Mikael "Riddle Sight" || In the activity of the Mummer's Ball, it was far too easy for two little cubs to slip off and find their own adventure. They were very aware of the patrons watching nearby and as their father was often quoted as saying- the rocks had eyes and the shadows had ears. While the cubs were afforded the thrill of feeling as if they had defied their parent's watchful eye, they were never in any true danger. Those within the pride knew the cubs by sight and did well to keep a respectful distance and mind themselves around them.
The chitter chatter of politics, mates, and tradition was, frankly, boring to a cub. It had little entertainment value, even if he knew that one day he would have to take up his father's mantle and endure such things later down the line. That day, however, was a party. A festival. The mummer's ball- he would have his fun.
There was one individual he had been itching to meet since he was old enough to begin learning the faces of the tribe. A massive lion with a dull, distant look in his eyes and a deep cloak that the cubs were beginning to think was hiding a horrible secret. He went by "Wizard" and he was one of the fortune-tellers. A seer like himself and his litter mates. He knew there was something to being a seer- but he wasn't sure just what. He'd not felt different and if he had, what was different?
"He's a seer."He whispered over to his sibling, his eyes filled with an impish curiosity. "He can tell us our future, perhaps tell us our seer powers. Ma will be so thrilled if we can discover our abilities on our own!"

Like any cub, Puzzle was bored by talk of politics and mates and the like. To him, at that point in his life, girls were ick. Mom and his sister didn't count as girls in his mind, as 'mom' and 'sister' were different terms from 'girl' and 'female.' Instead, his mind was focused on the strange seer in their midst - The Wizard. Yes, the ball was fun, and everybody would be watching them, making sure they were safe. But as with his brother, Puzzle had a deep-seeded curiosity to him.
He still distinctly remembered the sky monster that roared at them. Now it appeared to have moved north, leaving the Kizingo'zaa for the somewhat-mysterious Bahari to the north. He only knew 'north', though, as 'the beach on my left and sea to my right.' Which that wasn't what he was worried about right now.
The striped cub stared, then leaned over to Riddle Sight. "How will he know our seer powers...? WE don't know our seer powers yet..."

Wizard || The lion's dark eyes lifted from the ground as the two princes approached his small section of the outskirts. He shared the space with a few merchants and other fortune-tellers but his was more or less abandoned other than the colorful pelt he sat on and the half-shell he had out for collecting donations for his readings. Wizard raised a brow as the younger of the two stepped forward with his observation.
Sad? Did he look sad?
Perhaps... "A darkness has not lifted."He answered, a little vaguely but his tone held enough gravity to forewarn against something sombering. "I thought the dreamers were the coming storm-"He glanced upwards, his eyes searching the sky overhead, "But the clouds have not passed. There's a thickness in the air, a depth to the clouds."
He drew his eyes away and settled them on the two princes. "You've come for a fortune?"
Riddle-Sight || The prince tensed, his little nose wrinkling up as Wizard seemed to drift out of reality. Perhaps he was something of a dreamer himself. The dreamers were almost blissfully absent from themselves. This lion, as his brother observed, was kind of deflated, defeated, or dreading something horrible.
He glanced to his brother, sharing a leery look, then looked back to see Wizard staring at he and his brother. He filled up his chest and gave a bold nod. "We want to know our future! You're a fortune-teller, you should know. When do we get our seer powers?"

Riddle Sight || The prince's ears flattened as his brother reminded him of his manners. Slanting a glance towards his brother. He was right, of course, but he and his brother were just cubs. They'd not had a chance to go out and pluck some treasures for themselves. They had nothing to their names that would be considered a fair trade for any good. But... well a fortune wasn't a good per-say, it was words. Wise words perhaps, or foreboding words, but words regardless. He couldn't hold them, show them, or wear them.
"Maybe words for words? An owed favor for a fortune?"Riddle offered weakly. "We'll do something for you in the future if you do something for us. Father says a gypsy's favor is more precious than gold."
Wizard || The lion raised a brow and looked between the two princes. After a moment he nodded his head.Having the princes of the pride indebted to him could be a good thing. If he needed a favor, a bit of information, or a warning if things took a turn for the worse it could keep him one step ahead of the dark clouds.
"Very well."He glanced to the younger cub. "A fortune for a favor. What, exactly, do you wish to know?"

Wizard || The lion glanced between the two youngsters, both adamantly looking his way, expecting some brilliant look into their near futures. Riddle-sight nodded in agreement to his brother's request and plopped his hind end down in the sand, listening expectantly. He knew their parents, Muhali had never spoken to him directly but he knew of her well enough. Wizard's eyes shifted to the winged goddess on the dais nearby. He was inherently untrusting of gods, though he had his reasons. Gods, on the other hand, were not entirely trusting of seers. They had abilities that even the gods envied...
"Well...", He looked back to the cubs. "It would be a pity to waste a favor on something I cannot really predict. Seer abilities, I have observed, tend to manifest... in their own time in their own way. Some abilities lean close to the domain of the god-parent. Some seers are born without a god-parent so there really is no standard."
He waved a paw. "I'm sorry that I could not have provided a more thrilling explanation."
Riddle-Sight || "That's it!?" The cub whined, getting to his paws in a flash. "We came all this way-" and by that he meant a few yards from the main fires, "And that's what you can say? 'In their own time in their own way'? What kind of cryptic nonsense is that?"
Wizard || "I suppose that's yours to answer."
