Dianot'an was preparing supplies for his journey. After hearing about disputes between the other creatures of the jungle, he decided he would allow the voice of the jedi to be heard. Though after he heard what the fuss was all about. From what he gathered, it was a fight over land. The elephants had wandered into the monkey's resting areas one to many times. He knew the monkeys were distressed about the whole thing. They had threatened to attack the elephants if they had to.

The last thing Dianot'an wanted was a fight between elephants and monkeys. He would do his best to figure out just how to settle the disagreement.

He put some herbs in the pouch around his arm. It was always important to be ready in case someone was hurt, he thought. The herb could be used to null pain. It wouldn't do much to heal it, but it still could come in handy.

His steps were light as he made his way to the council chambers in the temple. This was where he would meet Kamau. The mission was a delicate one. He wanted their neighbors to know that the jedi respected them. Bringing a council member with him would be a sign of respect.

It didn't hurt that Kamau had been a peacekeeper either.

In silence, he waited for the council member.

The cream-coloured leopard padded into view not long after Dianot'an arrived, his pawsteps unconsciously silent, a battered looking satchel slung about his shoulders. Eyes that were alternately silver or lilac lit upon the Grand Master. Dipping his head respectfully Kamau moved towards the lion, his expression as calm and easy as if this was just another day. It had been a while since Kamau had returned permanently to the pride, his days as a wandering Peacekeeper behind him, yet you would never think it to look at him with the travail pack on his back and that quiet confidence in his eyes, it was as if he had never retired.

"Grand Master Dianot'an" He greeted as he stopped before the larger male.

Dainot'an nodded his head at the leopard and stood up. “Lets be off.” His voice was quiet, as he started making his way out of the temple. It had been too long since he been on a mission. His time was mostly spent in the heart of the pride. Usually disputes were brought to him. However he had no problem going to the issue if it was needed.

“I would like to start by speaking with the monkey tribe. The last thing I want to do is take sides. But I want to know more about the situation. What are your thoughts on the matter?” he asked with an open mind. He stepped out of the temple. His eyes were set on the path they would be taking. It wouldn't be a quick track to the tribe. In a hurry, it would take them a good couple hours.

Dainot'an wasn't one to rush. If it was an emergency, then he would do everything in his power to get there as soon as possible.

This wasn't the case of life and death. Just a dispute over land. Patience was key for everyone involved, he thought. Plus his old legs could move only so fast.

With a nod of agreement Kamau turned and followed the Grand Master as they left the temple. Once on their way he moved up to walk at the lion's side, tilting his head as he considered the situation that would confront them once they arrived.

"Since there are two of us, I could go speak to the Elephants. There may be a very good reason they are encroaching on the Monkeys and regardless we still need to appear unbiased." Of course they both knew that but Kamau's one fault, perhaps, was his penance for voicing his train of thought out loud when facing a Peacekeeper problem.

Lifting his head he regarded the forest around them, remembering the last time he walked up this path, coming home from a lifetime out in the rogue lands sharing the wisdom of the Force. He also recalled the very first time, fresh out of the advanced training, having just earned his Peacekeeper rank. So young, so enthusiastic. Smiling to himself he shook his head. It had been a long personal journey from the leopard he had been to the Master he now was.

“I agree.” Nodding his head. “We can split up when we get closer to the destination.”

As he walked, he allowed to take in the sounds of the jungle. The fluttering of wings, the sound of wind blowing through the leafs. It was all sounds he heard daily. There were just some days he could really appreciate the soothing sounds.

As they walked deeper into the jungle he could hear a different noise in the distance. He stopped walking so he could hear it better. The sound was like a piercing screech, barely audible over the windy trees. He looked around trying to figure out where the sound came from.

“It sounded like someone was hurt.” He said quietly, as he looked at Kamau. Or it could be a trap, he thought to himself. “I'm not sure where the voice came from.” He had a frown. The screech echoed again. He was sure this time that it came from one of the jungles monkeys.

He closed his eyes to focus on the voice to try and figure out what direction to go to.

Kamau wasn't at all purr turned by the silence, content to walk along at the lion's side quietly, enjoying the sounds of the forest all around them. When Dianot'an stopped, so did Kamau, head tilting as he listened.

Meeting his companion's gaze he suddenly smiled. "Allow me..." With a single step forwards he leaped upwards, pale body twisting nimbly as he caught a branch high above their heads and swung himself onto it. He was, after all a leopard.

After a few more jumps he settled on a solid limb and scanned the surrounding forest, ears twitching. The sound carried differently up here, uninterrupted by the thick foliage on the ground. After a long moment he turned and pointed just to the side of their original heading. "That way, it's coming from the lower canopy." Jumping neatly down he set off in the direction the cry had come from, following Dia.

His steps were quicker now as he went the direction Kamau pointed. Despite his rush, Dianot'an steps were still cautious. He kept a look out for any sudden movements around him as he headed toward the yell. His sight was at the lower canopy, looking for who the screams belonged to. His steps slowed to a halt when he saw one of the monkeys laying on a branch. From where he stood, Dianot'an could see the small creature was hurt.

“Can you make it down?” He called up to the monkey. The monkey just shook his head no. Dia looked at Kamau. “Would you mind helping him down?” If he had been a decent climber, Dianot'an would have gone up himself. But he knew his own limitations.

“If we can get him down I have some herbs to help with the pain.” He looked back at the monkey. He was shaking, something had scared him. They would have to be careful.

The leopard was already making his way towards the monkey when Dianot'an called up to him. Despite his mroe advanced years he was as nimble as when he had been wandering the roguelands several seasons ago. What he lacked in physical power these days, he maore than made up for with experience. So it was not long before he was carefully stretching across the gap between branches into the monkey's tree. Claws isnking into the bark he edged his way lower, finally dropping gently onto a thick branch alongside the injured primate.

"I'm Kamau. A Jedi. Will you let me help you down?" He waited patiently for the monkey's weak nod before moving onto the same branch, careful not to jolt the creature as the branch shifted slightly with his additonal weight. Lowering himself onto his belly, carefully balanced on the tree limb, he tipped his head towards the wounded creature. "Climb on if you can and I will get us down."

Once the monkey had managed to clamber onto his back and had dug sharp little claws into his fur, Kamau carefully stepped off the branch and onto the tree trunk, going down backwards to better contorl their decent.

With a last wince and a grunt they finally landed back on solid ground. Claws stinging from supporting their combined weight far longer than was usual, and with little pricks of blood dotting his pale fur from the monkey's stranglehold grip, he crouched down beside his companion for the monkey to climb off.

Dianot'an pulled the herbs out of his pouch. As he grind the leafs with, he looked the monkey over. He didn't see any blood thankfully, but the small creature had been beat up. “Thank you for getting him.” Dia said to Kamau, nodding his head to the leopard. He leaned over and gently rubbed the leafs into the monkey's fur. The monkey cringed as he did so, making Dianot'an get a knot in his stomach. He hated seeing anyone in pain.

“Who did this to you?” He asked quietly. All the monkey could do was shake his head, not wanting to answer the question.

This caused Dianot'an to feel concerned. “We can keep you safe from whoever attacked you. We can escort you back to your tribe and make sure you stay safe.” The monkey just shook his head. Dianot'an frowned. Who could this monkey be afraid of to cause this reaction? “For now we should take you to safety. The temple is closer, we could take him there.”

And maybe when he was feeling better he could tell them what happened. He wondered if the dispute between the monkey's and elephants could wait, just a little longer. “Kamau any thoughts?” He could use a councilor right now. The dispute would need both of them. They could deliver the monkey to his tribe and then try and find a balance in the dispute.
