User Image Gael wiggled a broken rib bone between his teeth, trying to get a scrap of meat out from between them. He finally succeeded and spat the old hide away, making a little face. Ugh, that had been bothering him for days. His claws were just a bit too thick to reach into the tight spot between his teeth, so a dangerously sharp shard of bone was the trick. He tossed said bone aside once he was done and got up to stretch, feeling much better now that the annoyance was gone.

Gael didn't do well with annoying things, whether it was a bird that wouldn't shut up or a piece of meat lodged between his incisors. In the case of an annoying bird he'd catch it and eat it to shut it up. In the case of the meat, he'd pick and pick until his gums bled just to be rid of it. Now, though, all was well.

He strolled away from the feeding grounds and back to the main part of the pride. There were lions snarling here and there, slaves going about their duties, and every now and then a little tumbleweed would blow in front of him on his journey to the meager amount of water that really couldn't be called anything more than a large puddle that served as their supply. He was thirsty now that his mouth was full of his own blood. Might be a good tactic for startling someone, though...bloody teeth were always terrifying, even if the thing you were grinning at was another predator.

But not to Keto. He lacked a sense of prominent fear. Death was simply amusing to him, he did not mind that one day his fate would be to fade to memory. Although, he found, death was certainly not as amusing as life. Life had emotions, will, it moved and coursed through the veins of every creature. It was influenced by precious memories, and it sought to cheat death to continue living further. Yes, Keto grinned, life was certainly amusing.

He gave a crackle of a laugh and a wore a grin a mile wide as he prance around evading his duties. He should have been training. Honing his skills for the next mission Tra Ord Omak would give them. Instead, he was enjoying the vision he had awaken with that morning.

Birds, feathers of blood stained red from blood. Something had been killed. A crow, a raven. It was only a few minutes until then that he had noticed this vision was of his breakfast. "Mercy, mercy! Dead birds sing~. Fools they were, thinking for tricks. Cons don't work with me." Keto gloated. His words made sense, if only to him and him alone. In truth he was more capable then he let on. He knew things, things others would dream of. Things he saw in visions. Things he saw with his own eyes.

When he saw Gael he cease to smile for only a moment as he paused to think. "Hmm." he echoed. "HMM."

Gael's eye twitched as he heard the grating laugh of a hyena not far ahead of him. Gods above, but they were bothersome. He understood why they were allowed in the pride, but he wished they weren't allowed to hang around the lions.

When he came into sight of the hyena he narrowed his eyes and bared his teeth in greeting, even though it wasn't a very friendly one. The hemming and hawing of the other male made his fur bristle along his back a bit and he stopped a few paces short.

"Hm?" he echoed, licking his lips where a bit of bloody drool had collected. Stabbing himself with a bone had never looked so cool, he was sure. Or maybe it made him look rabid. Either way, he was sure he came off as intimidating and not like he had accidentally wounded himself.

"Is that all you have to say, cackler?"

Keto didn't mind if Gael didn't seem to be friendly. In fact, that alone seemed to lighten his mood. He had many times annoyed his fellow hyenas, and been swatted at a few for lions who couldn't take his insane babble. He wondered just how amusing Gael's life would prove to be and snicked when coming up with a reason to continue talking.

"Blood is good for under the skin!" He laughed. Silly white lion, this comrade of his was wearing blood on his lips. It made little sense to Keto, but then again Keto himself made only the slightest bit of sense regularly. So he decided against judging harshly the white lion with red teeth.

"Crackler isn't me. No, no, I'm Keto. Yes. But cackles I do frequently!" He didn't seem the least bit intimidated when he approached Gael and circled him curiously. "Hmm. Vision of death. Yes, yes, of glory and good. White lion there, not of you. Maybe, maybe it was. Heheh. Begged for mercy Keto did, no good though, no good. Death slow and painful." He continued to rant further until satisfied and sat down to face Gael and not run around him speaking nonsense. "Tongues in the sky drip blood!" He added, and laughed at what he perceived to have been a joke of some kind.

The blood in Gael's mouth was starting to turn into drool since he hadn't swallowed for a few minutes, so he licked his lips to do so, wiping away the blood with his tongue. For some reason his own blood never tasted as nice as that of prey, but he supposed it was so he didn't try to gnaw his own leg off if he got hungry.

Gods, this hyena was bothersome. He was speaking in words that didn't make sense together. He watched the hyena circle him, his teeth bared again in irritation, although this time they were white and free of blood. His claws protruded from his paws, digging at the dirt. He knew there were laws about fighting within the ranks, but perhaps this would be an exception. Surely Keto annoyed others and they'd be happy for Gael to shut him up.

"Did you get smacked around as a pup or something?" he growled, his annoyance plane. "You don't make any sense when you speak, Keto, if that is your name. Do yourself a favor and bite your tongue off so no one has to listen to you prattle on like this. Or, if you wish, I can do it for you."

Yes. This lion was fun. So very fun it made Keto giggle even more. Even with Gael threatening to bite his tongue off he failed to seem intimidated. If anything the hyena looked to be enjoying himself.

"Hmm. Keto is name. Puppyhood? Much death. Many losses." He attempted to answer the white lion's question, not taking the hint that maybe, just maybe, it was actually sarcasm in Gael's voice. He shook his head and then looked at Gael once more, grinning widely. "Many redpelts move-"

"Ah ha!" He declared loudly, loud enough that he swore he heard a crow caw at him in the distance. "Eheheh, from vision yes. Lion of white, but you it was. Not other one. Eheheheh." He was glad he had remembered it was indeed, Gael who was in his vision. Not the "other" white lion he had experienced a previous vision of. Come to think of it he still didn't know who that "other" was. Hmm. Maybe it was-

"Oh!" He shouted again, this time getting close to Gael and trying his best to look as confident as possible. "Name, yes. Keto tell you mine, now yours. Keto must know white lion's too. Tell."

Gael growled quietly as Keto continued to speak strangely. This hyena was more annoying than most and he was tempted to give him a good smack. Maybe that would fix his speech patterns.

The mention of him being in a vision did perk his interest, he had to admit. Perhaps he could wring the information out of the bouncy riddler and then be on his way.

"Gael," he said, his voice low and unamused. "That's my name. Now tell me about this vision." Perhaps there would be glory or fame to come to him in some way. If he had to hear it out of the mouth of a hyena, so be it. The ways of the world were mysterious and he didn't question them, even if they did get sent by strange ways.

"Come on, spit it out. You seem to enjoy talking as much as you do being annoying."

"Gael." Keto repeated, and laughed and repeated it again. "Ga-a-el" He giggled to himself. It pleased him to no end that he finally knew one of the names of those in his visions. One of the murderers who ended life and caused Keto to awaken thinking he had died, when he had not done such at all.

Now all he needed to do was discover the other white lion's name. Then he'd be able to figure everything out.

"Keto sees Gael in vision. Death bring Gael, to... to..." Hmm. Who was he in the vision again? He wasn't him that was for sure. Because he had a purple, blue pelt color, and in his vision whom he was had a brown pelt. "Vision-Keto, Gael kills them. Not real Keto though, vision-Keto's are different. Last breaths and such, many death to vision-keto's, none survive." He grinned, hopeful that the white lion understood that at the very least. "Many Nergui shout things. Keto didn't hear them though. No hear. Then Keto see no more. Eyes Gael take from Keto, not tongue." He laughed, finding it humorous. His visions were always astoundingly amusing to Keto, the many ways one could die. Murder was frequent though sometimes he saw one die from old age or an accident. Regardless of how they died in the end, and Keto laughed at thoughts of older visions, ones more brutal and cruel then the one he knew Gael was in.

Though he wondered for a moment if the others found his visions as amusing as he did... They probably didn't, he thought with another cackle!

Gael furrowed his brows, trying to make sense of what Keto was saying. Visions? He knew there were lions that had visions, but they were usually god-born. Or just lucky. He was glad he didn't have visions, they seemed like something that would distract him quite a bit. For a hyena to have visions, though...that was rather strange.

Still, he listened. Apparently he killed things in Keto's visions. Keto himself? "Well, I do kill many things," he said with a smug smirk. "Those not worth of living. Things to eat." He hadn't taken part in the recent god-hunt as some had needed to stay behind to watch the slaves and keep the pride safe, but he knew that if he had gone he would have done himself proud and gotten a few hits on on the deity.

"You'd best watch yourself or I will kill the 'real Keto'," he said, snapping his jaws in the hyena's direction. He wouldn't, of course, but there was no reason not to try to strike some fear into the hyena. Then again...Keto seemed a bit crazy. Did he know fear at all?

Keto laughed, and not a cackle or a snicker either.

His body shudder as he laughed excessively. Yowling as if Gael had just told him the most hilarious joke he had ever heard. He even fought to breathe properly. "G-Gael kill real-Keto? Khahaha!" Oh! This white lion was so funny! So very funny! He was glad he had met him! "Gael kill brown pelts! Red skinned! Not real Keto!" He declared. It made sense if Gael had killed food and that was the vision Keto saw, but he had heard from some of the kaar that visions could be of the past, the present or the future. Maybe the vision Keto had with Gael hadn't happened yet. Which was concerning because he needed to find the other white lion and figure the truth out for himself.

But Gael killing real-him now? That wasn't foretold or anything of the sort! To think of that happening- it was just plain hysterical to the purple furred hyena.

When he regained... Whatever senses he possessed, Keto stopped laughing but continued to wear a wide grin. "White lions with green eyes, white lions with blue eyes." He muttered to himself. "Gael! Keto must go now. Going is Keto at this moment. Bye. Later sees Gael, Keto do that later but not now. Yes... Yes."

He turned and began to walk away muttering random things about lions, lions and birds and something about tongues in the sky dripping blood. Oh and he laughed. He was laughing excessively...

The laughter was a surprise to Gael and he bared his teeth in irritation. What, did the hyena not thing he wouldn't? Couldn't? His claws came out, digging in the dirt, as he weighed his options. Keto was a seer, that much was plain, and he knew that seers could be of good use. He also knew that attacking another member of the Nergui was strictly forbidden, unless they proved themselves to be a traitor in some way. Keto wasn't, but Gael really felt like there should be a rule about being annoying.

"Good riddance," he muttered as Keto turned to go, taking his creepy cackling with him. The lion shook out his mane and headed off in the opposite direction. His mouth had stopped bleeding, but the taste of blood had made him hungry. It was time to hunt.
