If you own a god or goddess and would like for them to have unique/special powers fitted to their domain, please read the information here, fill out the form, and post it in this thread. If you do not apply for your god's powers here you will not be able to have your god use powers in roleplay outside of the basic powers that all gods share. If you feel like you need more information about gods, their domains, or their powers before you apply, please visit the God Information Thread.

If you do not wish for your god to have powers specific to his or her domain and only want to RP him or her with the basic god powers shared by all gods, you do not have to apply here. However, please do not RP anything but the basic god powers or you will be reprimanded. Repeated offenses will result in OOC consequences.



User ImageGeneral Information
Each god has a specific domain and he/she is the living personification of that domain; the god is a representation of mortal belief in that object or concept. Some domains are very broad, while others are very specific, and the powers held by that god has will reflect this. For example, the god of plants will have power over all plants but the goddess of roses will only have powers over roses. However, since all gods have approximately the same amount of power, this means the god of plants powers are spread out across all of the plants in his domain. In essence, if both the god of plants and the goddess of roses try to do something related to a particular rosebush at the same time, the goddess of roses will 'win.' If gods work together their power is magnified, of course, but there aren't many gods that are known for their fondness of working as a team. All gods were created when their domain was: as a consequence, there are very few new god souls.

There are three types of powers among gods: shared/universal god powers, temporary god powers, and one permanent god power. Please note that you are not required to have your god have temporary/permanent powers at all. If you do wish to RP them with temporary/permanent powers, however, they must be OKed beforehand.


  • Powers shared by all gods:
    - Flight
    - Teleportation
    - Shapeshifting and/or illusions over only themselves. This can be for an indefinite period of time.
    - Longer lifespan than mortals
    - Influencing offspring so that the god's genes do not show. They will look like their mother/mother's family or father/father's family entirely. They cannot, however, do more than sway the current genetic makeup of the cub, suppressing the god's genes in the breeding. If anyone wants to do this in breeding, they must make a note of it in the breeding form and post it in the Gene Suppression Thread so that other owners may see it later.
    - Creation of a token that may be used to summon them. Use may or may not be unlimited, depending on the whim of the god creating it. The most common token would be a feather from the god's own wing, though it can vary since not all gods have feathered wings.

  • Temporary god powers:
    All gods can have up to 3 temporary god powers. The key difference between a temporary power and a permanent power is that the affected object/mortal will return to their original state, unchanged, after the effect of the power has worn off. Temporary powers have a fixed duration, and may last anywhere from a few seconds up to 3 days.

  • Permanent god powers:
    Each god can have one 'long-term' power, which can leave a permanent effect on an object or mortal. While it doesn't necessarily have to affect another SoA's coloring/breeding/growth image, it certainly can! However, this power must fit the god's particular domain. IE, the goddess of birds could change someone into a bird, but it would make no sense for the god of water to do this. This power may be used once every two months, and can only be used with the permission of the affected SoA's owner. To use this power, the god owner must post in the God Used Powers thread, with the RP proof to back it up. It may be used on anyone, regardless of how you obtained your SoA.

  • Affecting others with powers:
    A god's powers can affect any SoA, including other gods, but the other owner must give their consent. If you choose to have your SoA affected by a god's permanent power, keep in mind that it is permanent - getting a curse/blessing removed later can be very difficult! The original god won't necessarily be inclined or able to remove it, and finding another who can could be tricky; it is theoretically possible, however, if they have an appropriate domain/power.

  • Mortal forms:
    While all gods appear primarily as lions, and breed as lions - breeding with lions produces, of course, more lions, and breeding with other felines produces the corresponding hybrid - they may put on an illusion of being another species. These are referred to as 'mortal forms' and, for SoA species, you may custom an unlimited number of mortal forms for your god; however, they may only breed as one of them (in addition to lion). So while your god may be able to don the illusion of being a wild dog, a cheetah, and a ratel, you must choose one alternate they can produce purebreds of. Because gods have already produced a significant number of hybrids, we feel it would be too much of a retcon for them to be able to produce purebreds with every species.

  • Earning new powers:
    If you want your god to have additional powers beyond the default set, three temporary powers, and one permanent power, you can earn them through extensive RP. 15 complete RPs (following the same length rules as breeding RPs) will get you a new temporary power, of which you can acquire a maximum of two extra. 25 RPs will get you a new permanent power, of which you can acquire a maximum of one extra.


REMEMBER to keep your god powers RELATED to your god's domain. Also, if your god has a broad/parent domain, keep in mind their powers should be more general than those of the sub domains.

If in the future, you want/need your powers to change for whatever IC reason, please contact staff and we will work it out with you to do so. We understand that as more gods are added to the list, reworking might be necessary.

User ImageGetting Your God's Powers Approved

  • Read all of the information about gods in SoA, found HERE.
  • Only post for approval once your god is official. Quest concepts do not get their powers approved.

  • NEW! God Approvals are now being handled monthly. Your form may be crossed out before you are informed of any final decisions, but you should receive a PM regarding approval and conditions by the end of the month.

    • Every effort will be made to keep up but sometimes a month may be skipped. In those cases, hopefully you will get your response by the end of the next month.


  • Temporary Powers

    • You may apply for up to three.
    • Must have a specified time limit, to a maximum of 3 days. No exceptions.


  • Permanent Powers

    • You may apply for one.


  • General

    • You can only add to your domain, not take away from it.

      • e.g. The God of Happiness may not punish you by cursing you to be unhappy.

    • You can be creative but all powers must be relevant to the god's domain.
    • You can earn 2 additional temporary powers and 1 additional permanent power by completing RPs with your god!

      • Each additional temporary power requires 15 competed RPs.
      • An additional permanent power requires 30 completed RPs.
      • RPs must follow the same standard as breeding RPs to qualify.

      • You do not need to use RPs to claim new ("extra") powers if you do not already have your freebie ("basic") slots filled. If you only have 2 approved temp powers, you can apply for the third without 15 RPs.


    • You should not approach any other god owners about overlap. It only matters that your powers suit your domain and we will decide that.


  • The form includes a space for listing your preferred method of being contacted by anybody interested in being affected by your god's powers, this can be as simple as stating that you only accept PMs or it can include an AIM sn (or whatever)! This is not optional, you have to accept that other people just might see fun potential in your god's powers and want to ask after it.

Temporary Powers:

-Laughter is contagious: When Iiro is in a 5 feet range of another he can laugh and make the other burst into to laughter. This last only for a few seconds.

-Laughter is the best medicine: Iiro can make someone that is hurt or ill feel better by making them laugh. This only ease the pain or make them feel better they where. This only last for the rest of the day. It does not heal them though.

Permanent Power:

-Laughing Fit!: Iiro can Permanently make an SoA or a pride/pack(Mostly just an Soa) be is a state of laughter. They will burst into laughter at any moment and it will/can happen though out the day. For no reason they will laugh all the time. From all this laughing the soa will mostly be so light headed that most thing won't really bother them. To Iiro this is more of a blessing then a cruse for other it a curse more then a blessing. Because Iiro thinks this is a blessing and not a Cruse he would only befallen this blessing to ones that he see is worthy. (Which is very rare.)

Permanent Power:

Bloodbound: The blood and life-being of an animal is completely drained and stored as an alternative form within Uuni. This blood can then either be kept in that form or infused into another empty body, thereby essentially "switching" bodies. Lion Jack would from then on live in rabbit Jill's body and visa versa. The bodies remained unchanged: If lion Jack was old and dying, then rabbit Jill would now be living in an old body and would die accordingly. Bodies left drained are still subject to natural effects, such as decay. Therefore, it cannot be used to re-animate already dead lions. The curse itself can either drain one body and store the blood long term, or it can be used for a single blood-switch where both bodies are replenished within a week's time.

- Accelerated Adaptation - A permanent blessing offered to prides that helps them adapt to their chosen location, where various traits not often found in the common rogue may help them/their offspring survive in an unusual environment, climate, elevation, etc. This can be one explanation for how a pride can quickly develop a population with well-adapted traits following the founding generation (e.g. shaggy fur developing in colder climates).

Temporary Powers:
- What Was and Will Be: If he concentrates very hard, Impermanence can look at something or someone and see how they have changed or how they might change in the future. Looking at future changes tends to give him a terrible headache though because the possibilities overlap and make it look very fuzzy and out of focus. He can't keep this up for more than a minute or two in either direction though.
- The More Things Stay the Same, The More Things Change: When Impermanence stays in one place and holds one shape for too long, things around him begin to alter. He has no control over how they change or what sort of changes might occur, so it could be someone changing their mind or leaves turning color, or the temperature dropping. He cannot affect big things like hastening the seasons' cycle. This effect radiates from him, and it will start small and spread slowly. If he stays in one place and holds one shape for a prolonged period of time it spreads more rapidly and the changes may be more drastic. None of these changes are permanent (obviously). As soon as he moves or his form changes, things will begin to return to normal.

• "Uplifting Aura" Dih'ji carries with him a powerful aura of hope. Despair, sorrow, and defeat shrink away from the hearts of mortals when he's nearby. This effect leaves with him.

Permanent Power:
◘ "Champion of Hope"
Dih'ji will bless a mortal who he feels represents and carries with them the virtue of Hope. This individual will radiate hope itself, inspiring those around them and filling even the darkest of despair with a glimmer of hope. It will draw other mortals to them, gain their support, perhaps even help persuade them into protecting Dih'ji's champion.

- Gem Illusion: ability to make any material appear and feel like the gemstone substance she induces it to look like. Can last up to three days
- Gemstone Dowsing: ability to detect location of any type of gemstone within a 2 mile radius. Can last up to three days.
- Blessing of the Gems: blessed soa have a heightened sense for finding gems. Blessing lasts three days.
Permanent Power:
- She may change any material up to four lbs in size into any gemstone she chooses. Material may not be turned into minerals: gold, silver, lead, etc. Cannot be used on any animate matter(plants, animals); can only be used on inanimate(dirt, rock, sand).

Form One - Basic Powers

Domain: Poisonous Plants
Temporary Powers:
Mildly poisonous - Causes otherwise normal plants within 5(cub)-15(adult) feet of his vicinity to cause mild stomach aches if ingested. If he leaves the area after less than an hour, the effect on the plants ends within 30 minutes. (Must be awake)
Might Not Want to Eat That - If he remains in a specific area for an extended period of time(More than an hour), the plants around him go from causing a mild stomach ache to various forms of hallucination and excessive drooling. If he leaves the area after an hour but before two have passed, the plants will return to normal after an hour. (Must be awake)
REALLY don't want to eat that - Should Datura remain in the area 2+ hours, plants will cause various effects of illness(Warning: Mild vomit, maybe excessive drool, slightly... Less pleasant things..). The effect ends two hours after he leaves the area. (Must be awake)
Permanent Power:
Extremely Poisonous - In a specific area, Datura will cause a specific plant, normally utterly benign, to be deadly-poisonous upon ingestion. (Depending on the animals around, this could be called a curse OR a blessing)

- Give an individual the irresistible urge to wander away from their home (not around, not near, but really away), an effect which will fade after three days.
- Render an individual physically unable to remain in or enter any lands occuppied by a group that would accept them, an effect which will fade after three days.
- Can detect his descendants (basically, his blood is his token). As the ultimate (ha) rogue male, it would be impossible to keep track of them otherwise. So many. Everywhere.
Permanent Power:
- Curses an individual to live the life of a rogue forever, essentially by combining and making permanent his first two temporary powers. The affected SoA may not remain in or enter any lands occuppied by a group that would accept them, and will have an urge to wander far and wide that they cannot suppress (preventing them from 'getting around' the curse by sitting just outside a group's border indefinitely).

Form One - Basic Powers

Temporary Powers:
- Seasonal Step: A passive ability. When Misimu walks, he leaves a temporary trail in his wake that fades within five minutes unless he is standing still in which case it will continue to remain around his paws. What the trail is made of varies by the season: in spring he will leave flowers and fresh grass, in summer he will leave golden, brittle grass, in autumn he will leave fallen leaves and in winter he will leave snow. All of the trails he leaves are tangible, so the flowers and snow can be eaten and leaves stepped on.
- Lifebloom: A passive ability. For around five feet in every direction around him, when Misimu passes by, flora and the environment reacts to his presence depending on the season. Once the affected area is out of this five foot bubble around him, the environment returns to it's natural state as if he was never there. Example: Flowers bloom and turn to face him, trees sprout leaves or turn red, water will turn to ice or snow.
- Speed Things Up!: For up to three days, an area up to two mile can have its season forcibly change to any of his choosing. After the time limit is up, the area returns to how it was before.
Permanent Power:
- Change of Scenery: Permanent version of 'Speed Things Up!'. Misimu can bless an area up to one mile to have its season forcibly changed and the progression of seasons halted in the blessed area. It will remain like this until he removes it or another god that can remove it does so.

Temporary Powers:
- Together One Last Time: Can teleport other beings along with himself. In this way he may: bring loved ones to a distant grave, take the dead to the place they wish to be buried, aid in granting the dying one last wish before they pass away, or similar situations that would necessitate travel-aid.

- Last Will: As many lions are never given proper death rites, Throk can sense the location of already dead lions or living lions who need to undergo (or are undergoing) some form of death rite or ritual. This sense strengthens the closer he is to an individual and by touching them, he receives a vision of how the lion desires/ed their death and body to be honored.

- Burial Rites: To properly honor the dead, Throk can temporarily manipulate the environment around him. The earth can be moved in small amounts to create a grave, a small fire can be summoned that burns extremely hot to turn a being to ashes, and similar effects, depending on what the dead lion’s wishes were. These actions will not last longer than needed (i.e. the earth will not move past the point of a proper burial site, the fire will not burn longer than needed to turn a body to ashes).

Permanent Power:
- Rest In Peace: Creates a burial site and hallowed ground for the deceased. Those who venture onto this ground will receive visions (including bits of sound, feeling, in addition to sight) of the dead's life, their conquests, or mistakes. If anyone attempts to disturb the body or the burial site, the ground itself will animate to protect itself. Grass may wrap around paws, trees may hit unsuspecting victims, rocks may fall, or the ground itself may try and lash out against the enemy. When the hostile presence leaves, the burial site returns to its previous state.

Temporary Powers:

- Favored: If a warrior’s quest is an honorable one, a pledge in Honor’s name can be traded for a small bonus to that character’s strength and resolve. [Length scales with the pledge offered, but no longer than a day.]
- Noteworthy: Yara has the ability to recall a past ‘deed’ in order to judge the honor of said character. Such as a battle. [Lasts as long as it takes to review the event, up to an hour.]
- The Fallen: Those who die in Honor’s name bleed the color of gold upon death. The red hue returns after an hour or so of the warrior’s passing.

Permanent Power:

- Righteous: A truly honored person may be blessed with a permanent bonus to strength and resolve. However, the moment the individual does something dishonorable- the power is stripped away.

Form One - Basic Powers

Temporary Powers:
- Creates a temporary duplicate of a stolen item as a decoy, that looks and feels and is real for just long enough that the real thing can be absconded with, at which point the duplicate disappears.
- Silence a SoA's steps, breath and movement (includes rustling grass, crunching gravel, and so on) for up to three days. They can still be heard if they speak/sneeze/cough, knock something over, etc., but otherwise they will pass unheard.
- Cloak a SoA in shadow for up to three days. Their coat will be dulled/darkened for the duration of the blessing, and they will blend with any shadow they enter so long as they are fully within the shadow, making them difficult to perceive.
Permanent Power:
- Attach a stealth enchantment to a feather from her wing, which will grant the bearer muffled movement and the ability to blend with shadows, with the same restrictions as above. In addition, it is only effective at night, and if given away or traded, will lose its power. If it is stolen, however, it will retain its power and can be used by the new owner. No more than three of these can exist at any given time.
