Hey guys! If I haven't told you already, Welcome to Revolution: Gaia! Our guild is very special to us and I know a lot of you feel the same way too, but some of you might be thinking"What IS Revolution: Gaia?" Well, this thread is here to answer that.
Revolution: Gaia is a movement that aims to bring concerned Gaians together and let our voices be heard through peaceful means. As someone wise in this guild has already stated, "This is not a revolt, it is a revolution!". Our guild aims to bring a voice to our complaints, suggestions, and fears and help the Gaia staff to understand their user base. More than anything, our goal is to be Heard.
Some of the issues that this guild is most passionate about are:
● Inflation and reparation of the virtual economy.
● Rule standardization, no more he-said she said!
● Being treated as people, not ATMs.
● A lessening of the Cash Shop bombardment we've seen recently.
● Ways to speak out in a constructive and polite manner.
And of course, the thing that is most important to us, Being Heard.
What kind of actions does this guild take to get its message across?
We do many things, and here are some examples: Getting the Look and using our avatars to make a statement by wearing gold shop items, Gaia-themed items, or holding one of our SOS signs.
Revolution: Gaia avatars, art, and writing in the arena to showcase our cause.
We post in EVERY ATS with questions that the guild members feel are important.

We're also setting up video campaigns, A day of silence, email campaigns, letters, twitter campaigns, and so much more!
Why don't we all just quit?
I love Gaia. I can't speak for anyone but myself on that however I believe that if you care enough to join this guild, you're more willing to fight than to quit.
Why is everything all about "Peaceful" actions?
Our guild believes that peaceful efforts and communication is much more effective than violence and screaming. If you scream at someone to do something for you they'll be angry and resentful if they do it at all. If you ask them politely you're much more likely to get a response.

First and foremost, WELCOME to our guild!
As you already know, we are a peaceful group looking to have our collective opinion voiced loud enough for someone to hear.
With that, there are just a few simple rules that we ask of everyone when posting in this guild:
1. Please be respectful. Flaming; name-calling; rudeness is not allowed. Please remember that there is a real person behind the keyboard and the words we see on our screen. Sometimes we just need to take a second and breathe before we post or reply in a manner we might regret. Respect is our number one priority.
2. Please don't name-drop. Simply put, this means don't cite a particular user or any member of Gaia staff by name along with a commentary or opinion about that user. It's okay to link or refer to a particular forum/guild post, but let's not start saying things about the poster.
This rule especially goes for the CEO and COO of Gaia.
I am not adding this rule by choice, but rather by caution.
Refer to Rule #1 and remember that respect is our number one priority.
3. Please don't make derogatory comments about Gaia or Gaia personnel at all. Let's face it: We're all here because we're disappointed; disillusioned; upset; peeved; etc. about a few of Gaia's decisions and choices, but calling them names like money-grubbers; greed-mongers; money-hungry; calling for an action to fire the CEO; etc. isn't going to do anything at all. Opinions and discussion are welcome, but let's keep it civilized and respectful.

Also, please steer away from words like "mob"; "attack"; "demonstration"; "protest"; "revolt". Instead, please consider words like "gathering"; "guild-hosted event"; "user-run event"; etc.
We are not an angry mob, but rather, we are a peaceful group that simply want to have our voices heard.
4. Please don't spam us, please do not solicit donations or beg for items, and please don't be upset if your thread is moved or locked. We love your ideas, but please take a quick look around before starting a new thread on a topic that's already being discussed. If this happens, we will reply with a polite comment to point you in the right direction for the existing thread. Please don't take this personally: We're just keeping things tidy and easy to navigate. If you find your thread locked or deleted, please feel free to send a private message to me or any of our guild staff to address any questions or concerns you might have about the decision to lock or delete your thread. We're just here to help.
Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy! You're amongst friends here, and we all share the same vision: We're all working to return the site we love to a place we actually enjoy!

To help with the organization of our guild, the crew is split into several roles. Please read through these roles so that you'll know who is best to answer your questions.
Captain
xx I met my fate xx Now known as: Neshira Namea Returns
Our captain is responsible for overseeing all guild events and representing the guild in the forums outside. She has complete control over the guild mule and are the highest authority when it comes to guild rules. She also has final say on any and all guild activities. Questions that cannot go to any other crew member or are of a highly sensitive nature can go to her. Her inbox is open any time you need her for any reason!
Treasurer and Vice President:
Pwnder
Our VP is second only to the captain. She takes care of anything that the captain can't and also has access to the mule. She works very closely with you guys the members and the general public! Her inbox is also always open if you need anything at all. In addition Pwnder fills the role of guild treasurer. She has complete control of the guild mule's funds and inventory.
Events Coordinator:
Dogoda
This user is responsible for determining when major events are conducted within the guild, and organizing them. Any questions about events or suggestions for new events should be directed at her. She is the lead event coordinator for Flash space events like our recent Grunny Invasion. For questions regarding flash space events, current events, future events, or event suggestions please PM her.
Moderators:
Izzy Derp
Darius Runan
Kangit
They're responsible for moderating guild threads and will be responsible for addressing any moderator concerns. If you have a question about a thread, its content, or would like to suggest it be moved or deleted, you can PM them or any of the crew.
Recruiter:
POSITION OPEN
This user is in charge of recruiting new members, as well as overseeing the applications of new recruits. They have a quota of invites she must fill every week and tools with which to do so. They are in charge of scanning SF and other parts of Gaia-at-large to try and pinpoint new members as well as screening member requests. If you have anyone in mind that you think should be a part of our guild, threads you think may contain people worth inviting, or questions about our member selection process, those go to this person.
General Staff:
General staff members cover every area of the site as needed and fill in any gaps that the other staff may miss. Questions that don't seem to fit any of the above categories may be PMed to them. If necessary they can pass them on to the other staff members.
Former Captains:
GC Revolt is the founder of our guild. He created us and it was his influence that made us the powerhouse we are today.
Madame Xiva took GC Revolt's place when he unexpectedly had to leave. She set up our rules and guidelines and brought our member count up to 1,000! She resigned unexpectedly due to stress, but is missed and remembered as our leader.
Pegasaurus Rex was the next captain after Xiva. Due to real life issues she stepped down. It is thanks to her that our guild became even more refined and we appreciate everything she's done.
Pwnder She served as the captain after Rexy's departure. Her amazing spirit and awesome dedication really helped our guild to move forward. Real life forced her to switch positions with Fate but she is still on as our awesome VC! |
