Namid's ears flicked forward before her eyes began to flutter open. Her jaw cracked through a yawn. She shook her head to free the fur that managed to clump together. Many little forms, snuggled together, slept through the day. Her eyes swept over them before searching for Asku. He was absent. She hoped not too many of them would wake. There were eight new pups and they were a paw full. Namid's straight forward approach sometimes didn't communicate well. A whine drew her attention to her side. Tate, stretched across her flank, kicked in annoyance at some imaginary foe. She noted Onida near as well, stationed in a tight ball. She observed his belly that rose and fell with his breathing. It was the only part of him that moved. The position didn't look rather comfortable, but she shrugged it off.

Anemy's little nose twitched, and she gave a low whine as she turned onto her stomach. Her tiny, dark blue eyes half-opened and observed her surroundings. Ah, that's right, she was home. Not chasing a strange winged creature through the forest, hopelessly lost. She looked around again, her eyes now adjusted to the little amount of light seeping in the family den. Hey, mom was awake!

A yawn escaped her tiny mouth, and she shook her head to make sure she was really conscience. She then made a clumsy effort to stand so she could go lick her mother, but instead tripped over one of her other siblings and fell ontop of Tate...

A rustling of movement drew Namid's attention back to her pups. She watched as Anemy attempted to reach her. An 'uff' escaped Tate before his eyes shot open. He whined in agitation for the rude awakening before flailing his limbs to kick Anemy away. Namid reached over and gently grabbed Anemy by her scruff, placing her away from Tate before he could cause trouble. He glared at Anemy before shouting, "Hey! She almost killed me!" Onida's form jolted in surprise at the sudden noise. One eye popped open and urgently surveyed the den for danger. Once he spotted Tate, he rolled his eye and promptly shut it--trying to ignore him.

"Hush." Namid eyes darted over the remaining pups. Some stirred, but none woke as Onida had. Tate lowed his head and hissed. "I was just getting some awesome sleep where I was battling a mighty lion (and I was winning) when blubber fish tried to suffocate me. Namid observed Tate and recalled the interaction. Anemy didn't land near Tate's face so he was in no danger of suffocation....Ah, he was exaggerating." No, she wasn't. Now go back to sleep. Tate frowned at his mother's words before looking back at Anemy. He stuck his tongue out to her and crossed his eyes.

How dare he! She was no blubber fish, why she was no more a blubber fish than he was! It was all harmless play, but it still didn't mean the comment didn't rile her up. But mom had issued an order. Keep quiet and ensure the rest of your siblings weren't going to wake up.

So to avoid yelling some equally cleverly thought out insult back at him Anemy herself puffed out her cheeks and then mimicked her brother by sticking her tongue out and crossing her eyes back at him. Feeling satisfied at that she laid down in the spot her mother had left her. She placed her down on the floor and knew instantly she wasn't going to get back to sleep.

She was already stirred up, and now that she and Tate almost aroused the rest of the family she was more active than ever! Besides if she did managed to get to sleep there was nothing stopping Tate from running over and leaping on her.

Instead she stayed where she was and looked around ready to entertain anyone who possibly awoke and bothered to whisper to her.

Wha! Tate's fur puffed out in agitation at the mimicking faces she tossed his way. He'd show her a thing or two if it wasn't for Namid's command. He reserved to getting the upper hand by climbing on Namid's flank and peering down on Anemy. With both paws stretching apart his mouth, he flashed his teeth and stuck out his tongue. Ha! He'd like to see her beat that.

Onida peaked over his flank at Tate's display. "Just ignore him. He's being stupid." Honestly, Tate needed to calm down and stop getting into fights with others. Onida couldn't understand his rash behavior.

Anemy grinned at Tate before he disapeared over their mother's flank again. She got up walked over, prepared to make faces at her brother for as long as they could. Then she heard Onida speak. Clearly he just trying to avoid further conflict between Tate and Anemy; but was still tempted to make an even more ridiculous face at her brother. She thought about his reaction and how she would savor the taste of success until he troted over and made more faces.

But she resisted, though it was hard because she had already thought out which face she would make at him. She only stopped because as much fun as it would be to get petty revenge, their face-making could turn into a fight- and although they wouldn't really hurt each other, Namid had warned them what would happen if they did.

So instead Anemy made a "hmph" noise, and turned around to walk back to her spot on the floor.

Namid watched her pups play with each other. At least, she thought they were playing. She was a bit confused at their exchange, but the faces were interesting to look at. Tate squirmed on her back, disappointed that Anemy stopped. Her ears pointed in his direction and she could sense a retort bubbling up in his chest. Surely Tate will yell at the sudden dismissal, so Namid tilted her weight causing him to slide off. He hit the ground with an 'umph' before any words could squeak out. She then reached out with her claws and dug up the den floor into a small pile of soft dirty. "There, draw a picture." Tate looked at his mother then at his siblings. A cunning smile slid across his face. "I'm gonna make the best picture ever." He plopped himself down and began to work. His little, pink tongue poked out between his lips while he worked. Curious, Onida crawled over and began gathering dirt into his own pile.

Anemy became curious as well, and shifting closer to her brothers she looked at their pictures in-the-making with wonder in her eyes. "I'll make something too." She proclaimed with her own confident smile crawling across her face. At that sat next to both Tate and Onida before setting to work.
Now, what to draw? Something awesome of course, but what was awesome enough make into a dirt picture? She looked around for inspiration of some kind, but could only see her sleeping silbings. She began to make swirls in the dirt while deciding what she should draw...

Tate tilted his head to get a better angle. His blob needed more personality, so he stuck his paw straight into it and twisted it around. The picture turned into a valley with little mountains around it. "See, what'chu need here is a little bit of grit." He gurgled into his throat a bit before hocking a big wad of spit in the middle of it. Onida grimaced at the disgusting display. Tate caught Onida's look and a devious grin spread across his face. He pressed he paw right in the spit, squishing it into the mud to get it nice and covered, before swiping it across Onida's nose. Onida yelped out and vigorously wiped away the grossness with his paw. He grabbed what little dirt he accumulated and pushed it closer to Anemy, trying to get out of Tate's reach. Namid stuck her own paw into the dirt and began gather little piles. She was formulating the constellations. Onida observed his mother before attempting to copy her. He then looked over at Anemy, "What are you drawing?"

"Um... The river." She said. Looking at her swirls they did look kind of like the river water, always moving, never stopping. They also moved in a straight line, so it looked kind of like under a river. Anemy place her paw on the dirt for a moment, thinking about what needed to be added to the scene she had made. After a few seconds of thinking she dug her nail into the ground and carved out a fish. It was pretty tiny, so she drew a larger one next to it. Eventually, she drew a whole sea of fish. "Done!" She said proudly. "Hey, guys, would you go fishing there?" She asked while looking back over at her siblings works'.
Tate's had a big splotch in the middle of it, and Onida had moved his completely, but was now drawing stars? Either way, Anemy contained a sense of accompishment over her brothers, and wanted their opinion on her work to see if it really was worthy of being better than theirs.

Onida observed her technique and glanced at his own creation. Dots littered the ground which he attempted to look like stars, but wasn't very successful. So he started connecting some of the 'stars', forming weird shapes. Tate pulled his head out of his work and looked at Anemy's. "Yeah, it's not too bad..." He didn't want to give her credit for making the best picture since his looked so bad. Whatever, he'll do something awesome later. Onida was a bit surprised at Tate's half way decent response. He turned back to Anemy and considered her fish. "I wouldn't if there was a shark." He began to giggle as he drew a large shark just outside the edge of her picture, making it look like it was about to enter.

Anemy grinned happily at her brothers and then giggled as she began to sketch Onida fishing at the edge of her picture. Once done with that she looked at her drawing carefully; examining each detail and with a small, proud nod, deemed it complete. Since she was finished with her picture now Anemy pondered over if she would bother to start a new one or see how everyone else's were doing. Going with the latter she peered over at Namid's first and stared in curiousty mixed with awe. "Are those the stars mommy?" She asked, still looking at the dirt creation.

Namid continued to drag her paw through the picture. She began humming and closed her eyes while she worked. She didn't lift her arm, but instead, made continuous circles and swirls. Anemy's words pulled her attention and she glanced down at her creation. The stars were gone and replaced with a tangle of lines. "They were, but it seems I got too carried away." She looked over at the other creations, eyeing the spit in Tate's design. "Very nice, I especially like the added personality of Tate's." Tate beamed under the praise. "And you two seemed to have created something unique." Her eyes scanned across the water and fish. Ah, fish...her tummy gave a rumble in response. Her thoughts turned to Asku and she wondered when he would return. "Why don't we rest before daddy returns with food?" Sleeping always made time fly by faster.

Anemy smiled at nothing as she placed her head back on the ground. Her tail was wagging, her mind still spun with thoughts she wanted to bark out to the world; but she knew this arrangement of more sleep was temporary. She did also feel a little tired from that small bit of excitement and playtime.

Daddy would be home shortly anyways, then she could get up and run around with her siblings again. "Alright..." she whispered in a delayed agreement while curling up into a ball. At least this way she'd be comfortable once Asku finally returned with breakfast. "Good night then mommy..."

"But I'm not tired." Tate argued before a large yawn cracked his jaw open. Ignoring his picture, he stomped through it to get to Onida. He flopped down on top of him, causing Onida to yelp in surprise. "Get off Tate." He hissed, but Tate already snuggled close and closed his eyes. Onida rolled his own eyes before crossing paws and resting his head down.

Namid picked herself up and circled around the pups, laying down with the little ones next to her flank. She nuzzled each one on the head before resting herself. 'Good night." She uttered before her eyes closed shut.
