied his meteors for another swing, taking a drained step back and - and - wait. Wait. What had Alifax been thinking? This was an incredibly stupid endeavor. He didn't need to be fighting her, now, when it was just tiring him out. All he needed was to subdue her - make sure she couldn't ********, was he still carrying a net? He palmed his pockets with his free hand, watching to see what she was about to do.

Athene was tired of this fight, tired of hitting him and nearly going down, but mostly she was scared that he'd figure out where he had come from. She huffed a breath as she watched him pause, stop with his weapon and.. look for something?

Confusion crept into her expression, was he really doing this now? What could even be in his pocket? Something else to hit her with like Kursha? She backed up at that thought, she already knew that anything like that was bad news and nothing she wanted part of.

But then the sensible part of her brain spoke up that she should and could just run, while he was distracted. Lead him off, he could try and follow her but that weapon looked heavy and he seemed.. tired maybe? Who knew. Whatever, it was now or never.

Turning quickly to a direction parallel to where she came from she sprinted, not looking back. If he did follow, she'd try to lead him away before getting back to the party if she could. If not, at least he'd get lost in the swamp with her. Another royalist down.
