When an afanc approached the fountain his attention was caught, gaze landing on the other creature and running him once over as it did. Interesting looking guy he thought on a longer slurp of his drink, straw scratching the bottom now much to his displeasure. Frowning he turned to look down into the cup, sloshing the ice around to get more to drink, it as annoying how fast these particular drinks clumped up around the straw, but they were worth it at least.
Licking a bit of pumpkin spice flavored ice from his lips Zaire glanced back towards the afanc and blinked. Why was he just standing there? Was he one of the annoying wishers? On a tilt of head he watched as a ghoul passed the other boil and tossed in a silver seed, given the baffled look of other it was obvious he didn't understand. On a dull laugh he slogged his drink again and called out to the boil, tail sway up some fountain water behind him, "wishes." Sure it didn't explain anything, really the other might not even recognize he was talking to him since he was now looking back into his cup but that really wasn't his concern.

"Wishes?" The boil gave a curious blink to the fountain, hand creeping into his pocket to curl his fingers over a silver seed. "Like for anything?" No way was there any real validity to this, right? If creeple could just on over to the maul and toss a coin into the fountain to get whatever they wished he suspected there would be more strangeness happening. Not that things weren't strange enough, but there would be a definite increase. Still.. What if there was some truth to it? It could wish for things to go well with Natalia.
That was enough to leech color from his skin in a rush. His version of a blush. Temporarily distracting him enough not to notice how close the other boil had gotten before he was leaning against his shoulder. It startled the afanc, made his jump, and he quickly released the seed in his hand. "What?" Voice had picked up an octave. "Refill? Oh! Oh, yeah sure. Um.." With a frown he got a hold of his stuttering, carefully stepping away from Zaire so the other boil was standing on his own two feet again.
Jory wasn't huge on casual touching, which seemed to play him in the monority around here. Others were always touching him. Some, admittedly, he minded a lot less than others.
"Um, where to?" He looked around for vendors before realizing he hadn't given his name back. "I'm Jory."

"Yeah....probably?" Zaire answered truthfully on a lazy shrug. Most of the ghouls made obvious wishes, though he assumed lots of creeple made various wishes. So it wasn't to far-fetched to think anything from love to more silver seeds were wished for. At the color wash he blinked and tilted his head, curious if the boil had a certain wish now.
"What?" Zaire didn't understand the startle, honestly he was use to creeple just letting him lay on them, that and had come from a family where it was the normal. The stuttering and pull away in turn had him frowning and giving a click of his teeth, "are you...ok?.." An questioning eye was given to the other, but he had to admit the reaction was kind of funny, like a scarelings.
At the question he nodded lazily for seemingly no reason before walking away, on a look over his shoulder he called, " come on then...Jory." On a swish of his tail and low chuckle he led them towards the vendor. The stall was filled with all kinds of funny shaped cups and colorful slush. Each swirling around in big plastic container and awaiting orders. "Pumpkin spice..." He growled softly, a lustful tone touching his voice as he eyed the drink and tapped a clawed finger to the plastic container. "You should get one too, they are..delicious." Peeling his eyes from the swirling slush he blinked to Jory and raised a brow, "what kind of wish you want to make..?"

His skin paled again, and his toes curled against the hard tile under foot as his shoulders hunched up around long ears. "Um." He was really going to have to get a handle on his articulation. "I'm not really a casual toucher," she ventured, voice going up at the end to make it half a question, as if asking permission if that was alright. Or seeking approval, or something. Jory was awkward, social as well as physically.
As the other boil began walking Jory fell into step behind him before the swish of that thick tail forced him to the side. he didn't want to step on Zaire's tail, that would just be rude!
When they reached the vendor and blue eyes landed on the various swirling frozen drinks Jory found himself suddenly and inexplicably thirsty. He stared in open craving at the colorful slushs before Zaire's tapping claw drew his attention back to the other boil. Yes, yes he should definitely get one as well, but what flavor?
He was trying to decide when the other boil's question caught him off guard. "My wish?" Maybe Zaire wouldn't notice how terribly high pitched his voice had gotten. And Maybe it snowed in the summer.. "Oh, um. Well." He poked his fingers together. "For good grades," he finally lied, and prayed to Jack the other monster bought it.

There was a fleeting moment of relief as the other boil seemed to accept the afanc's answer, turning back to the vendor. The moment ended abruptly, and Jory paled. Not just his skin, but his scales as well, and he fought with his natural inclination to turn tail and march in the opposite direction of whatever was making him uncomfortable, or in this case, embarrassed. Maybe Zaire wouldn't connect the dots, but that extreme lack of pigment in the fish boil's skin was the equivalent of a blush.
He very nearly groaned, toes curling anxiously against the tile beneath his feet, and cast a suffering look towards his new acquaintance.
Thankfully he didn't comment further, other than to mention the possibility of returning to the fountain so he could toss a seed in. This was met with a quick head shake as Jory handed over payment for the drinks.
An arcade sounded...okay. Jory hadn't ever been to one before, but he'd heard about them, and they sounded interesting. Instead he paused with his lips a half inch from his straw and glanced at the other boil sidelong. "What did you wish for?"
Only now did he realize that he'd paid for both slushies.

"A...bigger stomach?" The boil repeated it slowly, as if he hadn't quiet heard that correctly, though to his knowledge, his ears were working perfectly. Briefly, his frown dipped into a little more prominence, but it smoothed away rather quickly as Zaire started leading him back towards the fountain so he could toss a seed in to make his wish.
(That was definitely not for better grades.)
When they arrived again Jory still had the majority of his smoothie, though he was sipping at it slowly. There was a silver seed in his hand, and he was turning it anxiously, feeling the tip against his fingertips. "Does this really work?" There was a distinct skepticism, but blue eyes stayed on the rippling water in the fountain regardless. Even if it didn't work, what did it hurt to try?
