Heavy footfalls sunk in the snow, making a soft crunching noise as if they stepped on newly fallen snowflakes. The wind whipped around him as he continued his ascend towards the top and near the heavens, his teal mussed up mane getting him his way and becoming more of a bother to deal with. Usually, he took great comfort in his think locks. Now, he would have liked nothing better than to have it cut from him somehow. It provided warmth but other than that it did more harm than good. His thick fur could have probably done enough of a good job keeping him warm, and as long as he moved, the chill shouldn’t have bothered him.
Nonetheless, the frigid winds that blew in his face, hindering his eyesight and stinging his eyes, made him terribly cold. He gave another shiver as a fierce wind beat against his side, making him pause and turn his head to the side. Perhaps the gods had made that particular gust powerful on purpose. For what he found was a burgundy coloured leopard standing tall, not far by, continuing her ascent upwards.
”Ah! Wait up!” he shouted, quickening his climb and towards the female in question. Having company with him on his journeys was always a relief. And unfortunately, Heiko wasn’t with him. This lass would suffice nicely, however. That is, if she even wanted to have some form of company and didn’t have any ill intent. ”Where are you heading?”

The weather was absolutely infuriating.
Lokesh panted, finding the lack of air up in the mountains all the more infuriating. He was a lion. Lions probably weren’t meant to be climbing snowy mountains. If it weren’t for the very minute chance of finding his family up here, then the male wouldn’t have even chanced the journey upwards. And it was becoming increasingly apparent that no one in their right mind would be traveling upwards, at least in this weather. Perhaps it would be best to take a break. But would the leopardess believe the same?
”I was thinking about going up!” he shouted, wind making it offly hard to see once again as it pushed against his mane. She asked if he was, right? The howling winds made it hard to tell. And, if he thought it would help any, he would gladly pry open his mouth and n** at the winds. But he was no longer a naïve cub; that wouldn’t do any good. Mother nature had her own way of doing things.
However; a hard frown flitted over his maw afterwards. Partially, due to the harsh weather that surrounded them both. But mainly, it was because of the lass in front of him. He felt obligated to warn her of the treacherous road that lay ahead of them, and even suggest that it would be best to stop moving forward instead of continuing into more perilous land. If it was he, he wouldn’t really care. But another being….Lokesh didn’t want to see or know of someone dying when he could have taken preventive measures against it. ”Maybe we should stop until the storm dies down!”

Hmm. He seemed alright. Damu let down her guard, although it hardly felt like anything had changed with the wind whipping against her pelt. She could hardly imagine anything living up here in storms like these; but if the leopardess herself and the lion before her had managed to convince themselves to climb it... What was stopping anything from thriving up here? Or, even close to the top of the mountain?
A brush of cold snow caused the red leopard to raise her shoulders and Damu reminded herself that she wasn't immortal. Should she continue the trek she'd be putting herself in further unnecessary danger and that wouldn't do so well when she was hoping to walk off the mountain alive.
So when Lokesh proposed they stay, she was more than happy to accept. "Yeah, alright!" Her squinting eyes scanned the scenery, or what they could see of the scenery that was. Something dark in the distance behind Lokesh caught her attention and Damu had pushed herself further away from the rock structure she clung to in order to see it clearly. Thankfully she hadn't leaned out too far, or else she would have gone falling down all the way she had spent hours trying to climb.
But Damu's mind wasn't on her life being in danger, it was on the possibility that over there, deep in the snow was a cave. The perfect refuge for two underprepared mountain climbers.
"What's over there?!" She asked loudly, fighting to keep her voice heard over the wind.
bullterrierlove No, that's fine! I feel like I'm the slow one here ;A;

A rush of relief went through Lokesh's body at Damu's readiness to stay there. The issue was, here wasn't exactly safe either. But it was a start. Better than climbing up that mountain and risking both their necks. After all, he couldn't just leave her alone out here. Bile rose to his throat. Just thinking about leaving made his stomach churn. He let out a long drawn sigh, smiling at the female. He was sure that they could make it.
His relaxation didn't last long however. The female was moving away from the rock. His jaw clenched as he stared at the ground below her. It looked steady, but he wasn't sure. An avalanche was always a possibility in this weather. A shiver went down his spine. Surely, that would be the death of them both. He hadn't met anyone to survive and live to tell their tale. "Be careful, he warned, taking a tentative step forward. He'd be able to catch her if anything happened...or so he hoped.
With much effort, Lokesh turned to glance at the area she was directing towards. Hair quickly got in his face, and it took some trouble to brush away the stray teal strands. Squinting, he could make out a vague shape, different from the rest of the snowy mountain. "Stay here," he called, sparring her one last glance before slowly trudging through the snow. Sure enough, it was a cave. A chill swept through him. Who knew what was inside. It was their only hope though. And he would just have to trust and hope that, if there was anyone in there, that they were nice and willing to share.
And so he began his short trek back towards her.
