General Guild Rules and Regulations

Welcome to the Anime Conventions: The Global Connection Guild. If you like Anime, Manga, Cosplay, going to Conventions, or playing video games you are in the right place!! smile The Captain and crew of this wonderful Guild are here to help you when you need it, enjoy the stories of your Cosplay / Convention adventures, talk about everything cosplay outfit making, and so much more.

Below is a list of the General Rules and Guidelines for this Guild. Please read the "Guild Navigation and General Info" Thread for a more detailed Guide to the Guild.

I. Behavior

Everyone is here to have fun interacting with fellow Guild members. Please Follow the Gaia Online Terms Of Service. We will be monitoring everything posted to make sure it's PG-13 or less. Be kind and considerate to everyone. People from all walks of life are here to enjoy themselves so if you are here to cause trouble, make fun of, or disrespect someone or their work as Sailor Moon says you shall be punished.

II. Starting a New Thread

If you start a new thread check to see if their is a similar one already started. If there is feel free to post a reply in it. When starting a new thread make sure that you are posting it in the correct Sub Forum or if it's more appropriate to post it in the general Main Forum. If you are unsure where to start a new thread please contact either myself or one of the crew members for help. You can be as creative or detailed as you want in a new thread but please don't go over a page in length. If needed you can post a reply in your own thread to explain or talk more about your topic.

III. Replying to a Topic in a Thread

Please be courteous and respectful when posting a reply. Stay on topic. If you stray from the main topic it can be confusing to everyone. If you are responding to someone who already posted in the thread make sure to quote them so the other guild member knows that you are commenting on something that they posted.

IV. Convention Threads

When you start a new Thread in one of the many convention area threads please read both of the Convention Sub Forum Info threads in the Main Forum. One of the Threads has a list about the different areas in the United States and the other Thread has a list of the International Sub Forums. The United States Info thread list lets you know which state is in what Convention Sub Forum. The International Info thread has a list of what country is in what Convention Sub Forum. Also in each Convention Sub Forum itself their is a list in the Forum Rules to let you know what States or Countries that can be posted. In the past their has been a problem with this. I put a lot of work to make it easier to figure out what Convention Sub Forum to use. If you need help knowing where to post your convention please contact me.

When starting a new Convention thread please check first to see if someone already posted about your convention. A new Convention thread will contain the name of the Convention, the location, the dates, a few general details about it, and a link to the Conventions Website. Feel free to add Banners, etc to advertise the con that you go to. Also feel free to ask for support or help with a convention that you personally have a part in. I started a special Thread in the Main Forum so that you can do an ad in it about your Convention, Guild, or Website.

V. Photos or Drawings

When posting any photo or drawing please make sure that it's in good taste. A good rule to follow is to follow the same general rules that is stated at a convention for what is appropriate for a Cosplay outfit. Also please make sure to credit the photographer, artist, or cosplayer that's in the photo. Drawings or photos should also mention what series and character that is in it. Get permission first of either the owner of the photo or drawing before posting it. A general or cannon photo or drawing from a series should state the character and series that it's from. Please do not use copyrighted material without permission. Do your best to have a photo or drawings size to less than a page. Use Spoiler code for something larger or when posting more than one thing in a reply. Anything larger than a page you will be asked to make it smaller.

VI. Cosplay Outfits

A cosplay thread shall contain info about the series and character. When posting a reply please be kind and respectful to the artist. Many cosplayers spend a lot of time and money to create their outfit. Criticism is allowed as long as it is useful and wanted. Feel free to share info on what went into making your outfit. This can be helpful for other Cosplayers. If worn at a specific convention let us know. Chances are someone may have seen you wearing it. Also you can certainly brag about your creation or give praise or support of someones work. Professional Artists please respect members just starting to make outfits. Just like yourself they are portraying a character that they like a lot. Their are many different interpretations of what the character looks like. Also due to funds are or skill some outfits will look the best that the cosplayer can come up with at that time. I personally have updated cosplay outfits when I was able to get more items to complete it. Sometimes a Cosplayer will show off their outfit to get advice to find out how to make it better. Their are a few Sub Forums to post your Threads in or ask for help in making one. We are planning on posting a Cosplay 101 thread in the Main Forum. This Thread will help cosplayers of all levels at making their outfits. As always we are here to help you with your outfit all you need to do is ask.

VII. Donations

Please do not donate a lot of gold directly to the Guild. We have much more than we need in our account already and it can only be used for Guild Announcements and buying sub-forums. If you wish to donate gold and/or items that will be used in contests and competitions as prizes, please send the gold/gifts to me directly so that it can be used at a later time.

VIII. Guild Affiliates

Guild Affiliates are other Guild's that are Partners of this Guild. Their is a thread in the Main Forum that lists them and tells you a little bit about them. Also they are noted on the Guild's Home Page. As you do for this Guild please be respectful of the Captain, Crew, and Members of our Affiliate Guilds. These Guilds were selected by myself to help Our Guild Members out. They will either have resources to help you with various issues that you may have or are related in some way to what this Guild is about. When you visit or even join an Affiliate Guild be mindful that you represent this Guild as well. Feel free to explore them, follow their rules, and support them too.

Note: If you wish to enter a contest that’s on an Affiliated Guild you need to be a member of both this Guild and the Affiliated Guild first before entering their contest. For more details on joining an Affiliated Guild please check out their Guild’s home page. Thanks

IX. Contests, Competitions, and Games

Most of the Contests, Competitions, and Games will be created or started by the Crew of this Guild. If you have an idea for one we would like to hear about it. Please follow the rules. Any rule breakers will be disqualified. If you are unsure or confused about the rules please ask. Any prizes will be stated at the beginning of the activity. If a guild member wants to run a contest all rules must be stated to me first for approval. Have fun and do not put down or provoke any of the members playing the game or who are in a contest.

When a Contest is finished or has been completed and the winner has been announced the contest will be closed but anyone can still check it out and even play the contest or answer the questions in it. Doing this will be just for the fun of it. In most circumstances their will not be additional prizes awarded. Current Contests will have the word [Open] noted in the title and old or closed contests will have the word [Closed] noted in it's title. Note: Some activities will not have prizes and will be for entertainment purposes only.

X. Final Thoughts

This Guild was created for everyone that Loves Anime, Manga, Cosplay, Conventions, Video Games, and so much more. I'm honored and happy to be a part of it. It is your Guild as much as ours. If you have an idea on how to make it better we are happy to hear about it. Read this Thread every once in a while because it can be updated at any time. If it is we will let you know about it. Also read this Thread again if you are unsure what is the proper way to do things. Our door is always open. If you are confused or unsure about something please ask.

Sincerely,
Smithers456 (Ron)
Guild Captain
