Samudranta has more or less settled in as Queen, or is at least as settled as the restless, bouncy lioness will ever be. She is sociable and informal, and spends as much time as possible just 'hanging out' with other pride members, and will occasionally participate in hunts. Though she has a mate, she seems in no hurry to produce any heirs just yet. Overall, despite its dramatic and unexpected start, her reign thus far has been uneventful and relaxed.
Several months after Samudranta inherited the throne when her mother took ill, one of her younger half-siblings, Jhulsa, returned home from her pilgrimage, bringing not only a new name - Siyarin - but a male as well, who took the name Arth-lobhi shortly after his arrival. Siyarin could not be more different from her sister: coldly intelligent, serious, and patient. Despite their differences, she quickly became close to her sister upon her return, and within a few months, the two of them announced a plan to reclaim their former home.
Rather than another migration of the entire pride, however, Samudranta will send Siyarin and a small contingent of willing Jini-misemi to first investigate the swamp, and then if possible, establish a settlement there. They will be separated by several weeks of travel, and so will be cut off from easy interaction with the larger portion of the pride. Prospective settlers will be personally interviewed and selected by Siyarin, who is being trusted with full control over the venture and will assume a new rank, Pathfinder. Those who go with her will be called Seekers.
OOC Information:
- In short, the swampies are going back to the swamp! Sort of.
Siyarin will be very selective in choosing who will go with her, as this is not actually the happy adventure she's sold it to Samudranta as. Siyarin is a zealot who not only wants power, but wants the Jini-misemi to get back to their 'roots' and then some.
She is looking, first and foremost, for very traditional, spiritual individuals: belief in the spirits, sacrifice, ghosts, reincarnation, the whole bit. Siyarin will be very careful about not revealing her intentions, not going 'hey, wanna join a cult?'. The shift will happen over time.
Though she won't come out and say it, she is also selecting for color; she wants traditional looking swampies as well. This means predominantly natural colors, with preference for browns and diluted greens (lions who look like they belong in a swamp) and for white and pale grays and some pale blues (lions who look like ghosts), and only minimal bright colors. Very bright natural colors - strong yellows, oranges, reds, even bright greens - are also considered undesirable. Some accent color - covering no more than 25% of the coat - is not ideal, but acceptable.

-Acceptable Examples
-Unacceptable Examples
-Borderline Examples
Acceptance of 'borderline' individuals will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and will be influenced by the overall look of the lion; the female in the middle, for instance, has fairly pale blues and a more ghostly look than the female at the bottom, who has more and darker blues. The pink of the lioness at the top, while not a desirable color, is not particularly bright and makes up less than 25% of her coat, and so she would likely be accepted.
Before you sign up, know that this will put your swampie out of contact with the mainstream pride for an indefinite amount of time, and that this is a rather dark plot. This is a faction that will kill for its beliefs and to keep its secrets, led by someone who will not flinch at sacrificing more than just prey animals. While they won't be cackling over how evil they are, they will be willing to do bad things for the sake of what they believe. If you're not comfortable with those sorts of storylines and possibly worse, then it's not for you.
You may apply with up to 4 swampies, all of which must be full members, not provisionaries, pilgrims, or youths.
Sign-ups to be among the settlers will remain open for a month.

Summary: Just a short summary about your swampie and why this plot is right for them! Please note that if you want for them to get cold feet and leave, openly object, or attempt to inform the rest of the pride, they would ICly not be allowed to do so, and would be punished or possibly killed in order to protect the faction.
