Life seemed to be one big race in the South house and for some reason, he would have it no other way. Barke absolutely loved the fast-paced life that his birth house offered compared to the slower paced lives other houses lived, at least from what messengers had told him about them. He had never personally visited any other house, but he didn't have a reason to. There was no thought in his head that urged him to become a messenger. His striped body was more suited to long hunts, ones where power and stamina was key, instead of a life where speed and stamina were favored. Still, some of his siblings had chosen that path so there was some respect towards messengers in total.
The day was overcast with the smell of rain in the air. The wind blew at his white mane that had only recently come in fully. Even he had noticed the glances from some of the lionesses were giving him, especially messengers from other houses. All of which he ignored. His duty came first, just as it did as he pulled at a limp body by one of its four hooved legs. Barke was currently hauling an antelope along towards one of the more communal lots that ever house apparently had, a place where anyone who was hungry could go to relax, eat and socialize. There was no higher ranking official that he hunted specifically for, so all of his kills went to the entire pride which suited him better. Of course the grasslands did not agree with him and rocks continually snagged at the beast's horns, causing him to stop and have to get it unstuck. With the storm incoming, each second wasted was another reason his brow furrowed with annoyance.
