IMPORTANT The future of the Mwezi'Johari is by no means set in stone. The only thing that is certain is that eventually Shangyue will be overthrown (he has it coming, after all, since he took control of the pride in such a violent manner). When and how that happens (and how many failed attempts come before success) is completely up in the air. Every single member who is willing to RP has the opportunity to affect the future of the pride.
That is not to say your pride members have to take a stand one way or the other, everybody is also more than welcome to just go with the flow and hope they can keep themselves and their loved ones out of trouble!
Anything goes, so long as all participating players approve. Make your own plots, let your characters respond the way you really think they would respond. Members can plot whatever, do whatever, even kill whoever-- just as long as everybody agrees. And it should be, at least in some way, related to the current state of the pride.
Ecavi must be informed of anything that could not possibly be kept secret. This includes (but is not limited to) deaths, riots, and any assassination attempts. Keep in mind that treason carries consequences! Please be reasonable when trying to decide what could be kept secret from the King and his Royal Guards. Feel free to contact Ecavi to discuss your plots!
Earn a place in the overall plot. With Shangyue's ultimate downfall still up in the air, there are all kinds of ways you could use that to your advantage. Now is the time to get the attention of the king and get his blessing to do pretty much whatever you want (if you're on his side). Or perhaps it's time to get the attention the rebel leaders and have a say in taking back the pride. Or maybe you'll start your own revolution! Who knows? As long as you RP, I'm willing to consider just about anything!

Monarchy
Shangyue (Ecavi) - Current King of the Mwezi'Johari, Shangyue took the throne by assassinating those between him and becoming king (his grandparents and parents). For the first few months of his rule, Shangyue was naturally nervous of retaliation but has grown comfortable in his position and the stability of the pride. He is only ever seen at night and appears to have complete confidence in himself.
Parisa (Ecavi) - Current Queen of the Mwezi'Johari and Firaga's only High Class daughter, she was the only match that Shangyue was able to trust. Though known for being well-meaning and nervous in her youth, the smile she always wears now seems to be hiding something sinister.
Loyalists
Firaga (F a y t h - x) - Head of the Royal Guard and current second most powerful lion in the pride despite being in the low class. Firaga played a major supporting role in Shangyue's takeover and has a sinister reputation that puts him above even the Shaman for authority by those who wish to stay on his good side.
Antara (nessiaing) - A loyalist by force and a rebel at heart, this High Class apprentice to the shaman is one of Shangyue's illegitimate children by Kamia- the one he believes would be his heir. She is a diligent apprentice that would secretly prefer a simple, quiet life.
Tyfu (mouselet) - An Upper-middle Class Guard who was recruited by Shangyue shortly before his takeover began. She is one of the most vocal supporters of the King and enjoys intervening when his critics get a little too loud. Not only is she unafraid of starting a fight, she never loses.
Internal Rebellion - Living within the pride
Ota (Ecavi) - A huntress in the Lower-middle Class, Ota is a seer and has a general sense of the ultimate fate of Shangyue and the pride following his takeover. She, with the help of best friend and fellow seer, Kamia, has kept quiet watch over the pride and is now working with Meshach and his rebels to start building support. Though she has a known association with Kamia, her major role in the rebellion remains a secret -- though now she is forced to continue cautiously until she is ready to be known.
Kamia (Ecavi) - A huntress in the Lower-middle Class, Kamia was a victim of an unpleasant encounter with the king that resulted in the birth of four healthy High Class cubs. Already at the head of the internal rebellion, and concerned for her cubs, she took them outside the pride to the external rebel camp-- only to have them all found out. Like Ota, she is a seer, but now takes a quieter role in the rebellion as she struggles with how her little family has turned out.
Umepatwa & Ndogo (Ecavi & Saint Sergio) - Shangyue's illegitimate sons by Kamia, they are barely considered noteworthy by the Loyalists and have been allowed to remain in their mother's care. What roles they might take and what they might accomplish remains to be seen!
Uchanjaa (mouselet) - A guard in the high class, one of a very small number of lions who openly opposed Shangyue on the night of his coronation. Though he is the only one who remained in the pride, he has not made any more attempts to take down the king-- and he is one of a few troublesome lions in the pride under surveillance.
Nyeusi (mouselet) - A huntress in the lower-middle class that, to most casual observers, seems to have lost her mind completely. She firmly believes that Shangyue's actions have caused the Great Lion to turn his back on the Mwezi'Johari, and that the only way to correct this is to remove him from the throne. With an unkempt appearance and a flair for dramatic speeches, even the most serious of her assertions are hard to take seriously-- but she has yet to be deterred.
Note: Because so few currently take her seriously and she outwardly appears to be utterly insane, Shangyue is primarily unconcerned with her.
Batu (nessiaing) - A guard in the middle class, Batu is a relatively new member of the pride. He is a fiercely loyal lion that gives his all to those he cares about and will fight for what he believes is right. He joined the pride shortly after meeting Meshach and acts as the external rebellion's primary internal contact.
External Rebellion - Living on the borders
Meshach (magnadearel) - Formerly a prince in the Mwezi'Johari, Meshach was the leader of the little rebellion that was attempted at Shangyue's coronation. He was injured and allowed to leave the pride, but he didn't go far. He lived quietly on the borders of the pride until he was discovered by the pride after offering sanctuary to Shangyue's illegitimate children and would-be heir. For now, the king barely considers him a threat.
Nketa (mouselet) - Shangyue's true illegitimate heir by Kamia, Nketa is a secret doppelganger of the shaman apprentice Antara. She is a bitter girl who resents that she is stuck the rebels' pawn and separated from her family.

Rewards
Note: Rewards that require coloring can only be done if the corresponding colorist has completed quota for the month, that means you have a better chance of a quick response if it is nearer the end of the month or may have to wait a bit until extra work like this can be taken on. If you claim a custom, you will get it eventually!
To count towards a reward, each RP must start no earlier than the date this thread was created. Additionally, they should be at least somewhat relevant to the overall pride situation (small talk about the weather won't cut it) and, to keep things simple, they should fit breeding standard (min. 1000 words, 5 posts per character).
Each RP can only be used toward one reward. For example, if you use an RP for a rank change then you cannot use that same RP towards a custom.

Unlimited Rewards
IC Clout or Shaming - Since ranks are class dependent and Shangyue is technically following traditional structure, this will likely be the most common practice. Any lions who openly support Shangyue are likely to be given a little more liberty, while those who openly oppose him are likely to be given a little more trouble. Of course, those who take it a step farther will get more benefits or trouble. You need at least 1 RP to claim this reward but the more evidence you have, the more interesting your reward can get. You may even end up on our Notable Members list!
Rank Changes - Applications for the Royal Guard are open. More information on the Royal Guard can be found here. Requires 1 RP in support of the King.
Limited Rewards
Control Over An Assassination Attempt - 0/1 claimed - If you have a character who has strong beliefs about what is going on around the pride, this can be used to give them their opportunity to make a huge statement. You can make your own plan, find your own supporting characters (if not planning something solo/stealthy) and execute it as you see fit. If you choose to target the King, I will happily play along-- and just how successful you are will depend on what kind of IC planning goes into it and what kind of IC support your character has. If I can simply not justify Shangyue surviving, I will let him go through this.
That said, you don't have to target the King. There are numerous other members of the pride who might become targets, but you'll need to discuss that with them. Aside from the RP requirement, you'll also need to make the case for your would-be assassin when claiming this reward. Requires 5 RPs + reason.
Edits for Pre-existing Characters - 1/5 claimed - For those of you who prefer to build on existing characters rather than worry about new ones, you can trade in your RPs to get some edits done! They can range from expression to extreme but cannot include items.
At least one of the required RPs should be with the character being edited. These will be done by Quaji. Requires 3 RPs.
Edited Customs - 1/3 claimed - If you have another character you need for some plots, or want a new character who has a different take on how things are going around here, this is a good place to get them!
These are full customs, and edits can range from minimal to complex but please be reasonable. Your concept should fit into the pride and be prepared to stay here permanently.
These are non-growing, adult-only customs.
These will be colored by Safaia. Requires 5 RPs + Character Concept (personality etc, not just appearance).

Miscellaneous Rewards
Cub Raffle - Currently 0 available - At many various points in this extended metaplot, pride members will be breeding. The parents could be just about anybody, and they could be involved in any variety of things around here. For example, Shangyue will certainly have offspring available as participation rewards, though legitimate prince/princesses are a ways off. Anybody who is interested in playing cubs born into the pride during Shangyue's reign, especially to notable members (as listed above), can claim tickets in this raffle! Requires 1 RP per ticket.
Cubs will be raffled as they are received so parents aren't waiting months for names and ranks. Anybody who wishes to donate cubs to this, PM Ecavi! Nobody is obligated to do so and the only notable members anybody can count on having offspring available through this would be those owned by Ecavi. Tickets are unlimited, but you can only win one cub. If you win a cub you are not interested in, you may refuse and it will be re-raffled-- but there is no guarantee every entrant will get a cub.

How long will this metaplot last?
Until Shangyue is overthrown! There is no set deadline, it could be months or it could be more than a year. It all depends.

Note for all: Firaga is open for poping in on things as needed! Not so much for full-blown 1-on-1 RPs, but cameo appearances are cool! Or even if you want to come to me to plot something to infer in an RP.
