This thread's function is specifically to give a place for information pertaining to the on-going metaplot a home for ease of access. It's secondary function is to offer a place for discussion about the said metaplot and to also look for RP surrounding it. Below you'll find information about what's going on, a few key characters and a few other characters who will be given away later on.

Please make sure to be courteous to your fellow gaian and if you're one of the few people who know what's going on or what might happen, please, no spoilers for the rest of us. Beyond that, feel free to discuss, speculate, whatever you'd like to do.

If you have a character you feel is important enough to be added to the character list in the post below this one, PM me and explain why, please. If you would like to make your character's allegiance publicly known or offer up a rumor for others to use as a prompt for their RPs, you can also do that.

Overview: Part One

In the wake of the attack on Elisheba at the paws of her own brother, the colony has given rise to two factions: the Loyalists, who support Elisheba's reign, and the Royalists, who support Eduard's claim to the throne.

Debates have sparked over Elisheba's legitimacy as the queen of the Mlima Tuokoa, as well as Eduard's capability to lead, should he ever take the throne. Is not an uncommon subject to hear while walking the pathways now, nor is the discussion of the events of the attack. The factions have effectively split the colony in beliefs though and while no fighting has broken out yet among the commonfolk, the guards still watch everyone of a known allegiance at the captain's request. Even the nobles are not immune as some stand to possibly lose their status in the colony should they side and invest with the wrong royal.

The collection of pelts continue at what is said to be the queen's request and the guards have begun passing out them out to anyone who did not receive on from the gift exchange as well as giving each leopard two pelts to line their sleeping spot with or do with what they see fit. Though with everyone being so tense, lions are likely to be looked at with even more suspicion than usual.

With the guards preoccupied with the worries of the growing Royalist movement and Elisheba still nowhere to be seen since the attack, the colony is obviously stressed.

Overview: Part Two

Just as the Royalist movement began to truly take off, Queen Elisheba played a smart move in hosting a celebration in honor of the recent royal litter that had been the cause of her absence from the public eye. Invitations were sent out and many joined in on the festivities that were to include feasting and talking, as well as meeting Crown Princess Ann and her sibling, but the night was cut short as it seemed a stray raven had accidentally invited the Msitu'nyeusi to attend as well.

The forest lions had sent an emissary by the name of Paku to represent them at the celebration, but he was ill-received. Calling the meeting short as he laid a gift of fur belonging to a missing noble, Elisheba retreated to her chambers to speak with the lion one on one.

More than two weeks passed without issue before the missing noble returned home, raving about how Shan Furen had saved his life and that she was being held captive by the Msitu'nyeusi for a reason even he did not understand. While he had broken the Mlima Tuokoa's treaty with the usurpers and both the Royalists and Loyalists agreed he needed to be punished, the two opposing sides also agreed that at least investigating the claim of their goddess' physical form being held captive, but they could not agree how to do so yet.

The colony undoubtedly prepares for the worst: war.

Preperations - Summary: Elisheba and Noir speak of the queen's failing health, but the topic is redirected towards the preparation of a celebration for the royal litter's arrival once Ann begins questioning the topics the two adults were speaking on.
A Noble Sacrifice - Summary: A leopard noble goes wandering into the Endless Forest, but is attacked by a lioness. A battle ensues.
Celebration - Summary: A party is held and is meant to celebrate the birth of Queen Elisheba and Consort Batubatur's litter. It's crashed when an 'emissary' from the Msitu'nyeusi was accidentally invited.
You Fools - Summary: The leopard noble is handing over to the leader of the Msitu'nyeusi.
Downtime - Summary: The leopard noble is tended to by Shan Furen.
A Summary - Summary: The leopard noble returns to Umsindisi and regales the council and queen with the story. The colony prepares for war.
Away - Summary: Shan Furen flees the Msitu'nyeusi with three cubs, leaving behind a trail of blood as the pride was decimated by the goddess.

Character and Terms of Note

Royalist: Supporter Eduard's claim to the throne. A growing faction in the colony. They must be careful of what they say. Any true suggestion of harming Elisheba or dethroning her could be considered treason and result in exile. Most Royalists are secretive if they have ulterior motive and only meet with other known and trusted Royalists. Known Royalists are watched with a sideways glance and a distrusting look.

Loyalist: Supporter of Elisheba's reign. Openly accepted as the norm for the colony, especially in the light of recent events.

Treason and Execution: Any suggestion of harming, killing, or otherwise removing Elisheba from the throne by any means other than discrediting her claim to it. Harming any royal or council member in any way would also fall under committing treason. Betraying the colony will result in exile or in extreme cases, execution by being thrown from Umsindisi. If the traitor survives the fall, they are cast into exile.

[ Royalty ]

Elisheba [Quaji] - The current queen of the Mlima Tuokoa. She took the throne from her younger brother, lord Eduard, due to claiming him to be 'unfit' to rule for various reasons. As second in-line for the throne by birth, she is seen as a traitor by some and a savior by others to saving the colony from her brother's likely tyrannical rule. Still unsure in her position as queen, Elisheba is doing whatever she can to garner public support should her throne be challenged. She has not been seen for two weeks by anyone but a few guards, the council, her family, the ladies-in-waiting and a handful of servants. It is rumored the queen may have been pregnant at the time of the attack.

Eduard [Quaji] - The youngest child from king Heinrich and queen Pinot, but the only son from their litter, Eduard was raised as the true heir to the colony but was ousted by his oldest sister, Elisheba, after their parents went missing in the wake of the avalanche. Reduced to the rank of lord, he has been quietly fuming since Elisheba stole his throne over a year ago. He is usually seen in the company of a few of his guards at night. During the day, he is usually spotted heading down towards the base of Umsindisi, but where he goes after is unknown.

[ Loyalists ]

Barafu-taji [Quaji] - The current captain of the guard and former grand templar before they dispersed in the wake of the avalanche. He is extremely loyal to the crown, but more specifically to Elisheba. Barafu-taji is a typical hardass who tries to keep all of the guards, even the new recruits, in top fighting condition despite the fact there hadn't been too much of a call for them up until now. There are rumors that he and Elisheba are romantically involved, but there is no proof other than their late night talks, which is common due to him having a seat on the council, to prove this.

Noir [Quaji] - The 'head' lady-in-waiting, Noir was a friend to the previous queen, Pinot. She is normally rather motherly in nature and regal in stature, Noir is known for seemingly taking her position very seriously. She is often seen by Elisheba's side of course, she keeps a watchful guard over the queen and the other ladies who tend to her.

[ Royalists ]

Saikhan [Quaji] - Charismatic and beautiful, Saikhan is the face for the entire Royalist movement. Married to Eduard, she stands to gain the most from him taking the throne as such, is doing everything in her power to dismantle whatever claims Elisheba's supporters can scramble to come up with.

Suk'tamu [Quaji] - A survivor from the avalanche, she re-joined the colony after being found wandering by some of the guards. Since her arrival, Eduard had taken an interest in her for an unknown reason. A quiet leopard, Suk'tamu keeps her head down and simply does her duty to the colony that saved her.

Other Characters

The characters below can be referenced in RPs, but may not be interacted with as they will be all be given away through a small RP contest in the future. They are free for your character to speak about, or hear something about, but they should not be interacted with, even in passing.

The Royalists

Fahguan ('Judge') [Female Adult Lion] - Much more standoffish, Fahguan is Zovlon's older sister and another protector of Saikhan. Taking her duty extremely seriously, she also possessed a great sense of duty and personal honor, no matter what it costs others. She is paired with a female white raven, Yariany ('talk').

Zovlon ('Suffer') [Male Adult Lion] - A quiet and subserviant lion, Zovlon takes his duties extremely seriously in protecting Saikhan. In his youth, he had a sense of duty and honor instilled in him by his older sister Fahguan, though he keeps his pride in check.

Bayar ('Feast') [Male Adult Leopard] - Bayar is a loner, prefering to keep himself for most of the time. In his solitude he has honed his hunting skills and is reknowned as one of the best within the colony. With such skill, it is not uncommon for him, when in the rare company of others, to boast about his recent exploits on the plains. Beyond that, he has an infatuation with Saikhan that has been discouraged by Zovlon, but the warning was disregarded. Most assume that is the main reason for his support of Eduard's claim.

Surakh ('Learn') [Female Adolescent Leopard] - Timid and shy, Surakh was the middle child of her siblings, Minii Sar and Minii Nar. Keeping to herself and the other scholars, she prefers the intellectual debates between her fellows to the gossiping and idle chatter of her birth right. Family issues caused the young leopard to throw herself into learning about everything and listening to stories ever since she was a cub. After having taken an interest in the royal family's history and lineage at a young age, she is now the leading expert in the colony on the subject. She is paired with a hawk, Tuslagch ('Helper').

Minii Sar ('My Moon') [Male Adolescent Leopard] - An enormous leopard, especially for his age, Minii Sar is the oldest of his siblings, Surakh and Minii Nar. Born to a noble pair, he was expected to do much but failed to live up to his parents' expectations. Growing bitter because of it, he is now somewhat of a rebellious teen despite their parents' recent deaths from illness. Now acting as the protector his family, Minii Sar is even more grumpy than before. He is paired with a jackal, Tsus ('Blood'). For some reason the youth seems to have attached himself to follow in Eduard's shadow.

The Loyalists

Minii Nar ('My Sun') [Female Adolescent Leopard] - A flirtatious teen, Minii Nar is the youngest of her siblings, Minii Sar and Surakh. Born to a noble couple, she had certain expectations set for her and one of them was to be married off, hopefully to one of the royalty to put her family into the bones of history. Sadly for the family though, this didn't happen. Still grieving from the loss of her parents, Minii Nar is finding it hard to just keep going, but a promise of a brighter future that the queen offers seems to be enough for now.

Khadny ('Of Rock') [Male Adult Cheetah] - Khandny is a huge cheetah who most think has lion somewhere in his family history. This isn't true and while others joke about it, Khandny takes it extremely seriously and finds no humor in it. Though due to the stigma against lions, it makes him extremely distrusting of others and makes him competitive as well, trying to prove himself above some make-believe lion-blood in his veins. Maybe he hopes to dispel the rumors.

Khalamj ('Caring') [Female Adult Cheetah] - An older cheetah who takes it upon herself to be everyone's grandmother when they need her. She is extremely caring and has bore the burden of grief for more than one nameless body recovered who had no one to mourn for it. Surviving her entirely family, she is the sole member of her line left in the colony. She now acts as a mother to Dandaa and Khamtdaa, who she found at the base of the Umsindisi. While she raises them for their eventual role of servant, she still treats them like they are family. Khalamj also has a great love and respect for the royal family, all of it, and how it runs.

Dandaa ('Always') [Female Cub Lion] - Skeptical of everyone just as they are of her, she was taken in by Khalamj with her brother while wandering lost around the base of Umsindisi. Extremely careful with her words and actions, she sometimes seems anti-social and lazy to other members of the colony due to her 'slacking', when it really is just her making sure she's preforming a task correctly.

Khamtdaa ('Together') [Male Cub Lion] - A bright light in a dark world, Khamtdaa wants to believe that everyone has good in them and that no one is bad. This can lead him to be slightly gullible, taking everything said in some sort of literal fashion. Seemingly a little distracted by his surroundings, most don't give Khamtdaa a second thought as his attention wanders. He and his sister were taken in by Khalamj as they were found wandering around the base of Umsindisi.

With the official beginning of this metaplot, the RP Rewards system is now open. Please read over everything and ask questions before redeeming RP(s) for points. If your RP(s) do not count, I will let you know, so please, ask if you're unsure. Questions surrounding this system should be posted in it's appropriate thread. Discussion pertaining to this may be posted here though.

Do you think it's plausible for Nyota to recognize it a bit? At least, in the paranoia sense, since she hasn't heard from Emerce?
