Location:

Between the ruins of the Tete'boma and the Tuait'tekem. The pack is nestled in some fresh water marshes surrounded by tall rock like mountains.

History:

The Queen, Winterwind, and Heir, Frost Paw, came from the Peke'Na, a disbanded wild dog pack Despite the Queen, not being born there, she felt it was her home. So when it disbanded and the wild dogs split up, she decided to try to make her own home, somewhere she could feel safe and where other dogs could come and start their own families.

She wandered a long time before she found the perfect spot. With help from a few followers, she founded the Pakiti Ya'jua within the marshlands nestled in the middle of large, tall rocks.

Patron Gods/Goddesses
This pack has only recently formed! Unlike 'established' packs, prides, etc. this group is starting from the ground up with only a skeleton of tradition and culture to start with. The founding members range from dogs who have recently lost their packs to rogues who trickled in for survival. Gods, goddesses, practices, and their ways will develop along with the pack as they become more diverse.

Tredici Fidia - The goddess of Organization (( In wild dog form. ))
Radhi-nuru - The god of the Sun

Practices
Currently, there really are none. The pack decided as a collective that they would let their culture develop and establish practices, rituals, and festivals as they were led to do so.

xxCoat Colors
Coat coloration has absolutely no significance within the pack. Any colors, any markings, any family lines are welcome and permitted.

xxMating
• Breeding is reserved for adults only! Adolescents may choose mates, but they are not seen as mature enough to sustain a family.
• All breedings must be approved prior to submission! This lets us know when we need to update the member's list.
• If the relationship is homosexual then adoption or surrogates may be taken into consideration.
• Having multiple partners is not unheard of, but it is discouraged.
• Flings within the pack are allowed, though ICly whispering would be around, speculations, accusations, looks.

xxSpecies
This is a wild dog pack. Other species may pass through the border, with an escort, in extreme cases but they cannot be, will not be, accepted as full members. There can be alliances with other species and other collectives, but only wild dogs are permitted as members.

Very rarely will there be a slave that is not a wild dog. If you wish to own a none wild dog slave, you would need to discuss it OOCly with Saint Sergio and ICly with the Queen.

Disbanding the Sacred Games
With the disapperance of the Betrothed, the Queen, Winterwind, has decided that the games are not a trusted way of picking the Heir's mate. So, the short lived tradition is now gone and the pack males that wish to be the next Commander will have to talk with the Queen. From these conversations the Queen will pick who the next Betrothed will be. In other words, Winterwind gets final say in who marries into the royal family.

Spring Celebration
Winter for the Pakiti Ya'jua is a long, dark one filled with snow. It's the time of year that the rocks that protect the pride hinder it's ability to see the sun.
The Spring Celebration is a celebration that starts at the first sign of the sun peaking over the rocks and the snow starts to melt. During this, there's dancing and music. The whole pack, reguardless of age and rank, gather together to go hunting and a chance to stretch their legs and warm their bodies in the new sun.

They offer small tokens to the Sun God for his return, such as feathers from a bird, or rocks from a river. Something small and meaningful to the pack.

Summer Race
Summers are hot and humid, but it doesn't dry up the marshes too much.
As a sort of Family Day, there's two races druing the summer. At the beginning, when it's not too hot, there's a race on foot on the trails around the pack. The fastest dog gets to be called champion and is looked upon favorably by the Royal Family. This is a good way for males to get noticed by the Queen if the Heir does not have a Betrothed.

During the middle of summer there is a swimming race. The marshes hold a large body of water that seems to have no bottom. At least, no one's willing to find out if it does or not. It makes swimming a favorite thing to do among even the oldest members of the pack.
These two races are split up into Youth, for pups, and Advanced, for adolescents and adults.

End of Summer Rains
This isn't a celebration. The end of summer and beginning of autumn seems to lead to a three-week non-stop rain. It floods the lower marshlands and dens. For this reason there's dens and paths carved into the stone of the rocks. The pack moves here during this time and usually only venture out to fish in the high waters for their own families. Hunters do not feed the entire pack during this time.

Autumn
Before the End of Summer Rains, there's a little pack fun that happens to round up new pups to the dens. A few families stay in the lower dens to gather all the pups there and they each get a paw crafted bag. The appointed pup sitters take the pups den to den of the families that stay behind and they get a few Sun Offerings.

From there they, and now the families, all go up the rocks den to den to gather Sun Offerings for the pups. This can be food, rocks, little crafted things if a wild dog is so inclined. It's kind of like Trick or Treating. At the end of the day, the pups go home and the Queen makes sure everyone is up from the lower marshlands.

Winter
At the beginning of winter, the Queen goes to to the top of the tallest rock for three days by herself. This is her time of meditation and reflection on the previous year. This is how she seeks council with the gods to see what changes need to be made, to see if the path she's leading the pack down is the right one.

Towards the end of winter, there is much excitement out of the little pups because this is the time that Gifts are brought by a mysterious figure. No one has a name for this figure, but it often brings toys, small trinkets, maybe even a scarf or a pelt, something paw crafted.

There is a lot of snow in the winter, so the pups always have something to do. It's during this time where every guard needs to be on alert to make sure the pups don't wander too close to the border.
