"Ahhh- look guys, horses!!" Danny had her face glued to the window, completely enamored with the surrounding landscape. Every time there was an animal, Danny would find a way to let everyone know that there was animal. It was very important.

They were currently in a tiny compartment, squished up very nicely on a train going to the middle of a large expanse of plains. Nobody really came out to this part of Halloween, as it was largely wildlands that couldn't be used anymore. Occasionally the train would pass a broken-down barn or a small village, but it was, for the most part, empty.

Today was the day that they were finally going to explore that dumb old castle Rikki had found. Danny had been (initially) not very happy because the train ride was long and she didn't like sitting still, but now it was relatively entertaining since there were a lot of sights to keep her busy. "Do you guys think there's gonna be snacks there?" Danny could go for some snacks. At the moment, she had very meager supplies packed into a small backpack which was strapped to her back (it had been quite the hassle getting it around her wings, even with Rikki's help).

She looked around the circle of people they'd gathered and smiled. This was going to be fun! Even if it began with a long train ride!

"I don't think so. I told you to pack more before we left. Maybe there's a snack cart or something we can buy from before we get off."

Rikki was leaning against Danny, his head on her shoulder while he played a game on his phone. He'd made fuss about not taking his horse instead of the train, but no matter how rad she was, Espoo couldn't fit six grown people. The train was probably faster anyways.

Danny seemed more thrilled about it than he'd expected. Every time she pointed out something new he glanced up and made some comment or another, letting her know he was listening. The area was pretty, but he was quickly getting tired of being in the little compartment.

Shun wasn't really sure how he was wrangled into this but he was. He said nothing as Danny exclaimed about there being horses in the field somewhere. With a light grunt, he just rested his on one of his hands, idly watching the world of halloween zoom past as they rode the train. From what he knew, they were headed off to the middle of nowhere, essentially.

"Hell if I know," he grumbled. In any case, it was too late for him to leave now. He might as well go along with this damn adventure.

Andrew would have told her to shut up but it had proven ineffective the first 6 times. As it was he was busy pretending to be unrelated to her. For one, he really hated being in cramped quarters, with a bunch of people he didn’t really know. For two he really hated being in close quarters with a bunch of people he didn’t really know on a moving object. He didn’t dare mention that he got motion sick, though it was fairly obvious from his solemn demeanor and the way he tried not to look out the window, instead just staring straight ahead with a vague look of disinterest. He didn’t try to look outside to see whatever mini Danny was pointing.

“Don’t talk about food right now.” Where they there yet? He wanted to get off.

West wasn't suffering from motion sickness, nor did he particularly care that one third of the people in their small, probably flammable car were on fire, though that hadn't prevented him from spending twenty minutes or so devising a personal escape plan. The demon had agreed to accompany Danny and her boilfriend on this adventure because he was curious, not only about Rikki's castle, but about the strange, cryptic map he had found as well. He had been putting off further investigation—even though getting ready to move into a house of his own was certainly a valid reason to stall—but the time would come when he would have to clear up the wrathy mysteries he'd uncovered or die in the attempt. Helping the flame demon was a good way to see if he was ready. Or at least that was his excuse.

He had occupied himself with staring out of the window for a time after they had departed, but he'd been rather bored for quite a while now, and it was starting to show.

"You gonna puke, kid?" he asked, narrowing his eyes at Andrew. "Y'do it anywhere near me, an' you'll be out there gettin' trampled by her damned horses."

"Let's go on an adventure, she said. It'll be fun," Taima muttered, focused more on the compartment door than the world rushing by them. When she had agreed to go on Danny's little field trip--only partially to shut the demoness up--she hadn't known they'd be traveling by small moving box. If she had, she might have endured Danny's babbling until she had found something else to ramble on about.

Taima just didn't do tight, cramped spaces; she was uncomfortable anywhere she couldn't stretch her wings out. Now they were tucked tightly to her back to avoid unnecessary jostling from the train ride and the people she was sitting between. It was partly for courtesy--there was no room to stretch out in there, after all--but mostly because they were occasionally sparking, her anxiety loosening her control over her natural abilities. "Don't know why we couldn't have flown."

It was then that a small old lady came by with a large cart of food. Everything from bat wings, to chocolate toads to spider's eyes. "Candy from the cart, dears?"

This all seemed very familiar.

"Ooh! Ooh! ME! PICK ME," Danny said, pushing Rikki off her shoulder and shimmying over to the cart. "I want one of those and one of those and ooh like three of those-"

She turned to the others. "You guys?"

Rikki went careening off of Danny's shoulder and into Shun's. He winced, fumbling his phone but thankfully not dropping it. "Sorry, bro," he said quietly to the other grim, righting himself.

"We can't fly because us measly grims lack wings. And Danny's are just decoration." He shrugged. "Trains were the safest bet."

Shun grunted when someone suddenly faceplanted right into his shoulder. Slowly, he turned towards Rikki, giving him a fairly cold glare, even though he apologized for slipping onto him like that. Shaking his head slowly, he cast a brief glance to the others, then returned his attention to the window. He wasn't hungry and while he generally didn't need a great deal of room, he didn't really appreciate the cramped space they were all in. It was making him irritable. And so for now, he pretty much ignored the rest of the party for the time being.

Or tried to, at least.

"Oh Jack off. I'm not going to..." Andrew made the mistake of turning to glare at West. He turned a few shades paler and turned back to position trying very hard not to throw up right then and there.

And then the cart came by with candy. Normally he would have convinced Danny for something, but right now. They were on a moving object that seemed to sway side to side and turned and jostled at random places. "Keep that away from me." he tucked his wings over himself and held his head in his hands.

The grims should have just summoned something to fly on or something. The Train was a stupid idea. Nevermind that distance flying wasn't his thing, Trains were even less so.

Turning toward their visitor with a grin born of Andrew's suffering, West nodded at the old woman, throwing far too much money on her cart and grabbing a fluffy, spider-covered confection in return. He leaned closer to the younger demon, resting his elbows on his thighs as he slowly unwrapped the cupcake and took a messy bite. He kept eating, not at all concerned with the fact that Andrew might not look up at him again until they stopped. It didn't matter whether or not he was seen. In this instance, it was the thought that counted.

He groaned, knowing that the older demon was doing that just to piss him off. "If I throw up, I am throwing up on you." he groaned and leaned away from the demon keeping his eyes closed.

"Are we there yet?"

"I'm sure I could have been convinced to carry a couple of you if it meant not sitting in a shoe box for hours," Taima replied, rolling her eyes. She gave the cart full of candy a cursory once-over before shaking her head. She wasn't much for sweets, even when she could find the few that she liked, but she didn't want anything to eat anyway; all she wanted was out.

Well if out was what they wanted, out was what they were going to get.

The entire train cart began to shake and then haulted all at once, shooting everyone to their right about 10 feet. That meant the poor grandma too. She and the cart both trembled and collapsed, flying down the hallway and out of sight. At least she was a ghost she she could phase right through things.

The booth members were not so lucky. Those on the left side of the train (Taima, Andrew and West) were thrown onto those on the right (Danny, Rikki and Shun), and Shun's face was smashed right into the window. Hopefully Andrew kept his lunch in.

The train had, inevitably crashed. All windows and doors immediately popped open for a timely exit, and passengers were quickly escorted down the stairs and off the damaged cart via flying monster (or their own wings, if they had them).

Outside of the train crash, people were scurrying to and fro, all shouting about how THE TRAIN WAS CURSED (which was both an ironic and practical thing to say, considering they were in Halloween). If one examined the front of the train, it would very much look like they had crashed right into an invisible wall. The conductors were prodding said invisible wall, all scratching their heads, completely unaware of what might have caused it. They'd crashed right by a lakeside, luckily near a very small fishing village, which sat on the side of a lake. In the distance was a set of foothills, with a small forest surrounding an enormous castle, one that looked very much decrepit and ancient, but still had a sort of whimsical charm to it.

"KINGSHILL CASTLE. ANYBODY HERE GOIN' TO KINGSHILL CASTLE?" A man was screaming on the lakeside. He looked old and somewhat worn down.

"Aw, a'int nobody goin' to ol' Kingshill, Baron! That place's been abandoned for years."

"Isn't that where we're going?" Danny asked Rikki. She honestly wasn't sure anymore. "You guys okay?" she asked the others. For the most part, she was doing alright, but her wings were a little torn up. Nothing worth fussing over though. She was more worried about Taima with her big a** wings.

Shun lifted his head as the train began to shake. That wasn't normal. Before he could really even wonder what was happening, his head ended up smashing right into the window as the whole thing suddenly lurched. With a groan, he pushed himself away, rubbing his forehead. For the moment, he was dazed. Outside, he could hear a number of people chattering about what had just happened.

"Bloody hell," he murmured, as he looked around once they were out.
