The mists were always well guarded and always being watched. Of course it hadn't taken long for a character like Van to be found. Van'kal might have been a god but he was never good at concealing his identity or being subtle about being around. At first sight a lion would be able to figure out that he was an other worldly creature with the horn and wings. His size was not exactly the biggest god, but he was no shorty either.

The sentinels had done a good job of approaching the god and leading him back to the heart of the mists where he was to meet some one of high importance. At least Van concluded that part. Usually, the god did his best to avoid large gatherings of lions like this, but in all honesty he had no idea that there were actually lions hidden among the mists. Who knew? Usually, lions were much more obvious that an immortal had no problem skipping around or flying over the territory.

This bunch did not seem like a bunch he should be worried about. If anything, they'd been polite and nice to be around. None stayed though. As soon as he'd been lead to where he needed to be the lions turned their backs and did not look back. Quite traditional of them which was refreshing.

The question now was who was he to meet. Van swore that one of the sentinels explained but Van hadnt paid attention.

Rochben ||
A god had been found at the border, or so the word was. Haldir had taken charge of the situation but Kisulisuli had run ahead with the news. Gods were welcome here, encouraged to make their roots here, and even coaxed in with the promise of caring for their offspring. However, the two figureheads of the pride stood shoulder by shoulder in direct opposition to one another in demeanor. Rochben, who had watched his pride burn under the wrath of an angry god, stood still as a stone. Every muscle in his body was knotted and tensed. He hadn't spoken since the captain's report and had instead taken to staring out across the lands in anxious wait.

Maji ||
In contrast, the arch magi was laying quietly against the wall of the council hall. It was a large circular room with three windows- one facing each 'branch' of the pride and three doors, each leading to the winding caves that would escort members from the house of the magi, the house of the oracles, and the military house into the chamber. It was a place for the three leaders of each branch to come together and advise the king. Today it would serve as a welcoming hall to the strange god found at the border.

Maji, like Rochben, had encountered gods in the past. The worst of them had been Tanaka. A horrible being with no manners, he had been been needlessly inhospitable and hostile the moment he stepped into the lands. He was glad to see the back of him and his crimson-pelted mate.

Glancing over to the king, he smiled. "Rochben, come now."

Rochben ||
The king turned his head and frowned. He could hear paws falling in the hall, large paws, on their way to the chambers. Sighing, he turned away from the window and faced the doorway. "I know, master Maji. Bad memories leave deep scars."

Maji ||
"And bad first impressions leave wounded relationships." He pointed out, true to his title, he always seemed to be the voice of reason. "Relax. If it was a hostile god, I doubt they would abide by the greeting they were given. We'd all be piles of ash by now."

Rochben ||
"Quite right." He grunted. "And you will lay there to meet your guest?"

Maji ||
"Respectfully, it's better than standing like an old log against the window." Regardless of his words, Maji rose to a stand and shook his mane out. Despite his age, he seemed...somehow more youthful these days. An additional spring in his step and a hint of life in his eyes. He raised his chin proudly and watched as the new god entered the hall.

"Ah, welcome." He offered, dipping his head slightly. "I hope old Haldir wasn't too much of a stick in the mud."

Rochben ||
Nice first impression. Rochben cleared his throat and stepped forward. "We welcome you, your grace."

These two had a very wise yet soft feeling to them. The god felt welcomed but he also felt like a child among adults. Funny, considering most beings took one look at Van and would come to the conclusion he was an all powerful and all knowing kind. Van had powers but the god never really used them. As far as wisdom, he had years of it, but never applied it to anything. That wasn't to say that Van was thick in the head, but the god was not one to dwell on anything too serious.

The god gave the two lions a very wide grin.

"Why would you call me grace. That sounds like a girls name. I go by Van'Kal but more often... Just Van. Yeah that will do." He spread his wings out and stretched them both to his back before folding them neatly to his side.

"Quite a pride you've got here. I assure you I had no idea that there were any lions here. I was simply passing through on travel." His ears went back. He hoped he wasn't in trouble. He was pretty sure he wasn't but still. Adult figures tended to make things tense. Being the god of innocence gave the god a childish edge. He was much better than when he'd first been reborn but he still was very much a child on the inside.

"Ah geeze. I ... didn't offend you guys did you. You're not going to lecture me." He groaned over thinking his situation. Or, possibly under thinking it.

Rochben ||
The behavior of the god was startling. At first, Rochben could only stare. As the god seemed almost declawed in nature, innocent, and almost cub-like in demeanor the king relaxed with a sigh. He ignored the pointed 'I told you so' glance from the old magi standing a few yards away and tried to keep focused on their honored guest.

"Your grace is a title we give out of respect to our superiors. If you wish, we will use your given name instead." He ducked his head. "My name is Rochben. I am the king of this pride. The grinning jackal over there-" He motioned to Magi, "Is Magi, arch magi of the pride."

Maji ||
"Flattered as always, my lord." Maji rolled his eyes and looked to Van.

"...hardly. A lecture? Not unprovoked at least." And now it was his turn to ignore the comical snort from the king. Maji was famous for long winded 'lectures' in regards to the pride. He'd lived too long and seen too much to keep it all to himself.

"Actually we celebrate the arrival of gods here. If my lord is weary, our oracles will see to you. Ease any aches, pains, and hurts you might have while providing water and food at your call." He stepped closer to the god, giving him a short inspection. He'd not seen this one before, nor heard of any like him. How odd. "Might I ask what you represent and what brings you here?"

Ah so these two were both very important figures to this pride. Van wasn't sure if he should be relieved or even more tense. It was surely an honor to have a pride like this hold a god like him self in high regard. Mortals were very strange in deed. But Van was honored, and a little intimidated, at the same time. Humbly the alicorn lion bowed his head to both.

"It is an honor to be in your presence. The both of you. I didn't expect such a welcome from such important lions but I am grateful for the hospitality." Van lifted his head with a dopey grin smeared across his face.

"I assure you I was only passing through. I sincerely did not mean to cause such a disturbance. There was nothing I wanted or needed. Just aimless wanderings I suppose." He looked thoughtful before giving a nod. Yeah that sounded about right.

The lion next to Rochben had asked for Van's domain. Oh that was a big word and since cub hood the lion got tongue tied trying to say it when under pressure.

"Inomnocents." Close. Van took a breath and tried again keeping his head high and reminding him self he was a god. "INNOcence." There! That word had always been the bane to his tongue. At least when he was supposed to say it right. Van could say it when he wasn't putting such importance on it.

"May I ask what your name is. I understand that Rochben is a king. But who are you?" He seemed quite important. Van was curious.

Rochben ||
"The honor is all ours, your grace." Rochben assured the god. "We have not seen many of your kind since the fallout. If it's your wish, we could allow you to stay for some time. The oracles would see to your comforts, ensure that you are well-rested, and any aches and hurts were seen to."

Of course, the god didn't seem as interested in seeking out the praise and comforts that were offered to them by the mortals. In fact he seemed quite different than most gods he had met . He seemed cublike, almost naive. When he revealed his domain, Rochben mouthed a silent "oh" and nodded to himself. That certainly explained it.

"Well not all who wander are lost." Rochben quoted, lifting a claw.

Maji ||
Rolling his eyes at the king, Maji turned back to the god. "I think what he means to say is that there is a reason for e everything, regardless of how aimless it may seem. And we are hardly 'important' really." He chuckled. "Formalities are just ways to get other lions to mind their own business really."

He smiled a bit more as the lion tried to pronounce his domain, then succeeded. Another kindly domain. Thank the... well the gods.

"I am Maji. Not to be confused with my rank... which some have sadly."

Van's eyes lit up. They were treating him like , well, some kind of god.

Oh yeah.

The god would have smacked him self on the forehead if he had the anatomy to do such a thing. Instead he let out a small chuckle, to him self mostly. These mortals. It was endearing really the offer the kingly one made. There was a wide smile on the gods face.

"Well how can I say no to an offer such as that. I don't have any one place to be. I wouldn't mind staying a while if you insist. Such a nice group of lions you have gathered here." It really felt like a warm place. Some where safe to bring cubs up. The security had proven that this was a haven well guarded as well as well mannered.

"It is humbling to be in both of your presence. However, If I am to stay I would like to be treated as a friend. Not a deity.." He made a face, "But I will require a rotation of virgins sent to my den daily. Two will do." His face was not serious enough to pull off that kind of a joke. And the god might have let out a few chuckles between words.

"Of course I joke."

"Maji the maji? That makes things easier for the both of us at least." He grinned. "I am glad to meet you both."

Rochben ||
The king and the magi exchanged a short, worried look. A stream of virgins? They hardly had enough females to go around among themselves! Perhaps one or two total but they were far from having what anyone would consider a 'steady supply' for the gods. When the youngster exposed his joke both lions sighed in relief.

"You had us concerned, friend." He smiled a little. "Perhaps you can come to know one of our ladies but there is a saying about too many wives. One is just right, two keeps you warm at night, three is asking for a fight."

Maji ||
The older lion raised a brow. Where ever did Rochben hear that one? He was certain he didn't want to know. The things that happened on the outside... gods have mercy on them.

"Magi." he clarified. "Maji the Magi. It means 'wise man'." I lead the house of wisdom here. You will be addressed most often by the house of the spirit- the Oracle house. Mama should be about to welcome you. She's an older gal, but spirited enough."

Rochben ||
"Enough to contend with the likes of old Haldir." Rochben smirked. Oh the verbal sparring those two allowed the pride to enjoy...

Van's own face turned to one of shock hearing Rochbens joke. Van was a lion of one lioness per lion with his litter mate being the goddess of fidelity and his mother being the goddess of purity. He didn't judge others to harshly if they were in to that sort of thing. To be honest, the god never thought much about that.

His composure returned to him when Maji began to clarify.

"Magi." He repeated deciding not to remark on Rochbens saying. "Maji the Magi. Or is it Magi the Maji. Hm. Mahi maki maji." He trailed off a bit at the end going over different ma and i ending names only changing one letter as he went. He was listening still but also living up to his domains name. Some times he was a little socially 'innocent'.

"Well I think we've talked a while and I think your prides a nice one... sooo... would it be cool if I was shown the lands ?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 10, 2014 7:47 pm
Maji ||
"Maji is fine." He insisted with a patient smile. "There's no need for formalities here, not in your position at least." He glanced back towards Rochben and smirked. "Of course, that does not excuse you, highness."

Rochben ||
The lion snorted and waved a paw. "Of course, Arch Magi. Go on now, there's no better guide than this old windbag. He was born and raised here, knows the caves better than anyone." And, sad to say, he was the only one that knew the caves well enough not to get lost. Half the time the poor magi was taken from his duties to hunt down a lost soul or two.

Maji ||
"I'm afraid he speaks the truth." Maji turned back to the young god and motioned back the way he had come. "Come on, I'll be your escort today. Perhaps old Haldir has gone back on patrol. He'll give you no more trouble."

Eeeep I forgot to close this out x DD

Van merely listened to the two lions banter on for a small while. He had a self content grin plastered on his maw. These two were great. He was sure from the way that he was treated that this was a pride worthy to possibly kick back and relax in for a while.

"But of course," The god chuckled. He followed after Maji.
