The Family

The Mother: (Jovi of Shadows) Igazi is distrustful and slow to warm up to changes. She's had a difficult life at the paws of cruel lions, and will not allow herself or her sister to be pushed around. They've recently joined the Bonelands pride as Busisa, and Igazi has yet to completely let her guard down around her new pride sisters; much less the pride's males. The appearance of cubs is nothing short of`a miracle due to this attitude, and completely baffle (and amuse) her sister. This is Igazi's first litter, and she not quite sure what to do with herself; but, on the other paw she's still wary about letting others help raise them. She's especially wary about letting males (both adult and adolescent) around her cubs.

The Aunt: (Jovi of Shadows) Uju is typically a carefree and friendly lioness who enjoys having a good time. She's quick to trust strangers and will be pleasant and affectionate towards them until they give her a reason not to. A skilled and competitive hunter, she quickly found her place in her new pride. She loves her sister, and does everything in her power to help drag her out of her shell, and will definitely help give some balance to the cub's lives. Don't let her friendly demeanor fool you though, she's fierce and willing protect the one's she loves at cost to herself; and, that especially includes her new nieces and nephews.

The Father: (Annchen) Jasiri is in the best shape he's ever been, and he's planning to stick around for as long as he can in his privileged position. He imagines himself a great gift to all lionesses and is a bit provoked by the fact that something as trivial as his white mane seems to be a disadvantage when wooing Bonelands ladies. But they'll see how great he is eventually... He'll just have to work harder to prove them wrong.

The Pride: As is Bonelands tradition, the cubs will be looked after by most lionesses; however, it should be noted that their mother will be very wary of this at first. Its her first litter, and as a fairly new (and not particularly well-liked) busisa she'll be on her guard. Uju, on the other paw, will try to encourage as much interaction as possible so the cubs can get familiar with their pride mates and traditions.

Brother: (Jovi of Shadows) Bamba's name means 'to catch'.

Sister: (Annchen) Jagazi, named after her mother and her father.

Your mother and your aunt have two very different ideas about how to act around everyone else. Igazi tells you to be wary of what others are capable of, and Uju encourages you to take chances and to get to know everyone around you. How has this affected you? Are you more willing to listen to your mother or take your aunt's advice? Can you find a happy medium between the two? Better think quick, because there's some cubs over there calling for you to come play with them!

Cub's Name: Ekundayo (sorrow becomes joy)
Personality: Ekundayo is a smart brave little cub, she is a little rash and vain, thinking herself a lovely little princess at times. She is warm and outgoing.
Prompt Response: Ekundayo eyed the other cubs, she thoughts a moment, then despite her mother's fussing she rushed forwards to go play with the other cubs. She leaned down into a play fighting pose and gave a little growl to another female, there with a dark coat and dark eyes. Her eyes twinkled with mischief and her desire to establish herself in this world. She said "Care to play fight??" Then she play growled again as she waited for a response. As soon as the other cub responded and agreed. Ekundayo pounced on the other cub, working hard to try to pin the other cub.

Personality: Strong, bold, Katlego is not one to settle for being bottom of the pride.
Ideas for the furture? If Katlego has to decided between being celibate and leaving the pride he will leave the pride to seek out a life of his own.

Cub's Name: Futhi (Again, more than once)
Personality: Futhi never openly trusts another. She’ll always require one more proof that you mean her no harm. Never fear that she’ll always be sitting on the sidelines like a grumpy elder. Futhi will join in with the pride’s daily life, but she guards what she says around others. Deep inside she’s always watching.
Prompt Response: Cubs were calling her to come play. Futhi listened to determine if they were sincere with their offer. It sounded honest to her. The golden cub nodded respectfully to her aunt and mother. “I will go play and be careful.” She scampered off to join the cubs in a fast game of tag.

Concept Boys

Cub's Name: Themba (trust)
Personality: Lovable and adoring. Themba does his best to be everything for everyone. He may be perhaps a bit too trusting at times, but quickly brushes it off. He enjoys being a nomad. The wind calls him to follow.
Ideas for the future? He will eventually leave the pride and strike out on his own to discover his own path.

Cub's Name: Pisim'ochem (loosely 'sun kissed' in Cree)
Personality: Pisim is an outgoing, determined, curious, and excitable young lioness. She is eager to learn and explore and to try new things. She will grow into being a good hunter, and a good storyteller, due to her inquisitive nature and determination. She is carefree in general attitude, but calculated in her decisions and actions.
Prompt Response:

Pisim had been wandering about, not too far from mother and home, although she loved to explore already. She had followed a big beetle, chasing it and batting at it when she came close enough. The young lioness had wanted to see how it looked up close, but it took off every time she tried to look at it, so she had turned it into a game of tag instead. Pisim was very good to play by herself, even though she mostly liked playing with other cubs better. Sometimes they weren't curious about the things that she was, and so she opted to play by herself. It hadn't been too long before she had come upon some other cubs who were playing, and once they had spotted her, they were calling her over to play with them. This was a strange decision for the young lioness to make, as she considered the words of her mother and her aunt.

On one hand, her mother would have called her back, wary of letting her around the other cubs, unsure of how they would act toward her darling precious cub. On the other, her aunt would certainly encourage her to go and play with them, have fun and maybe get a little dirty. This left the little lioness contemplating what to do. She wanted to listen to her mother and be a good girl, but sometimes mother's rules and worries were restrictive to Pisim's outgoing and exploratory personality. She looked back toward where home was, just barely able to see her mother tending her brothers and sisters, and then back to the other cubs calling her over.

"Eh, no harm no foul!" The small yellow lioness said to herself, shrugging and sneaking toward them as she double-checked to see if her mother was watching. She was so curious to get to know her pride-mates, especially the ones her own age, Pisim was dying to socialize. Perhaps she would follow Aunty's way today, and what mother didn't know wouldn't hurt her!

Just as Pisim began to slink off toward the other cubs, pouncing off toward them with a big grin spread across her features, she heard mother's voice from back at the den. "Pisim'ochem, you come back here! It's time for your bath you sneaky little lioness!"

The tiny yellow lioness sank, and with a distraught look toward the other cubs, who had also heard her mother calling, and a look of embarassment on her features as they laughed over her being called by her mother, she turned tail reluctantly to go back.

Next time...Pisim thought to herself, returning to her mother. Next time.
